This property has been in my family since 1959, when my Grandfather purchased it as a summer cabin. The cabin sits west-facing on high bank waterfront with spectacular views of Hood Canal, and the Olympic Mountains. Part of the cabin still sports the original logs taken from the land over a hundred years ago to build the main room of the home. The back deck is very expansive and perfect for sitting outside and drinking in the view.

Perfect place to vacation
Very nice cabin with fantastic views and easy access to various towns and the ferry to Seattle. I would choose to stay here again.
This is a unique home in a beautiful setting. Well equipped with comfortable beds. We often stay in VRBO homes and this is a really nice one. Our issues were minor, but a bit confusing. There is no "owners information" book for working the living room fireplace (the only heat source for that room), wifi user name and password etc. (I had to try and find my e-mail with the password). Also there is no address anywhere on the house or out front. A previous review made us aware of the house in front of it so we stopped when we saw her mailbox with the closest address. And the next things are also minor, but there wasn't a kleenex or bar of soap in the place. Maybe the housekeeper forgot to put supplies in, I'm not sure, but most places we've stayed had those basic items. I had to make a trip to the store to have soap for our showers. It wasn't as clean as I've experienced at other places as well. We own rental property on the Oregon Coast, so we know what's involved in having a place "renter ready". But we will come back, just more prepared next time. We come up regularly for Mariner's games and love staying on Hood Canal.
Peaceful stay in a great location
Loved this cabin! So quiet and what a great place to relax. The cabin had everything we needed and the view across the water was gorgeous (even though we couldn't see it half the time due to smoke). There is no cooling system however if you open up at night and shut the sun facing windows during the day it's just fine. This has been one of the best vacation rentals we've used for comfort and relaxation. The location is great for visiting so much of NW Washington; an easy drive to Hoodsport or Port Angeles or Tacoma, a simple ferry ride away from Seattle. We fished and hiked and relaxed and had a great time. Our old dog passed away just a few days after leaving (natural causes); I will be eternally grateful he had such a wonderful place to spend his final days. We took the room with the sliding door that opened onto the lovely fenced backyard...our dog went in and out as he pleased, rolled in the grass, and spent so many hours sitting outside in the fresh air with us. Those happy memories will always be with us.
Just not for us.
The cabin is very cute and rustic and the view is amazing, but there are things that need to be corrected as far as creature comforts. We spent 24 hours trying to restore the internet as my husband was on a working vacation, ok, stuff happens. The television didn't work at all and even if it had there was no cable. The weather was beautiful, but hot for that part of the country. The shades on the front windows did not close and it was miserable. We couldn't sleep and there wasn't even an umbrella on the outside table so that we could escape the heat on the deck. We ended up leaving two days early and headed for home. We received not even an apology from the owner. If you don't care about modern amenities then this will be perfect for you.
I’m sorry you didn’t have a nice trip. All I can say is that the tv broke and someone changed the WiFi network and password right before you stayed, all of which I explained and apologized for multiple times on the phone.
It was pretty unfortunate, and I spent quite a lot of time arranging for a new tv to be delivered and contacting Comcast to understand what happened to the network.
Such a beautiful place!
We stayed for 4 days at this wonderful cabin. Former reviews say there are no curtains in the bathroom but there are now. Had a great time. Enjoyed seeing the stars and the mountains being on the water. Will definitely stay again next time we are in the NW!!
Wonderful get away in a cute cabin.
We loved the cozy cabin! It has spectacular views and was so quiet and peaceful. Updated nicely with all the things we needed. Would have liked one more chair in living room, just so all four of us could relax in there at the same time. Cable and better internet would have been nice too. But, it made us unplug from the world for a bit. Close to town and Walmart. But secluded at the same time. Would definitely recommend this home.
