About Michelle Dieleman
We are from Grand Rapids, Michigan and were born and raised there. We have four adult children and two granddaughters. We came to Buena Vista because our friends own a vacation home here, and we fell in love with the town, the mountains, and the people. We also immediately fell in love with this house when we first saw it and realized it was for sale. We plan on using this home for a retirement getaway and consider it our home away from home already.
Michelle Dieleman purchased this House in 2015
Why Michelle Dieleman chose Buena Vista
This home is so full of charm, history, and character, and is located in such a beautiful setting and quaint little town that we couldn't resist the opportunity to live here. It's just an amazing place!!!
What makes this House unique
Being close to the Cottonwood Hot Springs, close to the town, close to the mountains and the Arkansas River. You'll also enjoy seeing all the wildlife.

Fantastic, charming little house that's close to everything!
This historic home is right on Main street, within walking distance to many local places (restaurants, etc) and only a 10 minute drive from both Cottonwood hot springs and Mt Princeton hot springs. The house was very well kept and comfortable, stocked with everything you could possibly need. The property manager made sure the gas stoves were running before we got there, so the house was nice and warm and cozy on a chilly day! We even woke up one morning to a couple of large mule deer eating their breakfast in the back yard! The fenced yard made it really easy to have our dogs there, which is important to us when traveling. Overall, just a great little place to stay in a great little town!
Loved our stay at this wonderfully cozy Victorian house right near downtown BV!
We really enjoyed spending my 50th Birthday at this super cozy restored historic Victorian house right near downtown BV. The owner and caretaker were extremely helpful and available if needed. We cooked in the simple but efficiently outfitted kitchen and loved that we could bring our dogs and let them romp in the secure, fenced in, yard. Walking to the Lariat for birthday dinner was great! We will definitely be back for another stay!
The house was great! There was a ton of charm and you can really tell the owners put a lot of thought into the home. There’s a great little place just down the street where we picked up a lasagne to eat at home and enjoyed a fire in the chimnea. Our dog Standley loved the huge yard. It couldn’t have been better!
Charming house stocked with everything you could need to relax, cook and enjoy your stay
Great little house with character
The house met all of our needs. It was able to sleep 4 adults and 2 kids comfortably. The property manager who lives next door greeted us when we arrived and was very friendly and happy to help with anything we needed. We were able to easily walk to downtown Buena Vista for a couple of wedding events we were there for which made it very convenient. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Perfect home for our stay
This home was absolutely wonderful. Lovely and old fashioned but still with modern touches (modern TV which we didn’t watch).
The manager next door was extremely kind and attentive and responsive to any help we needed.
I would give it six stars if I could. I don’t know why you would even consider staying at a hotel if you could stay here.
The historical downtown area is walking distance with quaint restaurants, shops and coffee shops. We are 7 short blocks from the beautiful Arkansas River. The golf course is 1 mi away. Enjoy the Mountain view of the Collegiate Peaks! An old fashion drive in movie theater is 3 miles up the street. Cottonwood Hot Springs is the perfect place to soak and is just 5 miles west. We are directly located on the bike route.
