The Three Bears Cabin – Cozy Northwoods Retreat on Kitten Lake.

Escape to the peaceful Northwoods at The Three Bears Cabin in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin. Surrounded by towering pines and sparkling lake views, this cozy cabin is perfect for a romantic weekend getaway or a family adventure. Watch loons at sunset from the 3-season sunroom, breathe in the fresh pine air, and soak up the serene beauty of Up North.

Accommodations:
The cabin sleeps up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms: two master bedrooms with king beds and a third bedroom with 2 twin beds. There are 2 full bathrooms, all linens and towels are provided, and the home offers modern amenities including a private pier, screened-in porch with lake views, 50” smart TV, board games, cards, and free Spectrum WiFi.

Summer Activities:
Enjoy fishing on Kitten Lake (part of the Wildcat 3-Lake Chain), swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, and boating from your private pier. Cyclists can access the Heart of Vilas County Bike Trail, a 50-mile paved trail connecting Boulder Junction with Manitowish Waters, Sayner, and St. Germain. Explore scenic walking trails, picnic areas, and nearby small-town charm.

Winter Adventures:
Snowmobilers can step right onto Trail #15, just across the road. Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and family fun await at Boulder Junction Winter Park, featuring The Glide ice skating ribbon, sledding hill, warming shelter, and equipment rentals.

Beautiful, peaceful setting

I stayed at this property with my husband. The location was absolutely amazing and extremely peaceful. Close to Boulder Junction, and close to bike trails and hiking trails. We will definitely stay here again!

Biking the trails

The bike trail system in the area is amazing. We were able to fit in a few rides even though the weather was quite chilly. At the end of our rides it was nice to come back to the warm and comfortable cabin.

Lovely Cabin

Enjoyed our stay with our grandkiddos. Lots of things for the grandkids to do. Nice swim beach, kayaking, campfires and close to area amenities - horseback riding and Boulder Junction parks and events.

Cozy Winter Cabin!

Cozy cabin with a very pretty view of the lake. Has everything you need for a relaxing stay with lots of restaurants nearby. They have a nice big screen TV that we enjoyed watching the Super Bowl on! And we love the fact that we have the option of bringing our dogs.

plenty of space and comfort in a nicely decorated cabin. the master bedroom was so comfortable. the fireplace was a welcome addition almost every morning. kitchen was well supplied for the few nights we cooked in. beautiful lake views from the screened in porch. with the exception of the slow wifi, a truly wonderful week in boulder junction.

Charming Cabin w/great views & eagle watching!

We loved our New Year’s Eve weekend visit with our family at this cabin. The cabin has cozy and rustic decor and was in a great location! We enjoyed heading right outside to the dock in the mornings for eagle watching and observing the ice fishermen on the lake. The cabin is centrally located to Boulder Junction which was a fantastic northwoods town with lots of great local restaurants and hiking trails (and snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, & snowmobiling, weather-permitting). The owners were very friendly and accommodating. We’ll definitely be back to visit again!

Nice escape

Our escape up North was rewarded by finding a very nice place to stay. The cabin itself had every thing you could possibly need. I was even able to watch the Packer game on the big screen tv while my wife took the provided boat out to fish. This cabin is located just a few miles from several nice restaurants, and bike trails. We also met the owners who are very nice, and who went out of their way to hand deliver some items we had left at the cabin.

Northwoods Getaway

Very much enjoyed the little cabin! Other cabins are right next to each other. Everyone around us was quiet so no problem there but if you’re looking for a secluded place this would not be it. If you have kids this may be a good place for you…. A nice little beach for them to play at, a small playground & a couple of basketball hoops! A rowboat was there for our use as well as one kayak. I would recommend this place if you like all those things.

Repeat visitor!

We just stayed at the Bear Den for the third time and have already rebooked for next year! It’s an adorable cabin, very clean. The three seasons room is to die for! My husband and I came up for a long weekend getaway and to go fishing. We bring our fishing boat and utilize the dock. The lake is very small and quite with easy access to the larger wild cat lake through a channel. There are close neighbors since the cabin is on a property that was previously a resort, but we’ve visited 3 times and never had noise problems. The lake is full of fish and lots of other wildlife, including an eagles nest. Can’t wait for our next visit!

Adorable and relaxing

This was the cutest and most comfortable little cabin -- the photos online don't do it justice! My mom and I wanted to get away for a quick weekend to relax, hang out, and cross-country ski and we got so lucky in finding this place. It was spotless -- I felt totally safe being there during COVID -- and has everything one needs for a few days rest. We made most of our meals there but it's close enough to nearby towns to go out for coffee, lunch, or dinner. And I could not have asked for an easier or more beautiful place to ski than Kitten Lake -- I spent hours alone on the ice right down a little hill from the cabin. If you're considering this place, don't hesitate! Mike and Laura were super communicators, everything was perfect and easy -- you won't regret your stay here.

Very cute cabin

Have not been to the North Woods for 27 years. Believe it or not, everything looks the same. Cabin was very cute, very clean and charming. Couple eagles on lake and a family of loons. Just awesome.

Lovely property

The Bear Den was a tastefully appointed cabin conveniently located on a lovely lake system. Thanks to the owners' thoughtful provision, we were able to enjoy the surprisingly clear waters of Big Kitten and Wildcat Lakes in their kayaks and roomy fishing boat. The town of Boulder Junction was a just a few minutes away for any needed errands or supplies. We were especially delighted to discover Grassy Creek Ranch just a minute away for some wonderful horseback riding with Sonny and Kyle. Bear Den owners Mike and Laura were very kind and made themselves available for any questions we might have and were prompt to respond. We look forward to returning in the future.

This is my husband's dream to have a cabin located in the northwoods. He is a big fisherman, boater, hunter and snowmobiler and this location offers it all. As for me, I love being in the woods and being part of nature's solitude. We both enjoy all outdoor sports and this property is perfect. We hope you think so too.

If you want a true Northwoods vacation experience, this is the prime resort to stay at. It is located right on Kitten Lake, and has many activities for people of all ages.
