Parks in Islamorada, Village of Islands: Just 2 miles north is Islamorada Founders Park at MM 87 Bayside, which offers activity or relaxation for the whole family. An Olympic-sized pool with diving area, a shallow water beach, water sports rentals, ball fields, fishing jetty, bocce, tennis and basketball courts, vita course with 18 exercise stations, multi-purpose path, skate park and dog park all are within the 40-acre park. Fees may apply. Village municipal parks also include the Islamorada Library Beach and Anne’s Beach. There is the Windley Key State Geological Site, a state park, at the site of a former coral rock quarry. In addition to shady walks through unique foliage, fossils of sea creatures can be seen throughout the park. A free guidebook is available at the visitors center for use during your stay in the park. Islamorada also offers an 18-mile bicycle path that extends the length of the Village.

Scuba/Snorkel! : Islamorada, long recognized as the 'Sport Fishing Capital of the World,' is now an icon among sport divers for a similar reason: a massive population of tropical marine life. High profile coral heads and broad ledges shelter huge congregates of French grunt and goat fish, while regal queen angelfish casually graze amid the reef recesses. Friendly green moray eels swim freely along the spur-and-groove channels, and reclusive nurse sharks lurk beneath the overhangs. Islamorada offers a wide variety of shallow coral reefs, mini walls, shipwrecks, and even an underwater habitat for scientific research, the Aquarius. To learn more about Islamorada or any other manner of local lore, stop by the Chamber of Commerce at MM 82.5.

*The Eagle - This 287 ft ship was intentionally sunk in 110 ft of water as a dive attraction, cloaked in sponge & coral, populated by grunt, harpoon & jack. *Davis Reef - Reef revered for its incredible concentration of grunts & schoolmaster snapper, as well as several amiable resident green morays, long accustomed to benign interaction with the dive masters. *Alligator Reef - Now marked by a 136-ft-tall lighthouse, on this spot in 1822 the USS Alligator grounded & sank while protecting a convoy from pirates; remains of the wreck are the twin piles of ballast stones, but the coral reef - in just 25 ft of water - is vibrant and alive. *Conch Wall - Offering a precipitous sloping wall & captivating concentrations of barrel sponge & gorgonia punctuating seafloor. *Crocker Wall - A 450+-foot-long wall in 50 ft of water. The wall has a 30 ft decline and features grunts, yellow tail &grouper with spur-and-groove coral & block coral.

*Pickles Reef - Reef's minutia in 15-25 ft of water.

About Craig Drucker

My wife and I both grew up in New York by the ocean. She is a Rockaway girl, I'm from Atlantic Beach. Both of us were born with "sand in our shoes." We traveled to Miami on our wedding night and have been living there for over 30 years. We recently purchased this home and look forward to spending our vacation time in this paradise. We plan to continually update our home and continue the great service that the prior owner provided to vacationers.

Craig Drucker purchased this house in 2016

Why Craig Drucker chose Islamorada

My wife and I had been looking to purchase a vacation home in the keys for almost 2 years before we came upon Anglers Reef in Islamorada. This property, finally, had everything we dreamed of; beach, boat dock, resort pool, security, an ocean view, quiet location and walking distance to restaurants and bars. On top of all that, the house is in a quant Key West style community in the middle of Islamorada.

What makes this house unique

Our house has been a popular unit in the rental program since 2010. One of the reasons we purchased this home is that we were very impressed with the great reviews (39) praising the house, facilities, and community. Most importantly, every reviewer said they had a great vacation. We are very excited to have the opportunity to vacation here and offer this unique spot in paradise for others to enjoy as well.

Beautiful house with all the amenities

  • 5 of 5

Our recent stay was wonderful! The weather was great and the location couldn't be beat. Our house was full of everything we needed and all we had to do was supply the food. The location is close to many things to see and do, and it was maintained very well. The pool area was clean and friendly for all members of the family. Overall this was just a great place to stay.

Beautiful home, scenic setting, tons of amenities.

  • 5 of 5

This was our first stay in the Upper Keys area and we cannot believe our good fortune in finding this rental home in Anglers Reef, Islamorada. Craig and Felice's home had every detail covered in all the rooms. I've never seen such a well-appointed rental home! Plenty of room for the four of us; I loved that both bedrooms were large and had their own en-suite bathroom. Laundry on second floor was great. And most of all, the master bedroom has a huge balcony with tons of windows and a million dollar view of the ocean. Fabulous! The kitchen had everything we needed and the downstairs space was open floor plan which was great. (3) TVs and every channel you can imagine. There is a first floor balcony also with same view as the second floor balcony. The Anglers Reef community has so much to offer. Beautiful pool overlooking the ocean; (2) small private beaches with chairs and tables; the use of our home's own kayak; if you like wildlife this is the place! We saw manatees, osprey, all kinds of wading birds, iguanas, stingrays, nurse shark, barracuda, and all kinds of sea life. Tons of great restaurants all over the Upper Keys area. Good shopping options too. We will definitely be back next year! LOVE this house, this community, this town. Thank you to the Druckers for providing such a memorable experience.

Amazing location, amazing house!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week in paradise! The house is beautiful, the location is perfect, and the owner is helpful and very responsive. The house is furnished with everything you could possibly need for a vacation in Florida. There was even coffee for the Keurig! We could not have found a better place to stay during our visit to the Keys. We are already planning our next trip to Angler's Reef.

Well-maintained property in a beautiful community.

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our week-long stay at this Angler's Reef home. We are a family of 4 with two young children. A lovely welcome basket greeted us after a long day of traveling. There were pool and beach toys, beach chairs, games, puzzles, and books, a kitchen with abundant utensils and basic supplies, information about the local area and restaurants, a Sonos system, and plenty of TV (xfinity and Netflix). The owner promptly answered all questions. The community is also well-maintained with groomed beaches and a gorgeous pool that was the perfect temperature even for adults! There are clean bathrooms at the pool. The view of the ocean from the community is amazing. We enjoyed the provided kayak and boaters will appreciate the calm and protected marina. There are sandbars right out front that were fun to explore. Overall, it was a wonderful vacation.

Islamorada is located in the Upper Keys, about halfway between Miami and Key West. Nicknamed the Sport Fishing Capital of the World and known to have the best restaurants in the Keys, there is much to do in, under, above or near the waters surrounding Islamorada. In the water... you can boat, kayak, para sail, jet ski, snorkel, dive or even cruise out to the Alligator Reef Lighthouse. You can also swim with dolphins, sea lions and sea rays at Theater of the Sea (less than a mile south). Or if you have had enough water, check out the local parks, pampering spas, exclusive shops and a large array of amazing restaurants. Be sure to catch a sunset from the many restaurants or bars along the gulf side.

Windley Key Fossil Reef Geological State Park is a Florida State Park located at mile marker 85.5 near Islamorada. It was a former quarry used by Henry Flagler in the early 1900s to help his building of the Overseas Railroadmoon, adults may want to head over to Morada Bay & Pierre's for their famous Full Moon Parties, beach parties with bonfires in the sand, specialty drinks and live entertainment (covers apply).
