Beautiful Secluded Tropical Garden Optional Cook and Suv

Year Purchased: 1996

Why the Owner Chose Playa Conchal

We chose to buy the property because we have been coming to the region for 35 years and it's absolutely beautiful. We’re in an area of Playa Conchal unspoiled of construction and development so the place is very quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. A must visit!

A
Condor Restaurant

Prices are rather fair and there's a nice view.

B
Playa Conchal

This is one of the best spots at Playa Conchal!

C

Playa Grande

Great beach with good consistent surf. You can find restaurants and surf shops. There's a good sushi place too!

G

Owner's Map of Playa Conchal

Ligia is 63 and Huber 65. They raised nine children, from 24 to 41 years old now. Andres is 28 and helps to run the small family compound of two houses and two apartments at Playa Conchal. Our “Casa Rosada”, one of the houses, is the one featured here on VRBO. Ligia is a superb cook who supervises the two maids and the gardener. Huber loves kayaking and runs the remodeling and maintenance of the units. Andres takes care of customers and surfs the waves at Playa Grande. Ligia and Huber also have a large property at the Rio Pacuare area in Turrialba where they plant trees that will feed wild animals and birds. They have a beautiful orchid and heliconia collection at their house in San Jose and at the farm.

They have traveled through Costa Rica’s beaches for years. Many of them are beautiful but when they “discovered” Conchal, Minas and Playa Real - practically one next to the other - they knew they could not ask for more. They lived in Florida for twelve years before returning to Costa Rica. Six of their children still live in the US with their grandchildren.

    • I live in Costa Rica and I've been to a lot of places here, but I do have to say that this place is located in one of the most coolest and beautiful regions in Guanacaste. Many nice beaches nearby yet the house is away and quiet. 100% recommended and the service is great!

    • 5 of us stayed in Conchal for a week in December. Andres and I had been in touch regularly leading up to the trip, and I had a very good feeling about our stay. Our 3 friends arrived the day before we did, and they were shown our home. When we got the the next day, we were amazed at how beautiful the place was. We stayed in the 3 bedroom house, which could have slept about 10 comfortably. The only time we spent inside was to sleep, as our living area was outside on a patio with a hamic, kitchen, fridge, some chairs, and a table. We were steps away from the pool, about a 3 minute drive to 2 nice, secluded, local beaches. Andres' cleaning staff came by each day to see if we needed anything cleaned or changed. I was so pleased at how nice and laid back everyone was. Andres came up and joined us on our patio for some drinks one night, and we got to know him pretty well! For wildlife lovers, the house was pretty much nestled in the trees! We saw large iguanas climbing trees and beautiful birds flying around. One of my favorite memories of the entire trip was waking up early one morning, and going up by the Condor restaurant to watch the sun rise and listening to the howler monkeys. Just beautiful! I am definitely recommending this place to any friends who might find themselves in the Guanacaste region. Please feel free to email me as a reference!

    • Andres and his family were great. The house is very close to the beach, and the rooms were very comfortable. Andres provided detailed directions to local eateries and activities. We can't wait to revisit!

    • We spent 9 wonderful days here last month and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our four children enjoyed the pool, the birds, the lizards, and the local beaches. We also enjoyed the seclusion of the property and its local access to beaches. Andres went out of his way to make us comfortable and even took us on a local tour. We're already planning our next visit. This place is a hidden gem!
