"Home Base" is just that, a 'home' for you to relax, enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of the Black Hills National Forest, and serve as a 'base' to use for launching for all your magical Hills' adventures.
For motorcycle enthusiasts, all roads to and from Home Base are paved.
Mount Rushmore is just minutes from Home Base. The Sturgis Motor Cycle Rally awaits (a sixty minute drive) and Kool Deadwood Nights ramps up another amazing opportunity for music, cars and fun! The wide variety of attractions and activities of the Black Hills are within minutes of Home Base and Hill City.
Our home features 2,000 square feet of living space. (There are no shared spaces with the adjoining townhome.) A large master suite with a king sized bed and full bathroom overlooks the Mickelson Trail and B.H. National Forest. The other two bedrooms are spacious with plenty of closet space, pillow-top queen sized beds, and a two-sink, Jack and Jill bathroom connecting the rooms. On this floor, you'll also find a sunny reading area and a full sized laundry facility.
The modern, fully equipped kitchen is adjacent to the dining area, allowing plenty of opportunities for cooking and conversation.
The oversized garage provides ample space for six full sized motorcycles or a large family vehicle and extra space for storing your recreational 'toys'.
Downtown Hill City is an easy half mile walk on the Mickelson Trail. Another bonus for Home Base residents is that you do NOT have to purchase a trail pass to use the Trail into Hill City. Home Base is within the city limits, therefore no pass is required. You might see deer and turkey on your way into town.
Dubbed, "The Heart of the Hills", you'll find yourself immersed in galleries, shops, museums, incredible dining and outdoor adventure access. It's a 20 minute drive to Mount Rushmore, 15 minutes to Crazy Horse and just 30 minutes to Rapid City. If gambling or history are your passions, Deadwood is 40 minutes north of Home Base. In the meantime, you are mere minutes from Custer State Park, Keystone, numerous caves, Black Hills Playhouse theater and countless lakes and hiking trails. Whew! You'll want a covered patio, outdoor grilling area and pastoral setting to catch your breath, and that is exactly what Home Base offers for you.
