We can have your fridge full of all you require for your trip upon arrival. Should you need a babysitter, we have licensed sitters available for hire through a local nanny exchange. Maybe it's a special occasion--We are here to make it memorable. No request is too large or small. We look forward to being your cottage to visit, and make memories for years to come.

About Apri Fore
We are a local couple born and raised here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We attended the local high school located just a few miles from the property. We own a thriving local business that has been providing jobs locally for over 12 years. We believe in our community, and make many efforts to make sure our children will enjoy this area as much as we do.
Apri Fore purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Apri Fore chose French Broad
In the past, we were homeowners in a subdivided neighborhood. Our dream was to raise our children where they could run and play without the confines of fences, or traffic. We fell upon the farm by happenstance, and fell in love. We purchased the farm with 2 homes on it, and felt one make us a comfortable place to raise our children, and the other could provide lots of memories for those who come to enjoy what we call home everyday.
What makes this Cottage unique
This home was the original farm house to the homestead. When we walked through, we knew we could bring back the charm that so many others had enjoyed over the years. We tried to re-use and recycle many of the original building components from 1939, when the house was first built. The rough saw hewn floors are original, and were restored after nearly 40 years under layers of old flooring. The original clapboard siding was restored after removing the current siding. We tried to keep as much character in the old homestead, while offering lots of new touches, such as granite, stainless steel appliances, and a walk in stone floor shower.

BE CAREFUL with this one, for both your SAFETY and your FINANCES!
This house is beautiful inside; however, it is on the middle of 2 very busy roads and a farm with active machinery. Upon arrival, the lock to the sliding glass door was broken, and staff had neglected to secure it. There were wires hanging from the bedroom ceiling where a smoke detector had once been. After we left, we thanked Apri for our stay. Apri replied with a series of photos of dog hair, dry wall damage, and other damage, which was present in the house when we arrived. Apri refused any further communication with us, except to inform us that we would not get our very large security deposit back. Of note, we had approval for the dogs and we have rented houses with our dogs from VRBO for 10 plus years. This is our first horrible experience! BE CAREFUL if you choose this house!
Just such an enchanting place!
We enjoyed the property from the moment we arrived. The mountain view’s and sweeping hills bring something new every morning. The goats and cows are very welcoming as well. April was great about making sure we had everything we needed. Just an overall amazing experience we will be returning!
Morning View in the Mountains
I had been wanting to visit Asheville for several years and when searching for a place to stay we settled on this place, trusting it's presentation on the website. I'm happy to say that we were not disappointed.
The house is very nicely renovated and furnished. All appliances are new and top quality, including the fridge, washer and dryer, Keurig machine, and fireplace mounted hi-def television. Beds, couches, and chairs were all comfortable, and you won't have any trouble feeling at home with all the ambient lighting options.
Located on a open hilltop, surrounded by farms, woods, and beautiful mountain scenery, we found it pretty easy to relax on the spacious deck and take in the view. On the deck there is a 5 burner propane grill that is up to most any task you could put it to as well as a large table and ample seating. I found sunrises to be especially enjoyable, as the sun peaks over the mountains and through the eastern treeline.
The place is fairly small but is cozy and well equipped. There was nothing we found we needed and were left wanting. A very nice Ingles grocery store is a short, scenic drive away for any other needs as well as a variety of restaurants, convenience stores, etc.
The house is not secluded as it is fairly close to nearby houses and to the roads at the intersection it is located. Traffic is pretty light to moderate and we didn't find it to be any detriment to our privacy or relaxation.
If any of this sounds to your liking I would highly recommend this place and would also like to add that all communication with the owner were pleasant and very accommodating. Thanks and I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!
The house was clean and smelled divine
The house was absolutely beautiful. The view was beyond amazing. The goats were friendly The shower was great. The host was in contact with me at all time and was so polite. Will definitely use the property again.
We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. Thanks you for the kind words!
This is a review but more than that it is a super heart felt thanks to April and her family. We were evacuating Hurricane Irma from Southwest Florida, four adults with pets, slightly panicked and with short notice. April responded to my inquiry in moments and expressed that she was happy to take us in. Everything you read in the other great reviews are so true: cute goats, handsome cows, gorgeous views, butter soft sheets, gas fireplace at the flip of a switch, amazing! And on and on! The convenience of a full size washer and dryer, full size kitchen stocked with utensils etc., large walk-in shower, and everything spotless. Professionally run, example: high end bath product minis like a great hotel . . . But also warm, like when April dropped off homemade cup cakes and jam. Because of the storm we really didn’t know when we were going to be able to leave, April graciously worked with us and our open ended departure. This was certainly not a planed vacation but it was one of the best vacations ever!
We loved our stay here! What a beautiful home. It was so nice to have a large deck to relax on and have morning coffee or evening wine. Beds were very comfy! All the comforts of home! Highly recommend staying here. An easy drive from the Biltmore or downtown. Grocery store close by. Apri was a pleasure to work with!
The farm in which the cottage sits on, is adjacent to Carolina Bison Farm. They offer guided tours to allow guests to see a working bison farm. Other animals include camels, white tail deer, watusi, elk, and yak.
