Size of house was nice. Hot tub not available and that was disappointing. Sign said can’t use during cold weather. No wine glasses in the house and kitchen items disorganized and hard to locate. Living room furniture not comfortable. Upstairs bathroom shower floor is very slippery and needs a mat.

So Much to Do!

Our family of 10 stayed here for a long weekend and had the best time. The house is located at the end of a one-lane road and is positioned beautifully on the Greenbrier River. The river and view from the home are its best qualities! It is also located on a 78-mile trail:) We biked, fished, waded, hiked, played games, chilled on the deck, and explored the area. Unfortunately, the current in the river was too strong to kayak due to recent extensive rain. Lewisburg is a great small town to explore and only a 15-minute drive from the house. We loved the Hill & Holler pizzeria so much that we ate there twice--ha! We all played pickle ball at a very nice community park. Our day at The Greenbrier was enjoyable. The tulips were in full bloom, and the bunker tour was interesting. We were thankful, however, that we stayed at this house instead of on The Greenbrier's property! There was so much to do at this home!Our only complaint (and all the positives greatly outweigh it!) is that the home could have been a bit cleaner. Would we stay at this property again? Yes:)

True Serenity

5 families with members from age 9-60 truly enjoyed the serenity this home offered. It is very tastefully decorated and had something for everyone! Our only regret was not having more time just at the house to enjoy everything it had to offer. We will certainly return, thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us- it is obviously well loved!

perfect name for the place; no roads, no planes, no roofs, just the murmurs of that beautiful river. we biked, paddled, hiked, ping ponged, hot tubbed, explored the bookshelves, played chess and sat on the deck. lots of creatures to watch, such as mergansers , 2 blacksnakes, and deer [of course]. house is very accommodating; has everything needed. lewisburg is delightful. explored the surrounding country, as sam is planning to move there. everyone we met was happy and helpful. i was there for 9 days, hosted 14 family and friends, not all at once. neighbors are upstream and invisible. i recommend the local distillery and brewery and kroger. its cool in the mountains by a river!!

Perfect location to relax

Very relaxing week with children and grandchildren. The home was perfect for that. Fully stocked with everything we needed and plenty of space. My teenage granddaughter loved the guest house. The property was absolutely stunning. Nestled between the Greenbrier River and trail, both just steps away from the house.There are some issues with some of the seating being uncomfortable in the family room. The refrigerator works but is showing it’s age.

Lovely place, but for the cost of the host fee and services was a great disappointment.

The home is lovely. The road to get to the home is a little survey and the road narrows, just an FYI. Only a few issues. With all of the fireplaces / pits, I assumed there would at least have been a starter package of fire wood. A reminder that there isn't would have been helpful due to the roads to get in and out of the location. Also the gas did not have propane, we had to run out and pay for the propane ourselves. This was after I confirmed with the host the grill was in working condition, which I would think included checking the propane. Also, this was very unprofessional. Check out was at 10am, around 9:40am two car came to the house and watched as we were packing up. It was very unprofessional and I could see if we were late, but they arrived around 20 mins. before checkout and as they watched, we were almost finished loading up. Pretty disappointed in this as well as the grill. It is evident the host did not check the grill when she confirmed everything was in working order. With a host fee of $795 and the cost of the cabin, this should not have been an issue and the cleaners should not have arrived early to watch us as we packed up, on time. We did receive a 2pm check in upon request.

Beautiful place

The house is absolutely beautiful and the location is perfect if you want to be away from civilization. It is way out hidden in a perfect location. You have so much privacy and the view of the Greenbrier River is perfect. We didn’t realize that there was a lot of rain 2 weeks before we arrived so the river was high and we couldn’t fish or kayak. Which is what we were looking forward to. Maybe next time. The upstairs in both the house and guest house was very hot. Even on cool nights. That was the only downfall, which isn’t really. The house had every essential needed. It was a great stay!! We will definitely go back.

Had a great stay, house has everything you need and then some. With the walking /biking trail right there easy to go for a walk or bike ride. Bikes located at the house. Plenty of room for friends and family as well as (4) pickups and (2) trailers, one was a (40) footer. The sauna was a big hit on those cold days after hiking, biking or riding the trails at Burning rock with the utv's. The kitchen had everything we needed. Overall awesome house at the end of the rode with privacy . River beautiful saw a flock of geese, deer, and other wildlife. Host responded to any question right away.

Serenity on the river:

Property was beautiful, had plenty of inside and outside space. The house had everything you needed from the kitchen to the outdoor sports. Walking/biking trail ran just in front of the property but was far enough away to allow for privacy. Reached out to Lucy once she replied at once. Thank You Joe and Jackie . Would love to come back in the spring/summer.

Wonderful and relaxing

Beautiful home and a beautiful place! Plenty of space for the whole family to get together. Lots to do on the trail and the river. So relaxing! I think my blood pressure went down upon arrival! Great family getaway!

Seclusion and beauty!!!

The whole renting process was easy from start to finish!! Joe was very quick at getting back to me regarding any questions I had! The grounds were absolutely beautiful and the house was very spacious and accommodating!! Would highly recommend!

River Trail Cabin

Beautiful cabin inside and out, great location on the river. Wished we had spent more time to do river activities. Only negatives were 3 of the bedrooms had dead bugs on the window sill and the bedroom with the bunk bed had mouse droppings on the comforter. Also if would have been nice if the gas grill worked and was usable. It looked very rusted and it probably hasn't been used in years.

Almost Heaven West Virginia

We rented this house for our annual visit to the WV fair. We take dairy cows for the dairy show competition. We have increased our family numbers with grandchildren and hotel rooms do not work with our growing family. This house was amazing, we had ages from 2 weeks to 83. The inside of the house is beautiful, the view was perfect and the beds were comfortable. The owners were great to work with as we prepared for our trip.
