This property has been in my family since 1959, when my Grandfather purchased it as a summer cabin. The cabin sits west-facing on high bank waterfront with spectacular views of Hood Canal, and the Olympic Mountains. Part of the cabin still sports the original logs taken from the land over a hundred years ago to build the main room of the home. The back deck is very expansive and perfect for sitting outside and drinking in the view.

This was a great quiet place to be. The only issue was trying to find it. When we arrived it was dark and difficult to find the place. Once we found the place the stay was great!
Lovely space to spend a few days!
Our group of 4 friends spend 3 nights together each Thanksgiving weekend. And our stay in this Poulsbo cabin was truly lovely. If anything, the cabin and the setting are even more beautiful than the photos show. The dining table has been moved to a more central place in the large open room, and the couch / living area is now by the large window overlooking the water. A better arrangement (imho) than what's shown in the photos. We loved being able to sit on the couch with our books (and wine) and look out at the water and mountains. The only thing we wished we had - as 4 adults - is an armchair or two to accompany the couch. The space is tight, but there are two doors leading out onto the deck, so one of them could be partially blocked by an arm chair without actually blocking access to the outside. And since we are two couples, we would have preferred 2 larger beds, but that's just the details for our group (and the property was correctly described, so no issue there). Those with children or otherwise non-partnered folks in their group will appreciate the twin beds in the second bedroom.
Also: owner was super responsive all along, including when we initially had issues logging into the wifi. Loren called right back to confirm the password and then it worked right away. It's a great value for such a lovely place. Overall - great spot!
My husband and I were thrilled when we saw the Waterfront Log Cabin. It is far above what one would expect of a vacation home. The detailing of the walls and furnishings look like a page from a decorator's magazine. The view from the livingroom window of the bay is an added plus. We were only sorry that we could stay for only two days. We would highly recommend this "Cabin" to everyone and hope that everyone will honor the beauty of the home and take good care of it..
Perfect place to vacation
Very nice cabin with fantastic views and easy access to various towns and the ferry to Seattle. I would choose to stay here again.
This is a unique home in a beautiful setting. Well equipped with comfortable beds. We often stay in VRBO homes and this is a really nice one. Our issues were minor, but a bit confusing. There is no "owners information" book for working the living room fireplace (the only heat source for that room), wifi user name and password etc. (I had to try and find my e-mail with the password). Also there is no address anywhere on the house or out front. A previous review made us aware of the house in front of it so we stopped when we saw her mailbox with the closest address. And the next things are also minor, but there wasn't a kleenex or bar of soap in the place. Maybe the housekeeper forgot to put supplies in, I'm not sure, but most places we've stayed had those basic items. I had to make a trip to the store to have soap for our showers. It wasn't as clean as I've experienced at other places as well. We own rental property on the Oregon Coast, so we know what's involved in having a place "renter ready". But we will come back, just more prepared next time. We come up regularly for Mariner's games and love staying on Hood Canal.
Peaceful stay in a great location
Loved this cabin! So quiet and what a great place to relax. The cabin had everything we needed and the view across the water was gorgeous (even though we couldn't see it half the time due to smoke). There is no cooling system however if you open up at night and shut the sun facing windows during the day it's just fine. This has been one of the best vacation rentals we've used for comfort and relaxation. The location is great for visiting so much of NW Washington; an easy drive to Hoodsport or Port Angeles or Tacoma, a simple ferry ride away from Seattle. We fished and hiked and relaxed and had a great time. Our old dog passed away just a few days after leaving (natural causes); I will be eternally grateful he had such a wonderful place to spend his final days. We took the room with the sliding door that opened onto the lovely fenced backyard...our dog went in and out as he pleased, rolled in the grass, and spent so many hours sitting outside in the fresh air with us. Those happy memories will always be with us.
