Beautiful Sugar Creek winds around the large screened porch of the Wildacre cabin, only yards away. Sleep with your windows open and let the bubbling of the creek lull you to sleep at night.
Enjoy a lazy afternoon in the hammock by the creek or relax in the rockers on the screened porch. Table and chairs available on screened porch for creekside dining in comfort. Picnic tables by the creek. Toast marshmallows in the campfire ring. Hike the trail on the property that crosses the creek several times, or hike on the Pin-Hoti Trail (joins the Appalachian Trail at Benton McKaye), only a mile away.

Dear Steve & Judy,
We can't believe our stay is nearly over. We have had such a good time. We have enjoyed the hammock, walking in the woods and along the creek. My husband has done well without the Internet (Ha, Ha).
We had everything we needed. My two favorite things were the floors and screened in porch. Well, there is a third thing - the floor of the shower. Oh, fourth thing - your blue themed dishes in the kitchen.
We would have loved to stay longer, and hope to come back in the future. While there are plenty of things to do in the area, we were anxious to get back to our little "sanctuary." You all must have a most wonderful house not to live in this "little bit of heaven."
Thank you for letting us visit,
Jimmie & Diana, Tennessee

What a great visit we had at Wildacre!
Our son Charlie and his wife Laura, from Atlanta, our son Andrew from Brooklyn, and Katie and I all were very impressed by your attention to detail and the absolutely wonderful place! Just fantastic!
We had a great time seeing the many details. On the third day I was still seeing things I hadn't noticed before. Its a museum, actually, combined with a luxury suite in a national forest. Really impressive!
We had a few rain showers and that porch was just a wonderful place to sit and enjoy it.
My cousins and I decided we wanted to rent a cabin in a beautiful mountain setting for a getaway and we found the perfect place in Wildacre. The cabin was great and had everything we could ask for and the grounds were spectacular complete with bubbling creek just outside the front door. I highly recommend Wildacre!
I'm so excited about our next trip to Wildacre in June! I've talked about Wildacre to my husband so much following each of our "girl-cousin retreats" that we spent there that he has agreed it's now his turn! I couldn't think of a better birthday gift for him! I remember all the ooos and ahhhs that my cousins all said as we walked in the front door that first time! Everything was so neat and clean, and all the "special touches" that you offered made us feel so very special and right at home! And, we did so much while we were there! All the pictures that we took are now preserved in a fun slide presentation that makes us long to go back every time we view it. My husband and I definitely plan to absorb all that nature has to offer at Wildacre. You can be sure that a big part of our time will be spent on that wonderful screened porch listening to the delightful sounds of the creek and songbirds. Wildacre is a wonderful place for making memories, and it just may have become a tradition for us! We'll definitely keep coming back!
We have stayed at many cabins but we must say this one has been the best. The pictures don’t compare to the true beauty of this place. We will definitely come again - All of the “added touches” you have made together with the natural beauty is beyond what we hoped. Thank you for sharing.
What a lovely place. My husband and I usually opt for cabins that are located high up with far mountain views, but this fall decided to try something different. We are so glad we did. From the moment we arrived we felt like welcome guests because Steve and Judy have put so much thought and care into this place. The views from the cabin are great and it was nice to be able to get out and move around on the property. We really enjoyed the privacy and having fires every night in the cabin and once out at the fire pit. There was plenty of firewood on site. We also enjoyed hiking the wagon trail across the creek. The cabin is very homey and comfortable. It was cool when we were there so we really enjoyed the heated floors in the very large master bath. Everything was first rate and we hope to be back next fall. Thanks so much for the welcome basket - we put it to good use!
The Martins have made this the loveliest and homiest cabin in which we have ever stayed. They have succeeded in what is an amazing accomplishment ...such a gift to all who visit! From the moment you drive through the gate on a lane safely following Sugar Creek you feel you have left the world behind. Once the level grassy yard opens directly leading you to the cabin, you know there is something very special about Wildacre. No detail is left to happenstance from the welcome basket, music playing softly as you enter the cabin right down to the fire being set up in the firepit. Grandparents can sit on the screened porch watching little ones play in the stream close at hand and can easily walk to the fire pit and play games with the children on the spacious, level lawn. Memories abound after a visit to this cabin - a true work of talent and love.
Hiking trail on property, also near Pinhoti Trail, which joins the Appalachian Trail at Benton-McKaye, Fishing allowed in owner's lake, less than 2 miles away with restrictions.
