About the property

2 Br/2 Ba Condo With Tropical Resort Luxury, Just Steps From The Beach.

***Discounted Rates in December and Early January...The rates have been greatly lowered during the holiday season to fill the last two weeks of availability for several months*** Warm, inviting, modern tropical theme, in a stunning 2B/2B condo with ocean views. Everything refurnished in 2016.

Indulge in 360 degrees of beauty in this gated complex on bluffs looking over the Pacific. The condo is about 70 feet from a spa and a pool overlooking the ocean. With direct beach access, you are only steps away from a romantic stroll beside the sea. In the summer, watch the sunset over the ocean from the living room. Or sip wine in the hot tub, and admire a view that extends from La Jolla to the south to the Santa Ana Mountains to the north. The spacious clubhouse has a panoramic view, WiFi Internet, and two saunas. There is a designated covered parking spot directly underneath the condo.

The interior was completely refurbished in 2016 to provide a luxurious tropical resort feeling. The living room has a plush triple-reclining couch, perfect for watching movies on the large-screen TV. The living room also features an incredibly-comfortable hanging chair, which swivels from the couch to the panoramic windows. Get into the tropical theme by trying the Caribbean steel pan drum. An instruction guide and music book makes it easy to play your favorite island songs, and rubber-to-metal drumsticks produce beautiful festive music without disturbing the neighbors.

The condo offers four dining location: a table on the patio with an ocean view; an elegant glass dining table that seats six; two bar stools with backrests at the black granite kitchen counter; and a lift-top living room table which is ideal for snacking or eating while watching a movie.

The interior features theater surround sound, travertine flooring, a deluxe Silhouette temperature-controlled wine cooler, a jetted Jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom, and granite counters in both bathrooms. The condo has two HDTVs: a 55" Internet television with cable, Netflix, Amazon Prime, DVD, and DVR, and a 31” television with Apple TV.

The condo is walking distance from two of San Diego’s most chic shopping areas: downtown Del Mar and the Cedros Design District. The Del Mar Racetrack is only three blocks away, and Fletcher Cove is half a mile north on the beach. Best of all, you can stroll to over a dozen restaurants, including local diners, Thai, Mexican, seafood, pizza and many others.

The local train depot is less than a mile away, and a train can zip you to historic Old Town, Qualcomm Stadium, the Gaslamp district, or downtown. It is a quick drive to go hiking in Torrey Pines or kayaking in La Jolla. Other famous San Diego sites include Balboa Park, the Midway aircraft carrier, San Diego Zoo, the Zoo Safari Park, Legoland, Sea World, Petco Park, Coronado Island, Torrey Pines Golf Course, the Birch Aquarium, and the Point Loma lighthouses.

There is no smoking and a one-week minimum stay. I’m happy to answer any questions.

About Jerome Connelly Farmer

I grew up in Michigan, but went to Stanford University and fell in love with California. I've lived in many beautiful parts of California, but haven't found any location as ideal as the beaches north of San Diego, especially Solana Beach.

Jerome Connelly Farmer purchased this condo in 2016

Why Jerome Connelly Farmer chose Solana Beach

This complex is the only building I've found with a Jacuzzi directly overlooking the ocean.

What makes this condo unique

Some of my favorite memories are family vacations in Maui, and the condo has been designed to recreate the warm elegance of a Kaanapoli resort.

Pleasant and convenient 2-bedroom condo

  • 4 of 5

[Written by Lisa's husband, Gary.]

Jerome's descriptions about the condo, the complex, the beach, and the surrounding area are accurate and not hyped; every element is as pleasant as promised. I particularly enjoyed having coffee on the small ocean-side porch, watching the surfers and the sunsets. Jerome was responsive when we had questions. I would recommend this condo without hesitation to someone looking for a pleasant 2-bedroom in Del Mar with ocean views.

The Del Mar Shores Terrace complex is very beautiful; its pathways are lovely, and relaxing to stroll. Obviously the beach is an attraction; one can walk for miles and besides surfers there are interesting tidal pools and caves. We also enjoyed long walks through the neighborhoods to the north, particularly Pacific Avenue.

The week we stayed (last week of December) the complex was performing major maintenance every day on the main building's roof, which was somewhat noisy and impaired the feelings of privacy and security, so if something like that might be an issue with you check into it before reserving any condo in any complex. We did not find it a problem, and I note that all the complex's amenities remained fully available.

The only other warning I'd give is that this condo is not appropriate for children under the age of about 8, because the dining space in particular is quite filled with furniture, with some hard edges that could be a danger to an active child.

Regarding local restaurants, our group prefers small informal ones frequented by locals. We liked the food and service so much at both Naked Cafe and Hide Away Cafe that we returned to each for second visits. Station Sushi was neither cheap nor fast but worth both the money and wait - and it was open on Christmas Eve!

Regarding services in the area, we got appallingly bad customer service from Enterprise at the airport - they admitted we had reserved a car, but did not have it or any other car available, and management simply said "There's nothing we can do" and refused to even try to find us a car from another company, leaving us effectively stranded at the airport. We got by on excellent local Uber and Lyft drivers for a couple days until Budget Rent-a-car in La Jolla opened after Christmas and came to our rescue; their price was good, the car was great, and their customer service was exemplary.

Great condo in Great location

  • 5 of 5

Loved the condo and the area. Close enough to San Diego, but without all the city hassle. Everything you need is close by. Can see the ocean from the balcony, but a 2 minute walk brings you to the cliff overlooking the ocean. What a view. Beach is not crowded.

Perfect Beach Getaway

  • 5 of 5

If you have ever walked into a Hotel room or vacation rental to find out that you did not get what you thought you were paying for, you do not have to worry about that with this Solana Beach condo! This property is exactly as Jerome has portrayed it in the photos and description. The location is nearly unbeatable with just a two minute walk down to the beach, easy access to restaurants, grocery stores, surf shops, and Hwy 101. We didn't get to meet Jerome in person, but he was very easy to get in touch with, and provided us with all of the information we needed well in advance. We are already planning to book another stay as soon as the 2017 reservations open up. Thank you for having us Jerome.

What A Great Place!!!

  • 5 of 5

There is very little that we found other than FANTASTIC! The condo is well appointed, super comfortable and fully loaded. Great access to the pool area and private beach. The long staircase from the pool to the beach can be viewed as a splash of welcomed exercise then the long walks on the beach, the icing on the cake. This condo is centrally located to shopping and restaurants.

The condo owner was exemplary in his communication and in ensuring that everything was going well, we were comfortable and all our expectations were being met.

I would highly recommend this condo to friends and family.

Outstanding family vacation in Solana Beach

  • 5 of 5

My family of four just wrapped up an awesome 1-week vacation at this condo in Solana Beach, CA. The homeowner, Jerome, was the most gracious host. He met us at the house upon arrival to give us a tour of the property and amenities. We felt completely at home while we were there. We loved the pool and hot tub with amazing views of the Pacific Ocean. Beach access was great. The place was recently renovated and it felt very vibrant, fresh, and relaxing. We never lacked anything during our stay. Our young girls loved the swinging chair in the living room and the steel drum. The condo is very close to Del Mar Horse Racetrack (we had a blast there) and was very close to good shopping and many restaurants. It was in a perfect general location for us since we went to LEGOLAND up north, San Diego Safari Park out east and all of the San Diego sites south of us (Zoo, Birch Aquarium, USS Midway, Coronado Beach, Balboa Park). A week flew by quickly. Would definitely come back to this great place and would highly recommend it.
