About Kirsten Manson 🏔

Hi, I’m Kirsten, as a Colorado native I’m delighted to be living in the beautiful Rocky Mountains with Michael, who also designed our home. I have visited many beautiful places all over the world yet the Colorado Mountains lure me back again and again. I hope you find the Colorado Rockies captivating as well and they become one of your favorite destinations.

Why Kirsten Manson 🏔 chose Eagles Nest

Summit County is known as Colorado’s playground and Silverthorne has always been one of my favorite Summit county locations. I love the wide-open valley with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and vast sky. Summer hikes and winter sports are just two of my past times. The property is located next to a fabulous golf course and just minutes to all the major ski resorts including Vail and Beaver Creek with convenient access to the I-70 corridor.

Cozy, immaculate, and modern

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 stayed here for 1 week at the end of March. This suite is maintained by the owners adjacent to their home, so everything was immaculate and you could tell they take pride in their home. It has high end appliances and furniture, and all of the linens were better than hotel quality. They allowed us to park in their heated garage and it was very nice not to have to deal with warming up the car or scraping ice off the windshield. There is also a space to park outside in the warm months that is right outside the entrance to the suite. There is no dishwasher or washer/dryer. There really isn't a need for them as there is a laundromat just down the road and hand washing a few dishes won't kill anyone. We never needed to use the laundromat. Our wet gloves and clothes dried quite nicely overnight in the garage downstairs. My daughter and I only used the hot tub once, because, frankly, we were too tired to use it more, but it was awesome on a cold night.

We actually didn't see the owners very much, but they were very pleasant when we did see them. If you are looking for privacy, there is plenty. Kirsten encouraged my children to build a snowman in their yard, and that was a lot of fun.

This space is perfect for 2 or 3 people. At times we felt a little cramped with a 4 and 9 year old, but that can also happen in our own home. We were extremely cautious at meal time because 4 year olds are not exactly clean eaters. That might have been the only down side to our stay: paranoia about staining the beautiful furniture and rugs. When it's a chain hotel or resort you don't feel so concerned, but when it's someone's home you really don't want to make a mess. Of course I hope that doesn't sound like a complaint about the property, just an observation of life with a young child in a fancy venue.

The property is so new the new snowboard boots I ordered were returned to the merchant because the USPS complained the address information was insufficient (it was sufficient and correct). That was a shocker, but you can't blame Kirsten or Mike for that, and I imagine they experience the same problem. The property is very easy to access once you ignore Google and Apple maps and heed the directions Kirsten supplies.

We felt we stayed in luxury for a bargain price. I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to others, especially once both kids are a little older.

Fabulous!

  • 5 of 5

What a great place to stay! My 14 year old son and I stayed for 4 days on a ski trip. So happy that we picked Kirsten and Mike's home. It was very comfortable, so nicely appointed and made our trip so much better. The location is perfect - 2 min from the main drag of Silverthorne. Having our own garage stall was handy too as we had snow 2 days while we were there. No ice scraping and a warm car! We also loved being able to enjoy the jacuzzi in such a private setting. The stars were spectacular at night! Thank you Kirsten and Mike for allowing us to stay at your home. We loved it and would recommend it highly to anyone looking for a nice spot in Summit County.

Beautiful space and very accomodating hosts

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four stayed in this mother-in-law apartment for a long weekend of skiing. The space is truly beautifully designed and very well appointed. One can tell that the hosts want to do everything possible to make their guests feel welcome and comfortable during their stay. The two bedrooms were comfortably sized and the common area, while cozy, was well thought out. The use of the garage bay was appreciated during the stay, particularly for winter months. All in all, we highly recommend this VRBO property!

One of the nicest places we’ve stayed

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful little apartment. Karen has thought of everything for your comfort. Right down to a heated garage to park your car out of the cold and snow. We are Texans and not experienced in the snow so this was the perfect cozy place for our retreat.
