About Chris and Mariana
I met my wife in Argentina and grew up in the area always surrounded by horses thus the name "Gaucho on the lake". You will notice a touch of our history in the home. My wife and I along with our 3 kids manage the rentals ourselves and enjoy making improvements, landscaping, on the home and trying to make your stay something special. We know how important a vacation is and the effort it often takes as our annual vacation to Traverse City for 10 years meant a 18 hour flight from Buenos Aires. We will do everything we can to make your vacation comfortable and memorable. It really is a beautiful home in an equally beautiful setting. Thanks for considering our home for your trip,
Chris and Mariana purchased this House in 2015
Why Chris and Mariana chose Traverse City
We fell in love with this property due to its' beautiful setting on Rennie Lake and wanted a place for my family to spend vacations and make memories. The home was trashed and didn't even have running water so we Totally renovated it and then painstakingly furnished it, The vast majority of the work was supervised by my sister Kim Creamer who is a lifetime resident and horse lover. It's a wonderful place to create family memories this summer! property is really quality throughout from the hardwood floors to the furnishings. The fact that there is no public boat launch and a big area around the lake is public land that cant be built on makes this setting really peaceful. On either side of the home are empty lots.
What makes this House unique
104' private frontage for swimming and boating activities (all sports lake) The locals call this cove "Little Rennie Lake" Wonderful views of the lake from the large picture window in the living room and extensive decking to fully enjoy this private setting. the shoreline has a sandy area which is nice for grabbing some rays or having a fire at night with a glass of wine for the grownups.

House was very nice and spacious. Plenty of room and furnished very well. One surprise was no A.C. Was very hot during the day and fans helped but still uncomfortable. Such a nice property was disappointed that this was not included. Fishing is not really an option even though right on a lake. Very shallow and nothing much to catch. No one else fishing on the lake either.
Hope you enjoyed your stay in the Traverse City area. Yes it was a hot two weeks or so this August, We did get hit, like many areas, with some near record temps this year during your visit.Unusual. Regarding AC it shows on VRBO what each home offers or doesn't including AC so vacationers are informed. As this is a private lake with no public access, and a good chuck of it is state owned, you seldom see many boats on the lake, My kids and I do some fishing in late evenings especially during the summer,Anyhow despite the Heat I hope your family had a good time. after weathering a northern Michigan winter my family sure welcomes the summer months!
All the best from our family
Our kids, their spouses and grandchild thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this secluded getaway. Lake view is outstanding! The multi-tiered deck and living room picture window provide fantastic views of Lake Rennie. Enjoyed the owner-provided kayaks and bikes. The home is a quick drive to downtown Traverse City, local wineries and breweries. The owner was very pleasant to work with and was willing to accommodate an early arrival - much appreciated.
We are really happy you enjoyed your stay at our home on Rennie lake Pat with all your family. Every year we try to make it better and always very appreciative on any insights people have on their stay.
thanks again, Chris & Mariana
My wife and two daughters really enjoyed this home. everything worked fine and in good shape and well equipped. Home is in the middle of the woods and the kids really enjoyed all that nature and were happy exploring and riding bikes. Would definitely recommend this home and plan on renting it again next year.
book me for next year
just a beautiful area and home. Enjoyed all that it had to offer. Quality home throughout. Great place to spend a family vacation.
Wow! what a nice place
Cant tell you what a pleasant surprise your home was. photos don't do it justice. I think a great bargain for what you are getting compared to other homes we have rented. Doesn't have that musty old house feel you get with many seasonal rentals. Our first time renting a home on Rennie lake. good decision. Our host, Kim, was great to work with. I would recommend this home to anyone who wants a great waterfront vacation in a quality home. Couldn't figure out why it wasn't booked the entire summer until Kim explained it just came on the market after a total renovation.
My family and I really enjoyed our stay on this beautiful Rennie lake home. I think we were the first to rent it. Everything is basically new and quality throughout from the furnishings to the appliances and hardwood floors. The kids enjoyed kayaking on the lake and riding bikes in this beautiful wooded area and close to TC.
Conveniently located 13 miles south of Traverse City on beautiful Rennie Lake (all sports lake). Minutes from Ranch Rudolph for horse back riding and hiking. Minutes from Pegeos Restaurant/Bar - snowmobile headquarters for the area. Traverse City offers many festivals throughout the year including the nationally known Cherry Festival, equestrian show, Film Festival, music festivals, brewery and wine festivals. Interlochen Center for the arts is 16 miles away with summer concerts by well known musicians and artists. Two kayaks and four bicycles included at no charge. This home offers 3 bedrooms (king, queen, two twins) and two full bathrooms.
