What a great weekend w/ our 3 boys! Terrific, very comfortable home I would recommend to all my friends. Boys stay fully entertained and I couldn't keep them off the lake fishing - which was so nice to watch them from your dock! Also an added bonus they could play golf, putt putt, basketball or tennis while I got a massage. Thanks for your hospitality and we will be back next summer!
Owner response:Thanks very much and we would love for you to return. Currently making some updates for next year. Scott

We arrived on Saturday late afternoon with my family of 5, my sister and her husband, my parents, and my inlaws so there was 11 of us total. The description of the house is far from accurate. I believe it even claims the house is newly built. The house looks like it was probably built in the early/late 80's. Once we stepped inside everyone's jaw literally dropped at the sight of the carpets throughout the entire home. DO NOT rent this home unless Scott assures you that ALL carpets have been replaced.....not steam cleaned but replaced. The sleeping arrangement is another problem we encountered once we took a tour and realized that we'd been had. The home would work perfect for 2 couples with a bunch of kids in tow but that would be the absolute limit. 8 of the supposed 13 that you can sleep are all slammed into this one "cave" of a room in the basement (all bunk beds) so me, my wife, my 3 kids, and my inlaws all shared this musty room downstairs that doesnt even have a window. The bathroom downstairs went down literally the 2nd day we were there so if any of the kids had to get up and use the restroom at night we were dragging them up and down the stairs to use one of the other 2 on the main level. 7 people sharing one small restroom is quite unrealistic. The fridge wouldnt cool properly either so my father and I ended up cleaning both the front and rear coil (which had never been cleaned) on the fridge which did fix the problem. There were decks on the dock that were loose that we also secured that would have posed a hazard to the kids had we not happened to have had a tool set in the car. The trip was wonderful and the property is very nicely situated on the water which did keep the kids entertained for hours on end. The house just needs a significant amount of work that the owner clearly does not want to do. The icing on the cake was the internet. When i spoke to Scott he said the house does have internet access. After we arrived when i texted him asking where to plug in and he said behind the tv (there is nothing to plug into).... he then said we could drive to the clubhouse and use the internet there. I then stated "so we dont have internet then?" That was the last correspondence I had with Scott. It was as if at that point he knew we were upset, i had caught him in a lie and he frankly didnt care. We ended up leaving 2 days early. We will NEVER visit "Lakeside Lookout" again....I'm still contemplating getting an attorney involved purely on principal..

We had originally hoped for a house on Lake Lure, but after staying at Lakeside Lookout, I see that it's location on Bald Mountain lake is actually preferable. Bald Mountain lake does not have the congestion or large powerboat traffic of the big lake, so our kids were safe exploring the lake in most of the 6 boats provided at Lakeside Lookout. We had a great time swimming off the dock and relaxing amidst the beautiful surroundings. We look forward to returning next year.

We had a girls weekend at Lakeside Lookout on Memorial weekend and were extremely pleased with the home and accommodations. We all agreed that the pictures on this site don't do justice to the beauty and space this home holds. I know someone wrote a review about the long steps to the house but I believe you will find this on most of the homes on the lake. The dock is much larger that the picture shows and we spent a lot of time out there. We would love to visit again!!!

Excellent lake home! Plenty of room, on the lake, and all the toys you could want for kids and adults. Scott was a class act, with helpful assistance in booking this last minute trip for my family. Will surely come back!

We stayed for a weekend in October and truly enjoyed the house! The location is great right on the lake, and the basement is really neat with a bar and billiards. Also, the dock is great to sit and have a drink or coffee in the morning, plus the boats available make it great to go out on the lake. Would reccomend to anyone!

We stayed for a few nights last spring and had a blast! Beautiful, clean, spacious house with a great wrap around porch. Owners great. Pet friendly. Our 2 dogs loved it, too. A friend and her 4 kids came for a night. And even with 3 adults and 7 boys (yes! SEVEN boys) it wasn't crowded. The boys loved the downstairs and we had the upstairs pretty much to ourselves. Enjoyed the paddle boat and canoes that are available. The only negative is the long flight of stairs to get to the house and unload all of our things. Plan on going back this year is available.

This house has very little parking and stairs from where you park to the house. Not a few stairs like 50 steps to get to the house. That is the way you unload your car and it gets old fast. The house was not cleaned before we arrived either.

We stayed for a week in June with 2 children. The home was very clean and modern, ammenities (clubhouse w/ mini golf and pool) were great for the kids, lake is beautiful, my boys were able to catch some fish which was an added bonus. Mornings with my coffee and book beside the lake were perfect. Kayak was also very nice to have. Owners were friendly and great communication. Recommend visitors do a boat rental on the main lake. Will definitely be back next summer!!
