Thanks for sharing this little piece of paradise! The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We couldn't have asked for anything more! The view--well, what can you say?? It was beautiful, peaceful and perfect! We only stayed for a long weekend and the only thing that made it a bit easier to leave was the rain that started as we left! We hope to come back again! Thanks for all!

A Vacation Jewel

  • 5 of 5

Susan and I enjoyed our week in the Garden Cottage very much. It is cozy and the kitchen is well equipped. The sunsets over the lake are gorgeous. We launched day trips by bicycle to the Womens Rights Museum in Seneca Falls and to Penn Yan and by car to the Corning Glass Museum and to an Auburn Doubledays ball game. The farms surrounding the lakes are stunning as are the many vineyards. I was able to fit in 3 rounds of golf at nearby tracks. We are glad we had the luck to find this gem on Seneca Lake.

Memorable two weeks

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is well equipped, comfortable and centrally located on Seneca lake. The lake front view has a western view for beautiful sunsets. The grounds are lovely and the owners gave us freshly cut flowers in the house. We spent two weeks using this cottage to sample wine, hiking, biking and visiting numerous museums and relaxing in the front yard enjoying the lake views.

We highly recommend this cottage and hope to return sometime in the future.

Charming, Quiet Cottage on Seneca Lake

  • 5 of 5

A charming cottage, quiet and comfortable, with a great view of Seneca Lake. Flowerbeds at the entry and along the fence on the back lot. Nicely decorated, very clean, and thoughtfully appointed, with nightlights, linens, cooking equipment, satellite TV. Excellent location for exploring wineries, historic sites, museums, and waterfalls in the area, plus quick access to town of Geneva with big Wegman's grocery store and restaurants. We stayed a week and had a wonderful time. Would stay here again.

Great Lake Seneca view

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I rented this cottage for a few days to use as our base for exploring the Finger Lakes region. This is a very quiet and peaceful cottage located directly on the East side of Lake Seneca with a great view of the lake. It is centrally located and only about an 8-10 minute drive to Geneva. There is stated to be 100 wineries in this area and I think it would be safe to say that you can reach the majority of them within a 30 minute drive in multiple directions. Watkins Glen and Ithica are both around 30 minute drives. A must see in the area is the Taughannock Falls State Park near Ithaca. This has the highest waterfall East of the Rockies. It was a wonderful find that we didn't know existed. There is a very good winery a couple miles from the cottage (Ventosa) which has good wines as well as good lunch selections. Three Brothers Estates which includes winery/brewery/coffee house is only 3-4 miles away and we tried the beer tasting at this location and were not disappointed.

Everything you could possibly need is furnished with this rental. We have stayed in many VRBO rentals throughout the US and the care taken to outfit this rental is top notch right down to non stick pans that are not all scratched and a Kuerig coffeemaker with free K-cups of all types. The unit was clean and well taken care of. Some of the furnishings were a little older but they were maintained in like new condition. The main bedroom appears as though it was converted from a sunroom and it has wonderful views of the lake. The LR and table where you would sit to eat your meals is also facing the lake and has a nice view. The cottage is approximately 1 mile from a main hwy. down a little traveled paved road. There are neighboring homes and they are maintained fairly well. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone.

Owner's Response: We were very pleased with receiving this review from our guests in April. It is our wish that our guests will feel at home while staying in our cottage. This couple actually brought back pamphlets from wineries and other attractions they visited and added them to what we had provided. Their thoughtful gestures are very appreciated. We are encouraged by the detailed review and appreciate the efforts taken for the benefit of our future guests.
