Our 600 sqft cabin is beautifully decorated with a Big Bear theme. Everywhere you look you will see something unique or woodsy. The vaulted exposed beam ceiling gives you the true mountain feel. Sitting on a double-lot with mature trees, our cabin provides an excellent atmosphere of privacy and peacefulness. Resting on a slight slope, the cabin is elevated into the pine trees at the front of the home. Whether you're in the living room or entertaining on the fully enclosed deck you will see squirrels and woodpeckers all day long. And, the dramatic fireplace serves as the perfect backdrop for whatever your vacation will entail.
You are within walking distance to Sugarloaf park and a short bike ride away from the General Market. The street is very quiet with little traffic yet it has easy access to all the mountain resorts and amenities. The roads are cleared of snow quickly in this part of town too. The paved parking area in front of the cabin is large enough for two full sized SUVS. We own the empty lot to the right as well. You may park in the dirty area as well or use the space for snow play. ***DURING THE SNOW SEASON WE CAN ONLY GUARANTEE ONE CLEARED SPACE. THERE IS A SHOVEL AVAILABLE IN THE EVENT YOU WOULD LIKE TO CLEAR MORE SPACE FOR PARKING***
There are 2 SMALL bedrooms:
Bedroom one has a Double Bed.
Bedroom two has a handmade pine bunk bed that is a Double on the bottom and a Twin on the top.
We can accommodate up to 5 people but 3-4 people is much more comfortable.
The bathroom is clean and updated. The home is fully equipped with fresh linens, extra sheets and plenty of towels. There are extra pillows, blankets and comforters too. The kitchen is fully equipped. In addition to a microwave, a coffee maker and a toaster; you will find all the pots, pans, dishes, glasses, silverware etc. that you will need.
Paper towels, kitchen towels, bathroom tissue, trash bags, sponges and general household supplies are also provided.
A 60-inch SMART HDTV with Spectrum cable service and a DVD player is provided. The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable. Use the smart TV features to log into your own Netflix or Prime accounts. The basic cable has over 150 channels including ESPN and the music channels. There's also a retro Sega Genesis console system with 80 games and 2 wireless remotes.
The front deck has a gate at the top of the stairs to keep the kids and the pets inside and safe while you're cooking on the charcoal or the gas grill. The property perimeter is not fenced, so you will need to keep your dog(s) on their leash as you take them down to do their business.
The wood burning fireplace is very easy to start but please bring your own wood and starter.
We even have the typical kitchen junk drawer with all the extra tools, batteries and bulbs that a quick trip might need. :)

We are a Big Bear loving family. We've been vacationing on the mountain for over 25 years and finally took the leap to purchase a second home. Our children love the area and all that is has to offer, especially, "Teddy Bear Square" toyshop in the village. Our golden, Lucy, loves to chase the squirrels in Sugarloaf park or the ducks off the shore around Big Bear Marina. Our cabin should feel like home for you. We have all the extras that you would expect. We use the cabin regularly and try to keep it ready for whatever we would need. We hope you enjoy your stay. -The Pahua's
Mike purchased this Cabin in 2010
Why Mike chose Sugarloaf
I love the location of the house. The street is very quiet and the homes are more spread out than most in Sugarloaf. The location is great. It's a 10 minute drive into town. Even during the peak of the vacation season, our street is quiet. We are just far enough out for true privacy yet still have easy access to the Village or the ski resorts. The location is about 2 miles to the National Park. We like to park at the end of the road and go for hikes in the backcountry.
What makes this Cabin unique
People love the decor of the cabin. At every corner there is something unique to look at. Also, the front deck is large, private and elevated. Easy to park 3 full sized suvs when there's not too much snow.

Perfect family cabin
This was the perfect cabin for my family. We have 3 kids ages 8,3,&2 and they were all so happy. This place has everything you need in the kitchen to fresh towels and extra blankets. What made our stay even more perfect was the snow it snowed all night and the deck was a perfect place for the kids to play. My 8yr old is already asking when will we be returning he loved playing the game system and watching Netflix. We will definitely be returning.
Great small place in the woods!
Had a great stay in Sugarloaf. Would visit again.
Cozy cabin close to Bear Mountain
My husband, 2 sons, small dog and I stayed at Mike’s cabin for 2 nights. It was clean, cozy and well stocked with linens and kitchen supplies. It was an easy 10-15 min drive to Bear Mountain for skiing and 10 min to snow tubing. It made for a wonderful, winter getaway. Also, Mike was quick to respond to all messages. We loved our stay!
If you're looking for a clean, well appointed cabin this is it. The owner takes pride in his property and it shows. We are looking forward to our next visit. Thanks a million.
Wonderful place to stay
The place was quaint, the decor was very nice, and the location was just the right distance from town so that it was convenient but not intrusive. Very comfortable stay with great amenities, with all the beauty you would expect from this area. Just an all around great stay, even during the unusual heat wave that occurred while we were there. We had no issue, but in the lead-up to the stay, Mike's responses were nearly instantaneous, so I felt we were in good hands if there were any issues.
Highly recommend staying in this lovely home.
Great cabin at a great price
Thanks Mike for the accommodations. We all enjoyed the weekend in Big Bear.
