The house was absolutely perfect for our trip. We came to Hendersonville to visit family, and this property couldn’t have been a better choice. It was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed to feel right at home. The location made it easy to spend time with our family while also enjoying the area. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches and cozy atmosphere that made our stay so relaxing. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit!

Welcoming Cottage

We just spent our fourth year at Cantrell Cottage. We celebrate our anniversary at this lovely cottage on the mountain each year. The woods around us and view of the mountains far off across the valley in the mornings are just a few of the benefits of spending time there. Every room of the cottage is well-appointed, clean, uncluttered and tasteful. We enjoy breakfast with hot coffee and tea at the kitchen table, while enjoying the view. Sometimes, later in the afternoons, we grill on the back deck and enjoy the silence of the woods as the sun sets. We always enjoy driving to town to eat at our favorite restaurants and especially like being there in February because the cold wind and temps make the warmth and cozy surroundings so welcoming.We look forward to returning every year!

Perfect quiet getaway

The cabin was perfect for our long weekend. The location is peaceful and quiet with a sweet view. The bed was very comfortable. We had everything we needed in this cozy spot. We will definitely be back.

Second-time stay, just as wonderful

This was our second stay at Cantrell Cottage and it was just as lovely as we remembered. The cottage and grounds are still very clean and well-maintained. We enjoyed sitting outside by the fire pit and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Our host did a great job of communicating before our stay. We had no issues finding the cottage and enjoyed the surrounding downtown Hendersonville. The host was kind enough to leave a Welcome Packet with helpful instructions and a little welcome basket. The furnishings are well-kept and very clean and we loved the decor. It all goes so well together and we hope to make our stay at Cantrell's an annual experience. Great for a long weekend for parties of 2.

We come back every year!

The cottage is so comfortable and cozy. This is our third year at the cottage, and we were not disappointed. It is clean, functional, and has the most wonderful views - especially from the deck, where we grilled out the last evening. Great area to walk in the woods and enjoy the outdoors. Easy trip into town if you want to go out to eat. We always bring all our own food because the kitchen is GREAT, and once we're there, we really don't want to leave. We spent four relaxing, stress-free, happy days there this year, and can't wait to come back! Comfortable bed...slept like logs! :-)

Cozy Mountain Cottage

My husband and I stayed in the Cantrell Cottage while we were in town for an event in Saluda. The cottage was well taken care of inside and very clean. The kitchen had an oven/stove, two mini-fridges and all the utensil, plates, baking sheets and drinking cups you need. The bathroom was very roomy with lots of storage and counter space. All bath towels, hand towels and toilet tissue provided. The big picture windows allow lots of natural light into the cottage. We saw the sun rise over the mountains each morning and it was amazing. We contacted the hostess only once upon our arrival regarding the A/C. The hostess was very helpful in pointing us in the right direction the turn on the air. Tip: The heater is controlled by the thermostat on the wall and the A/C is powered by two stand alone units, one in the bedroom area and the other in the living room area. There seems to be multiple ways to get to the cottage depending on the GPS. We explored all! Overall, it was a great stay and would definitely come back.

Wedding weekend

Had a family wedding that brought us to Hendersonville for the first time. The cabin is so cute and cozy and we enjoyed our short stay. The cabin had everything we needed including coffee and snacks! Highly recommend as the cabin was very clean and settled in a nice community. Road is gravel and be sure to check the gps before heading out if you do not want to travel down another dirt road. We found a couple of times it took us on a very narrow dirt road.

Great Getaway!

Perfect getaway spot! Pristine and private. Very friendly and responsive hosts! Great location. Shower pressure was just fine despite comments to the contrary. Absolutely recommend, would love to return!

Forest setting amazing

Hi, We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The cottage is in very good conditions. The only issue we had was the lack of seating areas . The only couch was a futon n it was not very comfortable. You couldn’t watch tv if you wanted to. Only from the bed. I would recommend the owners to have a couch or comfortable chairs. Besides that it’s. Beautiful place to stay. I would love to return next year. Thank you for sharing this beautiful place .

great place

The experience was great! the cabin is in excellent conditions. The heat worked perfect. very peaceful. very nice vacation. I think they have to add that the location is up the mountain, 30 minutes driving up the hill, understand that cannot post the exact address but it should be mentioned in the post . Also there is not laundry in the property, and it was advertised with coin laundry. But overall was great! Thanks!

Cozy for a fall weekend

The view from the back deck is very peaceful and we enjoyed the fire pit! This place is small, but perfectly sized for a couple - given COVID, we cooked our meals in the kitchen and just kept to ourselves. We had a few questions in preparing for our trip and the property manager was very responsive. Thanks for a great stay!

perfect mountain getaway

We chose Cantrell Cottage to celebrate our anniversary. This property was absolutely "magical" and everything that we were hoping for. The location is very easy to access, the property was exceptionally clean. We loved the decor and furnishings. The views are picturesque. It was so quiet and peaceful. Perfect place to unplug and relax. We we love to visit again! Check in was very easy. Great communication from property owners. We had no issues. Once again, perfect mountain getaway!

Cute and Cozy!

We had a great time at the cottage for a weekend get away in the mountains. The only downside was the place was not adequately supplied with paper products so had to stop by to pick some up for the weekend. Would recommend staying there! Just would also recommend they staff with better cleaning supplies, especially during the pandemic.

Not Impressed

The only five star rating we would give would be for the bed. It was extremely comfortable. Getting there was troublesome, there are no visible landmarks to get to the property. It is up a gravel nondescript remote road. Even with our GPS it took us 30 minutes to find it and we were in the immediate area. We had to call the property manager for help. He responded immediately and helped us get there. Our major disappointments were, The shower was no bigger than a cruise ship shower. The water pressure in the shower was meager, although the water pressure in the sink was excellent. The toilet got backed up with just toilet paper and we had to plunge it. It only has a micro fridge, which was hardly functional. The freezer was frozen over and unusable. The view from the back and the side was spectacular , the front needs some serious TLC. All in all this would not be a choice for the next trip.

Clean cottage!

Great Location Great History

We absolutely loved our stay and wish we had booked one extra night. This is a great little spot with a very interesting history as we learned from one of the locals on the mountain Who quickly became a friend while we were here as well as one of the owners who is here doing some site work. I won’t get into all that history on this review but I can tell you it’s a really neat place with a really neat beginning. The family that owns this loves the spot and you can tell when you hear them talk about their own personal history of being on this property. My husband and I can’t wait to be back in the fall!!
