Dreaming of a quiet getaway to the North Carolina coast? This completely renovated, 4 bedroom/3.5 bath beach house is perfect for your next family vacation, getaway w/friends, or even a church group retreat. The Island of Sunset Beach is a great alternative to the mainland convention/golf villa accomodations. Need more than one home to accomodate your group? Please view our other listing noted above. The homes are just 1/2 mile apart.
This spacious home is open, airy and tastefully furnished. The kitchen is well-equipped w/new stainless steel appliances. There are games and activities galore. We just added an air hockey table upstairs - a horse shoe pit and small pool table are under the house. The screen porch is a delightful spot to relax and enjoy the breeze and the ocean and intercoastal waterway views. Sun decks on the main and upper levels provide alternative spots to the beach. Access to the beach is less than 300 feet from the house. This home is no smoking/no pets. We welcome rentals from families and responsible adults over the age of 25. The house has beds for 8, but room for up to 12 if you bring air mattresses. No pets and no smoking in this home, please.
Sunset Beach is the Southern-most island on the North Carolina coast and just 20 minutes from North Myrtle Beach. Sunset Beach is one of North Carolina’s most peaceful beaches with over 200 feet of natural dunes before the first row of homes. The atmosphere is quiet and family-oriented, even during peak season months. One of the Nation’s most beautiful wildlife preserves - Bird Island – is just a short walk down the beach. Observe deer, wild goats, sea turtles, and other sea life as well as enjoy miles of undeveloped dunes and marsh areas.
If you're a golfer, you don't have to travel far to enjoy dozens of courses. Also, we're close to many local conference centers (Sea Trail is one), making our home a nice alternative to hotel lodging.

- The house sits on Canal A, which has deep water access to the intercoastal waterway. Day trips to explore the marsh, boat to dinner, or Jet Ski in the intercoastal are great activities to add to your beach vacation. Stereo w/iPod docking station provided for guest use in the house. We DO NOT offer wifi, however there are several hot spots accessible from the house and nearby shops on the island. Guests are expected to provide their own cell phone(s) for communciation. No phone is available at the house.

A National Wildlife Preserve... about 2 miles in length, this extension to the Sunset Beach area is great to walk/jog/bike. Depending on the season, sea turtles, deer, and other wildlife can be seen.

For guests with water craft, we recommend put in at Ocean Isle marina (about a 10 min drive away). You will travel down the intercoastal and cut through Jinx Creek to Tubbs Inlet and then to the cana
Twin Lakes, Crabby Oddwaters, and Bill's Seafood are easily accessible.
For our guests with water craft, the best place to put in your boat or Jet Skis is at nearby Ocean Isle Marina. You can also fuel up or schedule charter fishing trips here.
Food Lion, Walgreens, CVS are all at this intersection. Lowes Foods is another mile down the street towards Ocean Isle.
If you put in your boat at Ocean Isle, you'll come down the Intercoastal towards Sunset, and cut left into this waterway towards Tubbs Inlet and Canal A. Detailed directions are located at our web site (www.thebugghouse.com),

Welcome to our Beach House! This is our second home on the island - the canal provides easy deep water access for anyone with a boat, jet ski, kayak, or canoe. It also provides an alternative venue for when the family gets tired of the beach. The house was built in 1991, and has undergone a full consmetic renovation, including new appliances, lighting, flooring, ceilings, a rebuilt fireplace, and plenty of furniture upgrades. The home is open and airy - fantastic views inside and out - we love it and hope you do too!

We had a wonderful time. My husband, son and son-in-law really enjoyed fishing off the dock. The house was attractive and well maintained. The description and photos were very accurate.The owner was very helpful and called to give us information about area (restaurants, amusements) if needed. I definitely would recommend this to a friend or relative.

Loved this fabulous well maintained home. The beautifully decorated house is very well equipped making it perfect for a relaxing vacation. It was just a short walk to the beach and the owners provide a beach buggy to transport beach things! We like being on a canal which adds another dimension to being at the beach. Baby items, play and pack and high chair, were available. The area under the house, with the extended deck, is a great place for family gatherings and a great place to catch the ocean breeze. In all this is a great house and we hope to rent it again next year. Home owners were wonderful to work with.

My family (wife and 2 kids) spent the past three weeks at this fantastic house on Sunset Beach. This is our second time staying at the house and thoroughly enjoyed each day. Our time playing golf, exploring the beach, trying to catch crab, building train tracks, and day long bocce ball tournaments made for a memorable vacation. Thank you again, for allowing us to stay at your home. We are already making plans for our next trip in the fall.

We had a great time at the Bugg House on Sunset Beach. If you are looking for a family friendly beach house, this is the house to rent. We have a little fishing boat which was perfect for docking at the house and fishing in the canal and catching flounder and crab. Eating fresh flounder on our last night of vacation was a real treat. A very enjoyable vacation and Sunset Beach is the best!

We had a wonderful vacation at this house. The canal is beautiful, and my son caught a shrimp lunch off of the dock! The house is well equipped and clean. It is well maintained. It is an easy walk to the beach. There are ample beach toys in the closet. We will absolutely rent this house again.
