Great beach getaway

The house and location were amazing! Plenty of room and all necessities you need. Kitchen well stocked with appropriate pots and pans. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The yard was awesome for playing. Definitely will stay again!

As advertised- wonderful family hangout

Property manager (Carroll Realty) was wonderful! Very responsive and helpful. House was great! Plenty of bedrooms and comfortable beds. House was as advertised; older but wonderful location and great for family just hanging out. Right on the beach with large yard for frisbee or throwing a football. Kids loved the ping pong. We enjoyed it very much!

Xmas

We liked the property. We stayed over Xmas for a week. Plenty of bedrooms, baths, views were excellent although the house sits back from the beach as indicated by the pictures. But it is a very pretty setting, and very close to shopping. The only problem we had was with gettomg the attention of the property manager to fix the main TV ( we wanted cable on the TV to see the football games). They were closed for several days over the holidays and the other time they were busy fixing pipes at other places because of the unusual cold. ). There were limited supplies of basics at the unit which we found annoying ( no salt and pepper e.g.). But we would recommend the house - the beach out front was great, love Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island.

Great Stay for an Active Group

What others have stated is true, the house is a bit dated, but accurate to the pictures. Did we care, nope! We had plenty of room to eat and hang out with our group of 7 plus a dog. The back yard was the bomb. Large enough for Croquet, Bocce, and even Disk Golf (at least for our level of skill). Loved the views, loved the proximity to the shops and bars, and appreciated response from the property manager Carroll Realty when the fridge went out. There is a spare in the garage so it was not earth shattering and the tech had it fixed the next day. In the meantime the property management group delivered a cooler filled with bags of ice so we could keep keeping on. Great customer service, thanks! If you are looking for a base on the beach with lots of room for fun activities, this is the spot.

Location location location

Great house for our needs. It is large and sleeps many. It is somewhat worn-the linens, the furnishings, but the porches and view make up for it. Lots of spaces to play and work. We had a wonderful experience!!! Hope to come back soon and often!

Awesome vacation!

New boardwalk leading out to the beach was wonderful! The house was very comfortable. We had to be very careful with the toilets due to the septic tank, so bring septic tank safe toilet paper if you stay here. We loved the back porch most of all!

Great house for a large group

This house is well loved and cared for. Lawn care people came while we were there. The big yard is great for kids. The layout is good for multiple parts of a large family if needed. Great porch with rockers and table for eating.

Beach Heaven

We loved the quiet charm, the view, the comfort, the large living spaces, dinner on the huge screened porch, the beautiful beach, and the boardwalk beach access. We enjoyed it thoroughly. It was clean and well-equipped. It has everything you need. The Isle of Palms is an adorable island community, and we got fresh local seafood at Simmons.

Beach Escape

Needing a beach escape, we loaded up our 3 pups and zipped from Tennessee to the Isle of Palms. We loved the beach cottage. It was perfect, spacious, clean, and had a beautiful yard...oceanfront! We will definitely rent this house again! Great time!

Great Family Vacation!

We stayed here and brought our dog and the location couldn't be better. Private boardwalk to beach, chairs and beach toys provided, plenty of space to sleep and play. Location is perfect because you do not have to carry everything to the beach, you can just run home! The house has been well-loved but still does the job and the beds were clean and comfortable. Out door showers were an added bonus. Loved having the added ping pong table! Would definitely stay again.

We had a great time in this nice, spacious house, but it was not entirely clean.

When you rent a house at that price, you expect it to be clean. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes. The microwave had a bowl of something in it with mold all over it. There was moldy food left on top of the refrigerator. The master bath had not been cleaned. There were dirty towels left and soap left in the shower. Several light bulbs were out. There were cigarette butts left in an ashtray on the screened porch. The screen on the door of the porch was blown out. The windows on the sliding doors were very dirty. As I said, the house was great. It was just the cleanliness of it.

Old and in need of some TLC

The house is older and that was what we expected but a number of items in the House were very dated. We loved the back porch but the ceiling fans are rusty and don’t work. Some of the furniture is rusty and the rest has peeling paint that sticks to your skin. Most of the chairs are cheap plastic and one broke beneath my elderly aunt, no injury thank goodness. All the cushions for the outside and inside furniture are nasty and need to be replaced. Also the rec room equipment is missing,broken or very old. We’ve stayed in IOP before and loved the beach but maybe because we were too close to the public access as we were surprised by the aggressive police force. They were constantly driving , too fast, up and down the beach and informed us quite aggressively and needlessly that there was no alcohol allowed on the beach. My 71 year old mother and 70 something years old aunt and uncle were taken aback by this and worried about it all week. I’m not sure if they have been having crime problems there but for a bunch of old farts and grand kids enjoying the beach the police were way overboard. We’ve loved coming here over the years but are having second thoughts about next year. I also didn’t select “I loved it” above, it wouldn’t let me change it.

I'm so sorry they needlessly bothered you so much, but we definitely do not have a lot of crime. I have also forwarded your concerns on to the homeowner and I'm sure she will replace the cushions and chairs - no problem! Also, the ceiling fans on the porch are brand new and were replaced during your stay (we informed you of this upon your check in that maintenance would be by the next day) - they are working great! We hope you will return to IOP! Please let us know how we can assist you in finding a great beach rental home in the future.

Great family vacation!

There were 10 of us and the facilities were more than adequate - very roomy and fun near the beach. The veranda over-looking the ocean and backyard was very comfortable and a good place to eat. The only bad thing is that there was no re-cycling bin to use - so we used the trash for everything - directed by the town agency one of us called.

In town for a wedding

This house was perfect! We had a large group of mixed ages (2-80) and this house was fantastic! We had an Easter egg hunt and a small wedding run through in the HUGE yard and we loved the beach access! We knew we hit the jackpot when the kids did not touch their electronic devices for the entire weekend!

Carroll Realty is the property management company chosen by the homeowner and requires that their rental agreement be signed prior to occupying the property.

Cancellation Policy:
Reservations made and cancelled within 24 hours will be refunded in full. After 24 hours, our cancellation policy goes into effect. Reservations cancelled 6 months prior to arrival will be refunded in full. If a reservation is cancelled less than 6 months prior to arrival, a full deposit refund less a $100.00 booking fee will be made only if the unit is re-rented for the same time and price, and at a pro-rated rate if only rented for the partial amount. The guest will be responsible for the difference in price if re-rented at a lower rate. We do offer and strongly encourage every traveler to purchase travel insurance as well for an added 10.8% or 7% charge depending on which plan you select. If accepted, the 10.8% travel insurance plan must be paid in full within 14 days of making a reservation or you may add the 7% plan up until 30 days prior to your arrival date or final payment is paid, whichever comes first. Power/ weather related cancellation: Carroll Realty does not issue refunds due to acts of nature such as: weather, road conditions, snow conditions, power outages, or forest fires. Additionally, Carroll Realty will not issue refunds in the event of a pandemic (for example, Covid-19) or acts of nature such as a hurricane. In light of these events, we strongly urge every reservation to purchase one of the two travel insurance plans that we offer. Hurricane season technically runs from June through October, but is especially more prone to occur in our area from late August through early October.
