Great space

We love the Starfish condo. The space was perfect and the lanai was over the top. The only thing that could’ve been better was a new cooktop, but other than that, everything was great!

Wow! Absolutely everything needed to make a vacation in Hawaii incredible was had at Starfish House. We have been coming to Mauna Lani for over ten years and this home is the BEST we have ever stayed at. Wonderful.

beyond expectations!

amazing home. extremely clean and well put together, the owners thought of everything needed for a awesome family vacation then provided it! beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, coolers, beach wagons, bikes ….on and on. All the beds were very comfortable. Great wi-fi and tech for staying connected to work. We would definitely rent again!

Lovely family reunion

We booked Starfish house after seeing the beautiful pictures on line and, upon arrival, it did not disappoint!!! We were in need of sleeping for 8 and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Our party of 4 couples were able to make full meals with the high quality appliances and well-stocked dish and drink ware.. This trip meant a lot to all of us for many reasons and the Starfish house was the perfect host. Thank you so much for making your beautiful home available to our family.

Nicely equipped

Property was clean and modern. Kitchen well equipped. Took a while to figure out all the remotes for TV but worked it out. A concern was the termites eating the stair landing, which they should address before more damage occurs (sent them an email). Quiet neighborhood. Lots of wild goats on the golf course.

Aloha Alan, Thank you for staying at Starfish. We are glad you had a good time. We had professionals confirm there are no termites in the home. The one board on the stair landing had some beetle damage but that has been fixed now (replaced). We do provide lots of TVs in the home along with Netflix, cable, blue tooth soundbars and AppleTV which is part of the reason people love staying here. We appreciate the feedback that it makes TV remotes a bit more complicated. We hope you are able to come back soon and enjoy the wonders of the Big Island. Mahalo Jeff & Suzanne

Great for families

There is a lot to love about this rental unit. The Master is absolutely palatial, the view and location on the back is stunning and quiet, and the garage is full of everything you could possibly need on a family vacation in Hawaii. We also loved the private beach and the pools and fitness center are fantastic. Some of the downsides; the mattress on the master bed and second bedroom is very soft and uncomfortable (very easy fix). The front of this unit faces a construction site that has been dormant for 2 years - it's not really a problem, just very unattractive. We also found that the layout of the kitchen and dining room was not ideal. All in all we had a great stay but it's just not perfect.

We're glad you enjoyed your stay.  Beds are always a very personal preference and we've had tons of requests for the exact mattress brand from guests who have loved the medium-firm mattress (not too soft, not too hard) and claim its the best sleep they have ever had.  The views from the home are spectacular pond, wildlife (goats and birds!).  The kitchen is large and exceptionally well equipped with tons of storage.   There is no active construction and the there are no views of the neighborhood from inside the home.   This is one of the finest homes in the community with many repeat guests. Quiet, beautiful townhome

Beautiful property, exactly as described. Quiet neighborhood, which was great for us. Close enough to Fairmont Orchid to walk easily for a conference. Pool area was very nice. Access to beach club was a plus. Many toys in the garage- were wonderful to use. Large main bedroom with walkin closet and spacious bath. Great communication with hosts, excellent information about the unit. Views are golf course and mountains. Kitchen was very well appointed. Few little items were not ideal. Could not figure out some of the fans and could not get them to do anything other than very fast. Outdoor grill was used a lot and a very nice feature- but cooked very hot. Easy to adjust to once we knew that.

Exceptional property — great for families!

My expectations were exceeded by this exceptional property, and I would definitely rent again. We had everything we needed for an amazing vacation. From the well appointed kitchen to the look and feel of the decor, we were treated to a stay that was luxurious with the comfort of home. The outdoor lanais offered spectacular views at sunrise and all throughout the day of the adjacent golf course. We took joy in watching the golfers (some good, others less so!) and the periodic families of goats roaming through that would help “cut” the grass. The availability of beach equipment, bikes, and towels meant we had nothing to worry about but to load up the car for our adventures. The community pool was a 5 minute walk away and was clean, spacious, and fun for the entire family. The workout facility in the community area was also a nice perk and had ample space and equipment. It was clear that many guests and residents used both the pool and workout facility, and both were well maintained.The property management company was extremely communicative and very responsive to any requests we had of them. They sent clear and detailed check-in information well in advance of our trip and texted to confirm we had all of the necessary details.Within a 5 minute drive was a local grocery store that served our needs well, and within a 15 minute drive was the Waikoloa Beach Resort area with additional grocery options, shopping, and dining.

New Years in a Hawaiian paradise.

We have just spent a great week at the Coconut Telegraph house in the Mauna Lani resort and could not be happier with our experience. Our group of six enjoyed a great week together and included myself and my wife with our two adult daughters and grandson as well as the BFF of one of our daughters. There was plenty of room for our group to spread out and sleeping arrangements were easy. With a bathroom for each bedroom there was no waiting for showers, etc. The kitchen was well supplied with cooking utensils and dishes, so meal prep was easy. We used the outside grill several times as well. Eating out on the lanai was very pleasant as was just relaxing outside. Sitting outside in the morning listening to the many birds and having coffee is something that we miss now. There was easy access to several beautiful beaches which we took advantage of and the beach equipment that was in the garage was helpful. We enjoyed visiting the volcano and recommend a visit to the Greenwell Farms coffee farm to see how Kona coffee is grown and processed. We were also able to go whale watching, watch manta rays feed in the ocean at night, and our daughters took surfing lessons. The fitness facility and pools were also easy to access, very well equipped and enjoyed by our family. Overall this is a great property and we highly recommend it.

Christmas in HI

This is a very nice home, very comfortable and the lanai with the view over the golf course is beautiful. We took full advantage of that, taking in the sunrise every morning with all the bird calls. Does sleep eight (comfortable beds!) but it required sharing the large master bath (off the very nice large master bedroom) with some of our daughters in order to make the two full baths work when all of us were getting ready to go out at the same time, but that was a workable solution. Large water heater and so there was never an issue with the hot water supply. Parking the second car was no hassle really, with a spot at the next unit over. The garage is for two cars but with all the outdoor gear they provide, there is really only room for one car. Close to a small grocery store, easily walkable. Used going4groceries.com for our initial needs in order to avoid that stop after a long flight (property management provides them with a temporary access code to deliver the groceries ahead of your arrival). Well equipped kitchen with a lot of small appliances to use and plenty of dishes. Short walk to a nice pool with separate lap pool and workout room. The access to the beach at Mauna Lani is a bonus and has good snorkeling water, where we were able to swim with and observe some beautiful/interesting fish. Depending on how far out you went within the resort’s mapped area, the water was up to 20’ deep. Responsive local property management. Two virtually new adult bikes were delivered same day that we pointed out that two of the bikes provided were out of commission for various reasons.

Beautiful home with a couple minor issues

The house was stunning and had a perfect location at the end of the development. More than enough room for 4 adults and 2 children (including grandparents). We loved our time here and loved the views out the huge glass windows on the lower floor, and the privacy by it bordering the golf course. Only minor issue we had was curtains breaking and not being addressed, and a flat tire on the kids bike that they never had someone come out to look at, despite being responsive to our request. I would love to stay here again though!

Beautiful property

This was a very nice property. Would highly recommend the Mauna Lani area as a base for seeing the island. Nice associated facilities. Foodland and some shops are short walk or minutes-drive always. Adjacent resort shopping less than 10 minutes drive away. Hapuna Beach (Conde Nast #1) is less than 10 minutes away, gorgeous. The resort private beach and various walkable shore areas and sights and are quite nice too. The management are responsive to needs.
