The house was perfectly accommodating for my friends and family who joined me in celebrating turning 30! The beds were so comfy, and we really enjoyed just hanging out playing pool and soaking in the hot tub! Thank you for opening your home to us!

Hello Dewayne,
We are sorry to hear the sheets were dirty on some of the beds, we do wish you would have notified us during your stay so we could have addressed this for yours. We are sorry we dropped the ball, but do hope you will give us another chance to impress you.
Description was terribly misleading. Driveway was dangerously steep. No communication with managers. Experience was so bad we left after our first night out of 4.

Cold basement and cold water
The cabin was very clean and full of fun activities. The only problem is the temp. The basement never got above 65 degrees no matter how high we raised the thermostat. And the water heater never lasted more than a 5 minute shower. Would fill up maybe 1/3rd of the bathtub before turning cold. Again, everything else was clean and cozy.

We appreciate your honest feedback, Lori. Our maintenance team will check the hot water heater. This property only has one thermostat upstairs that heats the home. We are sorry to hear the basement was chilly. We appreciate your review to continue improving our guest's experience and we hope you'll stay with us again!

Bears Cove Cabin, Sautee Nacoochee
Met our online expectations! The drive way was very steep as stated in the description. The house was very nice, beautifully decorated! 3 bedrooms , 3 full bathrooms & one 1/2 bathroom.
In One of the bedrooms upstairs, a twin bed frame was broken. The wifi/ internet would not connect / had no service.
Pool table/ gaming area was a great addition to the home.
But The Wine fridge would not cool.
The house keeping staff did a good job cleaning but were a few things that needed tidying up in the kitchen. Kitchen was fully stocked with utensils & pots/pans.
Hot tub water smelt like Mildew due to The hot tub cover had mildew stains. Staff Could have used a few more spa chemicals before we arrived. The gas grill needed cleaning, we were grilling steaks & we had to keep putting out a grease fire. But overall we enjoyed our stay for our 3 day stay with our family!

Hide away in the mountains
The cabin has an excellent location. Very close to Unicoi State Park and the town of Helen.
The motif of the cabin is very bear friendly and the decorations are just what you would want for a cabin in the woods. Two working fireplaces; one on main level and one downstairs.
Some issues for the owners consideration. Should get direct TV service with full ESPN package especially during any major sports season. TV in master bedroom would not connect to Direct TV and was therefore not of much use.
Some of great room furniture is showing its age and should be replaced. The sofa is not very comfortable and the great room only really has seating for 4 TV viewing, but with limited service with the Direct TV package there is not likely to be much TV watching.
Upgrading to gas logs for the fireplaces would be wonderful!
Nice pool table in the downstairs area but no chalk for sticks.
The house is large and could be great with a few modest improvements as suggested above.

A little rough
It felt more like hunting cabin. Appliances a bit out dated. The entrance was awful. Gravel pit in front of drive way had ruts. Almost bottomed out. Driveway was very steep and there were no lights to guide us. We could not see that there was a driveway in front of the house, so we ended up parking in back and climbing up the hill at the side of the house to access the front door.
Inside needs some maintenance. One of the risers on the stairs needs work. Piece of cabinet facing in kitchen fell off. Took some time to get the toaster working. Heat did not work downstairs. We called customer service in the morning to let them know of our concerns and that we would not be staying any longer. We have not heard back from anyone.

Good location, needs some TLC
As noted on the original page, the location is up a steep hill. The location can be found with proper directions but is a little challenging to get too. When we arrived at the rental, the temperature outside required for the heat to be put on but what came out was cold air. I tried calling the local rep and finally received a response but was told nothing could be done till the next day. We did have someone who showed up but we were told a part needed to be ordered and he made an adjustment that would help but the problem wasn't really fixed, when we turned off the thermostat was the only way we got any heat. When opening the door of the freezer the ice marker was overflowing with ice and we had to empty out the ice container and figure out how to turn off the ice maker. We cooked several times during our stay but the frying pans were all disgusting, worn and badly scarred. There were no directions on the tvs, nor the dishwasher. The house could accommodate 10 to 12 people but the hot water could barely give showers to two people. Cracked wine glasses. Make sure you wear black socks because if you wear white ones they will be black when you take them off at night. The floors needed to be clean. It could be a very nice place to stay but it definitely needs some work. The local rep, Tiffany, was somewhat helpful but after we checked out she never returned a phone call that we made to her about our concerns.

Infested with roaches
Property is not easy to find; data does not work out there and the written directions sent with the check in instructions were wrong. The driveway is seriously scary steep, even my husbands Nissan Titan had a hard time. When you transition off of the paved driveway to the gravel road be prepared for your car to drop and hit the bottom regardless of how slow and careful you try to be. The cabin itself is very nice and big however, it seriously has a bug problem. We immediately ran into a scorpion on the TV cables, spiders, and things crawling on the carpet downstairs. Even after all of this we would have been ok staying there but when I went to put our food away I quickly realized the kitchen was infested with roaches. They were even in the dishwasher and scattered as soon as I opened it up. So you know that all of the dishes provided are not clean to use. We called the management company and connected me with the local manager. She was very sweet and put us in a little apartment they had available for the night so that we wouldn’t have to sleep with all of the bugs. My only dislike about this was that she was trying to tell me that we should expect bugs in the mountains and that it was normal for all of the bugs. I strongly disagree with this. We have rented several cabins in the mountains and this was the first one with such a severe bug infestation. Not worth it, it would be better to pay a little more for another property that does not have a bug problem. It almost ruined our family vacation.

Response from VrboOwner on Jun 21, 2023
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, Winter! We apologize for the issues experienced upon your arrival. During certain times of the year, insects are a common natural occurrence and each home is regularly treated for all types of species. During the time of your stay, there was an increase in volume of insects at this time of year, which heightened the chance of insects entering the home. Please note that this does not reflect any lack of cleanliness or maintenance. We were more than happy to place you into a different property, as well to offer an equitable resolution with you. We are sorry we could not provide you with the vacation for which you had planned, but we do hope for another opportunity to host you again. Thank you!

Some bad some impressive
The cabin is very nice, nature around so cool, but there was a big lack of driving to the steep hill guidance, my SUV ended at the ditch. I had to call a tow truck. After that, the VACASA supervisor called me and tell me how to drive my SUV to the parking lot. Instruction driving to the property s/b clear up.
