Searching for a home that highlights the character of historic New Orleans yet beckons with luxurious amenities, thoughtful comforts, and stylish furnishings? Look no further than this exceptionally restored quintessential New Orleans Shotgun home!

From the double parlors styled for enjoying the company of friends, to the private and restful two bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed and luxuriously layered linens, you'll delight in returning home after exploring the city. A full restoration ensures modern function and amenities while historic pocket doors, mantels and original floors deliver the original historic character.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD

The Lower Garden District is a prime location within the city for visitors and business travelers alike. The Warehouse District, Garden District and French Quarter are easy to reach on foot. The house is one block to shops and restaurants on Magazine Street and 4 blocks (0.4mi) to the Street Car on St. Charles Ave. French Truck, a wonderful local roaster and coffee shop is 2 blocks from the house as is Barrel Proof bourbon bar and local Courtyard Brewery.

THE SPACE

This is a very private, quiet, large apartment is within a "double shotgun house" and has access to both the front and back porches/patios. The two bedrooms are completely private (no pass through rooms like some New Orleans shotgun style homes) and the master has an en suite bath. The other unit is a small one bedroom apartment on the left side of the home.

The front room has a sofa which converts to a comfortable twin size, creating a third bed. An additional queen air mattress can be set up to accommodate children or other guest(s) in one of the front rooms.

PARKING

Plentiful free street parking can be found right in front of the home, a bonus in New Orleans!

Saints Fans (& Visitors)! Great convenient location for games and events at the Superdome or the Smoothie Center. The house is 1.3 mi to the Dome.

Attention Conventioneers! This home is so close to the Convention Center. You will love being a quick walk to a relaxing and comfortable home! By Google Maps calculation it is 0.6 mi walking distance to the main entrance (closer if you use one of the other entrances).

We provide an independent check-in process with a coded lockbox. No need to arrange a set time to meet us but we live on the block and are available if needed!

Some of the most enriching travel experiences center around feeling a personal connection to a place. Staying in this home is a unique way to experience New Orleans local culture and we provide a well-qualified locals list of favorite restaurants, music venues and cultural attractions!

About Ro

I'm a historic preservationist and designer and live in the Lower Garden District with my young family. I love to travel for pleasure but also spent over a decade traveling domestically and internationally for a corporate job. As such, I understand a traveler's expectations for comfort and amenities but believe that true luxury travel is anticipating a guest's needs before they do. In my home, you'll find unexpected delights and touches that really add to one's travel experience.

Why Ro chose Lower Garden District

This house is stylish and cozy and retains so much original historic charm. If you want to experience living in a New Orleans home with soaring 12 foot ceilings, pocket doors, and floor to ceiling windows, this home will speak to you. The location is great for returning New Orleans lovers and first timers alike. A quiet street tucked amongst the city's most desirable neighborhoods and attractions.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Ro and Seth were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcomed. The shotgun was charming, updated, very spacious and comfortable. The neighborhood was in a central location, a block off of Magazine, quiet and very convenient to the French Quarter and to the Garden District. We would definitely stay there again.

Perfect location

  • 4 of 5

Two couples stayed over 4 days to explore NOLA. The house was in a great location just a few short blocks from a trolley stop on St. Charles. Lovely, comfortable accommodations, can’t wait to return!

Gorgeous NOLA home

  • 5 of 5

This was the best experience I have ever had on VRBO. The owner, Ro was so easy to communicate and work with. The location was easily accessible to all the different fun areas of NOLA without being in the middle of party central. The house is fantastic. The pictures on the site are great, but really don't do the home justice. Very unique, obviously very loved house by an owner who really knows what she's doing as a rental owner. Looking forward to an excuse to return to New Orleans and to this property.

Wonderful home in the LGD

  • 5 of 5

Ro’s home was perfect for our weekend getaway to New Orleans. Conveniently located to all of the places our group of 5 people wanted to spend their time: Magazine street, the French Quarter, the Warehouse District, etc. The street is quiet and parking was no problem the entire weekend. The decor of the home is very well thought out, and while we were out a good bit during our stay, you could easily stay in and enjoy the home just as much. Ro was very quick to answer the one or two questions that we had in regards to the home. Overall, I would highly recommend this lower garden district home.

elegantly designed NOLA home

  • 5 of 5

We loved Ro's home. Her place was beautifully designed, so much inspiration here! The home is located in the lower garden district. Within walking distance there are a few coffee shops and a couple bars. The WWII museum and the Superdome are also less than a mile away. Most other activities we took a Lyft to.

Thank you Ro!

Perfection in NOLA

  • 5 of 5

A group of 5 of us stayed for 5 nights while we were attending a conference at the convention center. Ro’s home was perfect - absolutely gorgeous, comfortable and convenient. We had one small issue with the key and Ro was very responsive and addressed it immediately. We would be thrilled to stay there again next time we are in New Orleans!
