A Fun Base for Your Southern California Vacation.
Most people that visit Southern California stay in Hotels and rush to attractions such as Disneyland. Those that stay in hotels miss living the true Southern California Beach Life. As a guest in my home, you have the full use of the house. I am available for tips and assistance as needed. There is a hello in the morning and a good night in the evening. You will see me when I come home or go out. I have my own room & private bath and office in my home. You are on your own to cook your meals, enjoy the entertainment family room, the hot tub and the dining area. I make every effort to afford you privacy to enjoy my beautiful home.
There is nothing like a few idle days to enjoy the beach and the simple pleasures of the beach, the pier and the downtown area. That is why the guests in my home are given a ride in my old ford woodie surf wagon and I play them a tune on my ukulele. I even have a surf board or a boogie board to play in the surf with. Imagine an evening on the beach, under the stars and cooking a hot dog over your own open fire pit. There is nothing like a brisk stroll on the beach or an ocean swim in the morning before you start your day. My home is kid friendly and there are even a few sand toys to play with on the beach. Perhaps an elegant meal in one of Newport Beach’s fine restaurants or (my favorite) a meal at Dukes Canoe Club (located at the foot of the Huntington Beach pier) is something for you.
I have had many guests over the years that I have introduced the beach life to. It has been a joy for me to see them fall in love with it. You see, this is my favorite spot on earth. There is so much to do and see that there is no way one trip will cover it all, so I know that when I say “Aloha”, you will return and visit me again.

This is your destination for year round great weather. [The average annual temperature is 62 degrees f., average annual humidity is 64.7% and annual rain fall is 12 inches with the majority falling from December through March]. While it is hot in LA and the inland cities, it is cool with clean ocean breezes in the summer and warm and clear in the winter. Why not pick the place with the best weather?
Huntington Beach is world recognized for its beautiful white, sandy beach. Surf conditions? We are Surf City and host international surfing contests. It is a surf location for the pros and beginners alike. Huntington Beach is the third largest city in Orange County. Huntington Beach is a safe place to vacation. It is one of the last beach cities that permits beach fires.
My home is located at 9021 Bermuda Drive, Huntington Beach CA 92646. You may want to use a map program to review its relative location to sites you plan to visit. It is close to all that Southern California has to offer for a special vacation. Major attractions: 26 minutes from Disneyland / Knott's Berry Farm, 61 minutes from Universal City Studios in Los Angeles, 48 minutes from the Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles/ LA Art Museum / LA Zoo/Hollywood Blvd / Beverly Hills shopping etc. It is a 15 minute ride to Newport Beach where you can catch the Catalina Express (Boat) to Catalina Island.
It is a 1 hour 36 minute drive to Mission Bay in San Diego/ Sea World, San Diego Embarcadero/ San Diego Zoo. My home is a 15 minute drive to Santa Ana, John Wayne Airport or a 45 minute drive to the Los Angeles International Airport. The best part is the short walk to the beach.

RATES:
Off Season: October to March: $175 per day, 3 day minimum ($525), $1050 per week. In addition there is a $150 departure fee on all stays.
Peak Season: April to September: $350 [er day. 3 day minimum
($1050), $2100 per week. In addition there is a $150 departure fee on all stays.
Holidays: High rates apply to holidays.
Payments are to be in the form of cashiers checks or money orders made payable to Guy Adams and sent by mail to 9021 Bermuda Drive, Huntington Beach, CA 92646
Dates are reserved upon receipt of the Deposit.
The Deposit: is $300:
Holds dates open and acts as a security deposit.
Full payment must be received 30 days prior to arrival.
Until confirmed,rates are subject to change without notice.
Cancellation within 45 days of the reserved date will
result in a cancellation fee of $200. Cancellation withing a week of arrival will result in a fee of $300.
Deposit and Rent must be received 30 days before arrival. Later payment must be arranged in advance.
Check in is 3:00PM and check out is 11:00AM. Times can be flexible due to travel arrival and departure time. any changes must be agreed to in advance.
Meals can be provided for a fee if arranged for in advance.
Wireless internet connections are available for a $5 per day fee.
There is no smoking permitted in the home.
No pets are permitted in the home.
The rental is for guests only it is not to be used for parties.
Overnight street parking for RV or boat/trailer is available across the street.
The owner has quarters on site and can be available as needed.

Why the Owner Chose Huntington Beach
I bought my home because of it being Huntington Beach. There is no way you can not love the town and weather. As a waterman,I love to play in the surf and walk the beaches. It is near by to the Newport Harbor and all the yachting opportunities. There are places to ride horses, play golf and just watch people. As I often point out to guests, it is freeway close to almost everything and it does not take forever to get to a freeway. In short....I love my home.

My home is a joy because it is a beautiful and relaxing place to spend time. The 24 hour hot tub and close walk to the beach are guest favorites. My front porch is a popular hand out. From time to time I will play my ukulele and sing a song or two. The woodie ride is the most unusual element of making my home your vacation headquarters.

Hello, I am Guy Adams. Born in Southern California I grew up surfing, playing my guitar and enjoying outdoor sports of all kinds. My years of sailing confirmed that I like people and over the years have had fellow sailors stay with me. With my family gone, I now enjoy entertaining vacation guests in my home. As a sailor, I learned how to travel with and live with many different types of people in a relatively small area. My guests find me friendly without being a pest. stayed for a week,guy might be the kindest human on earth.he stayed at the house but we never saw him unless we needed him.and we needed him.he knew every thing about every thing and saved us a ton of money,and the home was awesome.we payed twice as much at the Hilton for a single room with few amenities. he did so much extra stuff for us we felt guilty.has a great BBQ and every thing on earth.what a great time and you love this home and its a short walk to the beach.and 2 miles from downtown Huntington beach and one mile from Newport beach.when we left i thought we were going to cry we will definitely be back,thank you again guy...

We couldn't have asked for a cleaner more comfortable home to stay in while in Huntington Beach. I'm a single Mom with adult teenage children. We were able to get away for a quick one week vacation to California and didn't have to worry about anything. For once I didn't over pack in fear I'd forget something. Guy had EVERYTHING we needed and more. Like the other review stated.. if he didn't have it you didn't need it. Guys house is truly immaculate. So clean and comfortable, a close drive to everything. I take my kids and their friends to Huntington every summer and always rent a house when I do. This was our first experience with the owner living on property, but I must say it was very nice. Guy is so kind and helpful in every way. He made every effort to stay out our way and always had interesting stories and history to share when he was with us. We had a great time and would most certainly stay in his home again. I knew well in advance that this was his home that we would be sharing with him. Not sure what happened with the woman in the earlier review. When you stay at Guys home be prepared to be treated like a Queen because the only thing I really did was make some extra coffee in the morning. It was sad to leave on our final day but a relief to know I didn't have to clean and do dishes, etc... like in other places I've stayed. I'd suggest Guys home to just about anyone wanting a beautiful home to get away to. I wouldn't recommend it for families with very young or small children as the bedrooms are upstairs and the staircase is fairly open.

What a great time we had! This place was amazing, just as advertised. Guy my thanks to you for making us feel so welcome, we honestly felt like royalty, especially being toured around in your woody. The children had an incredible vacation with tons of memories that will never be forgotten thanks to you! We felt right at home. We were without any wants or needs thanks to Guy, if he didn't have it we didn't need it. Guys place is immaculate, comfortable and located in an amazing spot with access to the beach and very close to downtown Huntington Beach. Our family thanks you and we will miss your hospitality, and wisdom, and kindness, not to mention your hot tub, remember any time your in our city your a welcome guest!!!! Keep in touch we miss you already!

My family (brother, sister and her husband and 2 little girls and myself) had a wonderful stay in Guy's home! It was a little strange at first knowing the owner of the rental would be staying in the home with us, but Guy is a very nice man who made us feel right at home and we quickly felt comfortable staying there. It was a beautiful home and we comfortably slept 8 people most of our stay as one of my friends and his 12 year old daughter also joined us on our vacation. Guy was such a sweet man and it didn't seem awkward to any of us. We behaved as we would anywhere we would have stayed regardless of the owner living there. We drank beers and bbq'd on his grill just about every night, and the hot tub was enjoyed by the whole fam as we were all exhausted from fighting the waves all day. Guy was helpful in helping us find cool coves for the girls to enjoy finding sea creatures in and anything else we wanted to find. He even dropped us off and picked us up at the beach one day because it was sooooo packed we couldn't even find a spot to park. I highly recommend this as a place to stay for families, we had a wonderful time! And the woman who stated she never was told the owner lived there either lied or didn't read all of the email with the rental agreement. Every email communication with guy included a statement that he was living in the home!

We rented this house for a girls get away weekend and lingerie shower for our friend who was getting married. When we showed up, the owner, Guy, made us all feel extremely uncomfortable. None of us girls knew that he and his girlfriend (who was also lurking around), lived IN the house. Had we known this we would NEVER have rented this house for the weekend. His bedroom was upstairs right next to all of ours. I thought that this was completley inappropriate. Especially since he KNEW there were 8 young women that were going to be staying the weekend at his house. And he never once let on that he actually lived inside of the house. I would assume, that if you were renting your house to a bunch of girls, that you would at least mention that you lived in the home and make sure that was okay with the occupants. We decided for the safety of all the girls, that we should not stay in the house for the weekend. I have rented several vacation homes and never once have I come accross one where the owners actually LIVED inside the home and rented it out. The description should read, "vacation rooms for rent inside owner inhabited house" so as not to mislead any more people, especially if you are a woman.
Owner response:It was an unfortunate situation, Sara was informed that I lived in my home. It appears that her friends were not aware of that. I do offer an unusual home rental and because of that I have made every effort to make it clear to my guests before they sign the contract of rental that I live in my home, I have a bedroom and separate bath. Moreover I have a private office where I spend most of my home time. Sara was also made aware that my home is not rented for parties. Upon arrival and check in, her guests wanted another place to stay and cancelled the contract. Sometimes there are misunderstandings and for that I am sorry. I also am sorry about the guests that were turned away because of Sara's holding of the dates.

Our 4 day stay in Guy's home wonderful. The home is perfectly located close to the beach and Southern California attractions. When we didn't want to go anywhere his home was a wonderful place to just kick back and relax. The home is clean, well maintained, and spacious. Guy expects you to treat it as if it were your own home and we did enjoying home cooked meals and relaxing on the front porch. Based on our stay, I would recommend his home others. Regards, David.
