Why Mark Hatterman chose Waikiki

It is peaceful and quiet, on the cool side of the building, away from the wind, and away from the traffice noise.

Thank you VRBO.

VRBO is awesome. I still can't believe it. We spent 1/4 the price staying here instead of similar rooms offered by the hotels. And this room was much nicer than a bare bones hotel room. It was more like a condo than a hotel room. Plenty of comfy furniture made our stay terrific. There was a nice couch, two dining tables, good stereo system, and a giant screen TV. They had free WIFI, free laundry, free gym, free sauna. And a nice outdoor barbeque near the pool to cook dinner on.

Small and cramped

  • 3 of 5

There was good and bad, you get what you pay for. The hotel was nice, staff very friendly, area was good, central to a lot of Waikiki. We were able to walk most places. The bed was really comfortable and the tv was nice and large. I ended up booking thru their other website because it offered a discount. They manage 3 rooms, we stayed in 1711. We didn't find the room as well equipped as it should have been. The kitchen didn't have any dish cloths or tea towels, just a sponge, that could have had years worth of bacteria on it, who knows, and half a roll of paper towel. There were also no garbage bags and only half a roll of toilet paper. Those are basics that you should have. The kitchen was very small, I gave up on the idea of cooking anything for dinner, although we did use the toaster oven for toast and the electric frying pan for pancakes. I thought there was a hot plate, but I was wrong. They had these weird baskets under the counter for cutlery we found difficult to access, they didn't pull out. There was also an keyboard/organ in the room, and two table and chair sets. It made the room quite crowded. I would have preferred not to waste space with a keyboard but instead something to put my luggage on. Also no landline in the room which would have been nice. When you're from another country using your personal cell phone is very expensive. The balcony was very tiny, more of a walk space for fresh air than a balcony. The a/c worked but never got the room very cool. It wouldn't take much money or effort to improve the suite, buy some kitchen towels, a couple of beach towels, get a luggage rack or small table to use, remove the organ, put in a proper cutlery tray and stock the basic supplies. So the room was ok, but we expected better. Also no landline which sucked.

Owner's Response: Aloha and Mahalo Colleen. I contacted the property managers and they said they had not heard anything from you - the process is to call them if you need something. This is a condo, not a hotel room, so yes, there is more furniture. You can adjust the temperature of the air conditioner by sliding open the hand held remote. I guess someone stole the telephone, I will replace it. So sorry about that. Mahalo and E Komo Mai!

This is my third time in this condo and I love it!

  • 5 of 5

I have rented this condo three times already and I am always happy staying here. The building is very nice, bell boys, valet, fitness center, and yes free laundry facilities. The condo is all carpeted and has a comfortable huge sofa perfect to watch TV and enjoying the panoramic view. To me the best is that I feel safe, every-time I walk in and out of the building I am greeted with a warm hello. Definitely recommend to singles and couples looking for some quality quiet time in Waikiki

A Fun Time in Waikiki.

  • 5 of 5

A fun time was had by all. The professional booking agents were very helpful and the condo was professionally cleaned. It had everything you need, and then some. Much nicer than a hotel room. We walked to the beach each day and enjoyed the views. There are canoe races in the evenings that we enjoyed watching. You could watch the college baseball games in the evening under the lights of the ball park a few blocks away; it is very charming and scenic, you can also see lots of trees, so it looks very green which we liked as many Waikiki hotel rooms can just look at concrete; so this one is nicer and with little traffic noise. We saw a rainbow about every 4th day. This is our third time we have stayed in this condo. We plan to come each year. It is really fun and the people are real nice too. You can see the Friday night fierworks from the balcony.

Good value.

  • 5 of 5

The listing was accurate; the hotel is amazing, and the photos were accurate, the bed is really nice and everything is professionally cleaned and maintained. The booking agents were professional and have an on-line booking system that gives a 30% discount and lets you book immediately, everyone at the hotel was very friendly and we felt very safe, the neighborhood is very safe and somewhat away from the mobs of crowds which was nice for us because the walk through the park to the beach is peaceful and quiet. I highly recommend it - why pay twice the price to stay somewhere else? There are stores nearby to buy food etc. and the number 2 bus goes right to the Ala Moana shopping center for $2 and if you get a transfer, you may return for free within a few hours. The condo had some beach chairs we used at the beach. This was a very special trip for us and we had a great time.
