In 2014 we purchased a log home shell--no interior walls, flooring, paneling or anything. We completely finished it ourselves. We are retired and live most of the year in northern Wisconsin. We purchased this house in VA to be close to our kids and grandkids in Raleigh and Charlotte. We stay here in late fall and early spring.

Why Owner chose Fancy Gap
We loved the view and the privacy. Finishing it was a challenge we enjoyed.

Perfect Peaceful Getaway
We stayed at this peaceful cabin for a week while visiting relatives nearby. We normally stay at a hotel in Mount Airy, but found Five Springs and thought we would give it a try. This was our first experience renting through Homeaway. It was truly worth it. The view was amazing and the cabin was clean and well kept. The kids loved the loft and the Foosball. The owner was quick to communicate and helpful. Hopefully it will be available the next time we visit the area. I highly recommend staying there.
Thank you, James. Your family is welcome back any time. You did a fantastic job of caring for and cleaning the cabin while you were there. Thank you again.
Beautiful Place to Stay
Beautiful Property, week kept. All the amenities we needed for a relaxing vacation.
Thank you for taking care of our home while you were there.
We LOVED the Five Springs cabin! It had everything we needed and then some, we appreciated the small details. The view was fabulous and the location private. Wendy was responsive to all communication.
Very nice and well appointed cabin; we enjoyed our stay here. The road in can be challenging for those with small cars - it's winding, up and down, and gravel. My smaller Nissan Rogue did OK. Once you get to the cabin, it is really nice and worth the trip. Visit the waterfall!
This is a beautiful ridden away jewel
The home is very clean and well stocked with all the necessities. One of the most enjoyable features in the front porch. You can see for miles the lovely area of Virginia. At night there is a view of more stars than you can ever imagine. The beds are very comfortable and it's so easy to rest there. The host Wendy was extremely kind and accessible by phone and email for anything we needed.
The road is a bit secluded but after traveling it for a couple of days it's really not a problem.
We had a Beautiful week there.
Thank you so much Wendy for sharing your beautiful place with us. We were travelling to NC for a wedding and found this place. it was worth the longer drive to the wedding to stay here. Wendy called the night we arrived to make sure everything was ok and mad us feel very welcomed. If you stay here take a trip over to Stone Mountain State park there is a 200 foot waterfall that will not disappoint.
