  • Mountain Home Heaven

"We stayed during the week of Christmas and were impressed with everything. The location is perfect, close to everything you may need (i.e. WalMart) and yet far enough away to not be bothered by anything! The sounds from the creek at the bottom of the hill elevated the tranquil atmosphere. Our (2) young sons enjoyed walking across the bridge to the small island. They said this was "nature at its' best!" We spent our lazy afternoons out on the porch/balcony playing cards/games and enjoyed the warmth from the fireplace. The house is fully stocked with essentials and then some. The manager, Kathy, is helpful beyond words. The owner and manager made themselves completely accessible and were eager to assist with any requests (we needed baking sheets to make cookies for Santa and they were on the counter when we arrived)! The home is spacious. The grounds plentiful and beautiful. We look forward to returning one day!"

  • Great condo located close to the amenities

"I have to say the accommodations exceeded our expectations and was very comfortable and larger than expected. The location is very close to the Lake Club and was ideal for our family to take advantage of the boating, pool and dining. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony with views of the lake having our coffee in the mornings . We were unable to explore some of the numerous hiking trails or golf course but will save for next time. As mentioned in other reviews, it is not quickly accessible to the main road so plan on bringing enough provisions for your stay if you don't want to eat at the Lake Club for every meal. Overall, I would give high marks to Loris condo and the property in general and is a great place to really getaway while having plenty of activities to choose from if you wish."

  • Authentic pioneer log cabin secluded in enchanted forest of 200 foot tall trees.

"We thoroughly enjoyed the vacation we spent in Lazy Bear Lodge. This is a very special authentic pioneer log cabin completely secluded in an enchanted forest of 200 foot tall trees. The only person we saw in 11 days at the cabin was the gentleman who picked up the garbage. Yet the cabin is conveniently located in a charming neighborhood minutes from gas, groceries and downtown Sylva. We especially enjoyed drinking coffee on the front porch watching the morning fog while listening to the birds sing while the butterflies fluttered in the cool breezes. We loved the glow of the gas fireplace. The hot tub under the giant trees was phenomenal. We will treasure our memories forever of our special time in this storybook lodge."

  • Beautiful home, quiet, close to Highlands, very relaxing

"This is a truly beautiful home with many quality features and touches. Comfortable and lovely furniture, great kitchen with all the comforts of home and more. The home is close to Highlands and so many other attractions in the area. Great shopping and restaurants, all I was looking for plus a very quiet neighborhood. I was delighted with the lightning bugs dancing in the evening light and there was a good view of the night sky - also a great place for a neighborhood stroll. It was a magical place to spend each evening. The grounds and porches were filled with flowers and lovely plants. It was a memorable week and I will return. There is so much attention to detail and comfort; I was delighted."
