Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2000
Our new family lives just outside of Orlando which is approximately 1.5 hours from Crystal River. We are all Florida natives; Pete grew up in Inverness which is the town next to our vacation condos and why we chose Crystal River. We like the laid back sleepy little town feel and fell in love with the areas springs, specifically Three Sisters. What started as a weekend get a way has turned into a wonderful place we are happy to share.
Why the Owner Chose Crystal River
We chose Crystal River because I grew up close to the springs and remember swimming in them as a kid. I enjoyed frequent field trips and summer camps to see the manatees and swim in the springs. My first scuba trip was in King Springs, around the corner from our place. We hope you enjoy the area as much as we have....
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
Crystal River is a quiet little town with plenty to offer. The springs are beautiful and less than a 2 minute paddle from our back yard. On any given morning you can see manatees and dolphin swim by our dock, boat or paddle to waterfront restaurants and enjoy the nature preserve in Kings Bay. A 7 mile scenic boat ride takes you to the Gulf of Mexico where there is fantastic fishing, nature viewing and in the summer, scallop harvesting. You will enjoy near by Homosassa Wildlife Park and Indian burial grounds which leave a lot to explore. Golf courses, bike/hiking trails close will allow for an active vacation if desired.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay in May. Without a doubt, this was everything we had hoped for and more, with the kayaks included. The springs are very closeby and amazing. We left the TV off and enjoyed exploring the nearby natural sights, fun places to eat, and sunsets. Everything is so convenient. We hope to come back again. The owner was very cordial and a pleasure to work with. This is one of those places you'll be glad you found and want to keep secret.

We stayed here for the 2nd time. Beautiful and peacful setting. Water is cool and refreshing. Saw many manatees, a mama and her baby visited right at our boat dock. Can't wait to visit next year. Clean and comfortable unit, couldn't ask for anything more!

We arrived on a Saturday afternoon to the understated Driftwood Villlas entrance. Upon entering we found a clean spacious condo, with a beautiful view of the canal. Initially the tide was low and we did not know what to expect of the wildlife in the canal. Within a few hours of arriving, we saw our first manatee swim past our dock. We were hooked. We embarked on the kayaks that are provided with the rental, (a huge plus since this gives you free access to all of the waterways, without the expense, hassle or time to rent ) We paddled to the end of the canal and immediately saw more manatee. It didn't take long to ease out of the kayak and into the water with the manatee. Their gentle ways and the beauty of the waterways and three sisters spring were one of the most relaxing effects I have ever had on a vacation. We kayaked, fished and swam/snorkeled everyday. We saw Manatee, Dolphin, Egret, Bald Eagles and fish. One fish, called a mullet, jumps through the air as it makes its way up the canal. At night, the water is so clear, we shined flashlights into the water off the docks and saw crabs. We were able to walk through the quiet neighborhoods and enjoy the beautiful homes as well as the wildlife. Being able to cook in the fully equipped kitchen at the condo, saved us lots of $$$. There were also charcoal grills and smokers to use as well. This allowed us to spend money on a fishing charter. (We put the card for the charter in the book of things to do provided at the condo) We caught lots of grouper and enjoyed a delicious meal prepared at the condo that evening. The condo is only a 90 minute ride from Disney and Universal Studios. We spent one entire day touring Universal, so this would make a wonderful alternative to staying in Orlando. The clean understated nature of the condo, the kayaks and the location are all reasons we will be visiting again. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone looking for a vacation spot.

This was a great location! It was in a quiet neighborhood and with the canal running behind, it was a nice setting. Having the kayaks to use was great. The last day we were there, after giving up hope of seeing a manatee, there was one that appeared and played with us. Quite an experience! The springs were nice and easy to kayak too. Neighbors were very friendly, but beware of the no-see-em's! The condo could of used more comfy seating but overall it was a nice time!!

My family and I stayed this past weekend. The location is PERFECT!! We were greeted by manatees each morning..even this late in the season. We spent our entire days at the springs swimming and snorkling. Place was very clean! The Kayaks were the best.. my kids ages 13y, 11y and 3y LOVED them!

My family and I stayed in unit #4 over the weekend of July 4th, 2009. It is in a great location, complete with a covered boat dock and lots of decking to fish or swim off of. Three Sister's Springs was a short distance away and one of the most beautiful spots we have ever seen. The condo itself was very nice and clean, complete with everything you could want. The outside patio was nice and comfortable. We will plan to stay the next time we are in Crystal River.

Great place, manatee 50ft from dock. Kayaks were such a nice bonus, renting one is about $50 a day, well maintained comfortable home. Plan on going back in fall. Pete worked with us on about a 1 day notice. Thanks again, Avery

Great location. Lots of manatee during our stay the week of Thanksgiving. Our kids were out kayaking 15 minutes after arrival. Manatee literally right off the dock. Pete was very good to work with on the whole rental experience.

My family and I stayed here for four days in July of 2008. The condo is very well maintained with very comfortable beds. We loved having the kayaks to use every morning or to just swim down to Three Sisters. I would love to just move right in and spend my mornings sipping coffee overlooking the water. My daughter wants to come back in December to see more manatees. I have to agree with her and we'll be back, for sure!
