Cottage on The Lizard - Tranquil Location, 2 Minutes Walk To Beach
About Catherine King
I live in Feock, Cornwall and own and rent out two delightful three bedroom cottages, in St Keverne on the Lizard Penninsula and in the equally popular north coast village of St Agnes. Having a young family, we ensure that the cottages are practical and easy for families to come to as we understand the pressures of travelling with children! They both have high chairs / travel cots for your use as well as separate rooms for teenagers so that everyone can have a bit of personal space. Lovely gardens with decking also.
Catherine King purchased this Cottage in 2014
Why Catherine King chose Saint Keverne
Homely practical comfortable and characterful.

We consider property very overpriced. Very difficult to have even a warm shower or bath. Fumes from boiler caused headaches and feeling of nausea. Previous guests left a note on table to say smoke detector needed new battery this was ignored. Cottage could have been a lot cleaner and needs redecoration. Crumbs on work tops from previous guests, toilet brushes a health hazard. No light in upstairs toilet, light over shaving mirror not working, kitchen needed new spotlight bulb which might have helped as kitchen very dark. On wet days would have been good to dry damp clothes but dryer on washing machine didn't work, no tea towels. Its the most expensive property we have ever stayed in but lacked attention to detail to make you feel welcome. All places before have had a welcome pack but there was not even a pint of milk to welcome us. We feel ripped off. On the positive side, beds were clean and comfortable and garden ideal for the dogs. weather not nice enough for us to enjoy it.
Lovely cottage in a lovely location.
Lovely area very quiet , good for walking , lovely beach's. Dog friendly cottage and beach's.
Lovely cottage in a peaceful location
Just what we were looking for as a relaxing Christmas break. Plenty of places to walk the dog on the beach or along the south west coast path, even managed a days fishing at porthkerris. The cottage is well equipped and cosy.
Property could be amazing but serious need of TLC
We had a lovely holiday. This house is in a beautiful location in a very quiet area.
We went to the property in peak holiday season and so accept the need to pay large sums of money - however the house is overpriced even taking this into account. The wardrobes in the bedroom were falling apart leaving the drawers unusable, the toilet was not secured to the wall, the light switches were in bizarre places making walking through the property in the dark a bit like the fox and the duck crossing the river conundrum. There is also a serious need for a lick of paint where water has obviously leaked. Christmas decorations still up in August just smacks of lack of attention to detail. Outdoor furniture was also beyond "rustic".
We had a problem with the boiler locking out only mentioned to credit Catherine with coming and fixing it very promptly.
There was also a notice on the fridge asking that recycling was dealt with - pick up of what and when was unclear. I bagged up the rubbish to try to help - but feel pretty upset that non of it was ours! It didn't get collected either!
A 4p.m. check in was advertised but felt very late as we had been travelling since 3:30 a.m. As check out is 10:30 it would be good to think check in could be a tad earlier.
We did have good holiday as I said, and the beach we walked to each morning was fantastic. We had some great meals locally and visited some lovely places. The house though was a bit of a let down. With a little money and energy it could be so much better.
Cosy, secluded, spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable with excellent quality linens.
This holiday was important to us as a family. We had dreadful weather but a great time. The cottage is well placed for walks and great to return to after exploring in all directions of the peninsula. The first time the bogs aloft were used in the night we all ended up in hysterics of laughter as we had never experienced bog pumps before. The garden is beautifully maintained and it was a shame the weather prevented us from using it more. Nice selection of books, my husband is doing guitar grades and was delighted to find helpful music books.
All together.....not sure what we expected...but...we had a lovely week in great surroundings which were above all, peaceful. A truly characterful cottage, thank you.
Also food was good in both St Keverne Pubs. Very good steaks.
