Our Family was thrilled to find this gem on Lake Lure. There is something for every age group and plenty of activities in the area. We hiked Chimney Rock, went horseback riding, canoeing, and took the Pontoon Boat out for a tour of the Lake., We grilled most of our meals outside on the grill. This home is well stocked with everything a large or small family would want or need for their Special Vacation. We highly recommend this Property. We surprised my wife with a 40th birthday retreat to this house. It was perfect in every way and we had the perfect trip with lots of rest and relaxation. This place makes it so easy to leave behind your daily stresses and lose yourself in the natural beauty and solitude of Lake Lure. How refreshing to have nothing to do and all day to do it. There is, however, tons of things to do if you'd like, so we will be back ASAP - with kids next time!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We really enjoyed your beautiful home on lovely Lake Lure. It was perfect for 3 generations spanning in age from 10 weeks to the grandparents who are not telling. Having the beach and pontoon boat so handy added to our over-all enjoyment as did the great deck. We are family who loves to cook and were very pleased with how well appointed the kitchen is. Loved hiking Chimney Rock. Upon leaving our 10 year old said "this is the best vacation ever"Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

What an amazing vacation we had here at the lake! It was the perfect retreat for all of to catch up with each other and just relax. Thank you for allowing us to use your gorgeous home for such a special reunion. Our children have become best of friends while swimming, boating, tubing and sharing the bunk room. We could not have asked for a more perfect vacation.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

It is our first Thanksgiving here with our family and extended family. It will always be memorable to us. Your home was the perfect size, very warm and comfortable. The deck and view were so awesome. We used the fire pit for s'mores and grilling hot dogs. We had great fun canoeing. There was lots to do in the area. Some of us hiked to Chimney Rock, some went shopping. One day the men went golfing at Apple Valley. Grandkids enjoyed Kids Sense in Rutherfordton.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

What a wonderful home you have! Thanks so much for sharing it. We rent a home for a big family vacation every year and we all agreed that this was the best one yet. I could spend my life on that deck! The view is spectacular and everything from the tree trunk pillars to the bead board walls just adds so much charm to your home.Did you find this review helpful? We stayed at Soule Haven June 20-27, 2010. There were three families sharing this home. This home has the character of a home built in the 1940's (which it was) but it has been completely updated and added on to make it a wonderful, spacious, modern home. (we loved looking at all of the original photos of the home hanging on the wall...so nostalgic and charming!) One of the most beneficial features of this home is that the deck on top of the boat house is right off the great room. So... no major steps to climb to get between the house and the water. As someone who has rented at Lake Lure many, many times, this is a huge factor. We've stayed in homes where you literally had to pack your cooler early in the morning and take it down to the lake for the day, because it was a major haul to go back and forth. There are two master bedrooms, one on the main floor, and one upstairs. The 6th bedroom is a small den on the main floor with a convertible sofa. This room was used by two 13 year old girls and there was also room to put a small cot, once the sofa bed was pulled out. It was not that private, though, as it had sliding pocket doors. This house also had a landing upstairs that had a futon sofa, where we also were able to sleep one or two children. (this was not in any photos) The basement, which there are also no photos of, is large and very COLD!! It has a wonderful pool table, a TV, and a ping pong table. We put the kids down there in the evening to watch movies, as there is only one other television in the house, in the great room. We absolutely loved staying in this home. The great room and two dining room tables more than accomodated our large group, and the kitchen was spacious and very well equipped. We loved that the house has wi-fi as we were able to stay in touch via computer. We were told that the owners would possibly be updating the den furniture, and we think this would be a great addition. The only sofa was small and it was stuffed with feathers, so there were constantly feathers everywhere. (didn't detract from our good time, though). There is also a need for a few more comfortable chairs. Also, in any rental property, there is a need to obtain a larger icemaker. We made many trips to Ingles (only 5 minutes away) to get ice. Would I stay here again? In a heartbeat! On one of the main channels of the lake, we were able to see our kids ski by, but also just float peacefully in the water right by the house. FantasticRecommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
