LEGAL & BEST LOCATION!
This charming three bedroom totally renovated apartment is ideally located in the newly designated legal "short term overlay" for legal short term rental in Charleston. Within the overlay, this property is in the southernmost part of that area which means it is as close as you can legally be to the South of Broad/Calhoun St historic districts without an owner present. Be sure to study the map because not all "historic" properties are so well situated.
HISTORIC AND MODERN
In addition, some properties in the overlay are new construction. When visiting historic Charleston, why would you want to stay in a new condo when you can stay in a "Carolopolis" award winning historic building which has been newly renovated with all the modern conveniences?
THE APARTMENT ITSELF
The apartment is entered from the second floor piazza overlooking historic rooftops, set in the back, away from any street noise. The living/kitchen space combines a gorgeous new kitchen that opens into a comfortable, charming living room. It has a brand new West Elm queen sofa sleeper with high end gel mattress. There are two matching club chairs, one more chair, and an eating counter with stools. The granite counter opens onto the brand new kitchen with granite counter tops, all new stainless steel appliances (stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, sink and disposal, microwave) and a spacious pantry. Over the counter is a inch flat screen tv. Throughout the apartment you will enjoy the beautiful hardwood floors.
The three designer BEDROOMS have full closets and chests of drawers and dressing tables, bedside tables and reading lamps. One bedroom has a new king bed and the other two rooms have new queen size beds. The two bathrooms are easily accessed and have new granite counters, new sinks and marble floors. Tucked into one bathroom is a stack washer/dryer
In one bedroom is a drop leaf antique mahogany table that can easily be set up for more formal dining in the living room and 6 lovely dining room chairs that complete the elegant setting.
The piazza is a typical charming Charleston feature and helps give our guests a true sense of being a "Charlestonian". We have seating for 6 where you can enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon cocktail after exploring the quaint streets, shops and restaurants.
There is free PARKING for 1 car and, for a fee, parking for a second car. On the first floor of this building is a newly renovated 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment and next door to these apartments is another VRBO by the same owner with 3 bedrooms. The three rentals combine to make an ideal setting for a larger group. The office of our property manager, Jamie, is in this building. She always receives rave reviews for her help in resolving your traveling issues. She will arrange your parking pass and can help you find a chef or book a fishing or sailing excursion. Just ask!
This apartment is fresh, cozy, comfortable and tasteful. It has been inspired by one of the best, authentic Charleston designers.
Slightly north of the College of Charleston on historic St. Philip Street this charming apartment is the perfect base to enjoy an enchanting Charleston experience. Charleston is like Rome, Italy in that most of the notable monuments and historic details are found in a fairly contained area. You can literally walk from the apartment to the southernmost extremes of the Historic District in under 30 minutes. This journey will take you through the Historic King Street District and the neighborhoods of Cannonborough, Elliottborough, Radcliffborough, Harleston Village and finally South of Broad until you reach the Battery itself.
Go east one block and you are on King Street, the home of designer shops, eclectic boutiques, antiques stores and a host of other fascinating shops as well as nationally acclaimed restaurants. Upper King is the new center of Charleston's renowned restaurant and night life. A recent survey of the "essential 18 Charleston Restaurants" has seven of their restaurants (Hominy Grill, Indago, The Grocery, The Macintosh, The Ordinary, Two Boroughs Larder, Xiao Bao Biscuit) within four blocks of the apartment.
This property of one of a group of properties called St Philip Square. It is possible to rent several properties if you have a wedding or corporate group or a family reunion. We are also bringing on several more rentals (some larger, some smaller) in the same area in the spring, so check back if you don’t find what meets your needs.
TEAVEL INSURANCE AND CREDIT CARD INFO
We strongly advise during the month of September particularly, and some into October that you purchase trip insurance. It is the peak of hurricane season in our area. The optional trip insurance offered through VRBO would cover any weather related cancellation. We do not offer refunds or date changes for any reason.
Also please note that when booking now or making payment we prefer "e" check. It is free for you and for us to use. If you choose the credit card option, VRBO/HomeAway charges 2.9% on all monies run through Credit. That fee will be taken from your security deposit before return of the deposit since we do offer a free option. It is your choice. Please ask Jamie if you have any questions at all.
