Dragonfly is an elegant, private retreat, located midway between the town of Taos and Taos Ski Valley and overlooking the million acre Carson National Forest. This gated estate on 5 acres with 6000 sq.ft. custom adobe residence has 4 master suites. Southwestern ambiance is felt throughout with viga ceilings, copper sconces, nichos, and southwestern art and decor.

Hummingbirds and dragonflies are frequent visitors in the extensive gardens. Have your morning coffee in the front courtyard garden with its rose collection, lilacs, and flowering fruit trees. A rock waterfall with waterlily pond, built-in flagstone barbecue grill, pergola, and summer swing complete the back gardens. The heated atrium has sitting areas and flowering plants year round.

The living room with its custom bronze entertainment cabinet, surround sound, kiva fireplace and wet bar offers relaxing evenings for all. Dragonfly has a fully-equipped kitchen with professional range-oven and a breakfast bar that opens to a gracious formal dining room with kiva fireplace. Children and adults alike will enjoy the large adjoining game room with indoor basketball court, air hockey and ping-pong table.

Enjoy four master suites, each with ensuite bath and walk-in closet. The main master suite has a jacuzzi tub.

Experience million dollar views from the private deck, or relax in the steam room after a day on the slopes (Taos Ski Valley is just 10 miles away). Or, reserve an in-home massage...Dragonfly's comfortable massage table is right there.

Inside and out the views will move you Taos Mountain with rainbows after summer showers...and west views of Georgia O'Keefe's famous "Pedernal" with firey sunsets night after night.

  • Dragonfly Estate is a charming yet elegant retreat. With some of the most panoramic views of the Taos area it allows for wonderful entertaining. The home is warm and accommodating to large groups of people with spacious rooms inside and serene decks and patios outside. All ages can find comfort and entertainment while staying here. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped for cooking fabulous meals while the adjacent the game room is loaded with fun activities for everyone (24/7). The bedrooms are very attractive and nicely furnished. The master bedroom has beautiful morning views of the mountainside while steam bath is the perfect way to relax after a full day of skiing. Toasting champagne on the upstairs patio at sunset could not be more perfect! Dragonfly Estate made for an exceptional vacation!

  • Offers privacy and elegance, yet close to many recreational activities. Enjoyed XC and downhill skiing, hiking along the Rio Grande Rim, and excellent restaurants. Backyard great for relaxing and cooking out. Awesome views from the decks. Hot tub to relax after daily activities.

  • We have been fortunate to stay at the Dragonfly on several occasions, usually weekends when we just needed to "get away" and relax. Well, relax we do! We spend time outdoors and explore the area surrounding the estate (which is forested, with evidence of wildlife and virtually untouched by little else). We usually fix simple meals, prepared in the great kitchen and enjoy time outside in the courtyard. Evenings, we go upstairs. fix some drinks and either read or watched movies. Before bed, we enjoy the hot tub and the private steam room. Needless to say, we sleep like babies. Mornings, we usually drink our coffee outside, enjoying the views of the valley of Valdez. We always hesitate to leave for home, when that time comes around. It is easy to forget about everything there because it is so peaceful, but with the Internet and phone (cell phones work only in certain areas of the property)we feel safe being connected if anything were to come up. We feel that The Dragonfly is clearly one of the finest properties in Taos area. And, whether you ski or not, it is great getaway, any time of the year!We are planning a small intimate dinner party in the fall for family. Can't wait!
