Beautiful location, amazing view, so much to do in the area and a wonderfully clean, tasteful abode!
We loved it. And we will be back for sure. This area of the Big Island is our favourite...stunning beaches, great snorkelling, seasonal whale watching, fishing (and delicious seafood and poke nearby), Hawi Town is nearby and super cute etc etc etc...so much to do but also an amazing home and property to just chill and Felix at. Richard clearly takes great care and pride and has great taste! The home is spotlessly clean and well-appointed; stunning ocean views, lovely garden, cozy lanai! We were so relaxed just being there and sipping the odd gin and tonic as the sun sets over the Pacific! Thank you Richard.

Amazing location! Gorgeous views!
We have been to the Big Island many times and love staying in the Kohala area. This was the first time we stayed up above the water along a hillside and we loved it. The views are incredible for sunsets and we saw numerous whales. This property is gorgeously landscaped and very welcoming the moment you drive up. It is extremely well maintained and I have never stayed in a VRBO that is so well supplied and so comfortable. Plus the location is the best - the Kohala area is well known for its sunshine and incredible beaches - this home is close to it all. Also, some great restaurants very close. I would definitely stay here again! Thanks Richard for all of the information and help along the way!
Beautiful site, great sunsets and bird noises
We had a wonderful time staying at this house and it exceeded our expectations in every way. Wonderful location with a short drive to many beaches. The views were amazing--we saw whales while having our morning coffee the first day we were there. The house and grounds were absolutely everything we'd hoped for. Spacious, beautiful interior with a well stocked kitchen and a beautiful, quiet yard to spend time in. There were six adults in our party and we had plenty of space. I have to mention that the shower was great--really good water pressure. A good shower is important! Richard was particularly easy to deal with--quick to respond to my many questions and happy to make suggestions for things we were interested in doing in the area. We had problems with our flights, so our arrival time changed drastically, and he was extremely accommodating. We would absolutely stay here again.
This house is just perfect; there is no other way to describe it. The pictures don't do it justice. It has everything you can possibly need, and the view is so dynamite. The whales were jumping while we were there! The house is perfectly situated north of the Kohala resorts; it is an easy drive to the beaches and resorts, but it is lovely to be away from it all once the day is done. I cannot say enough great things about the house; we will be back to visit again!
kohala estates is an ideal location for enjoying west Hawaii.Great resturants , recreation and beaches are only minutes away.This rental property is also walking distance to snorkeling and shoreline hiking. The upcountry farmers markets in Kamuela is great shopping and eating, local style.If you love the beach you can find your beach near by from the largest on the big island,Hapuna to more secluded Mau'umae .
