We loved the home. It was centrally located to eveything we wanted to do. My teenage boys took over the downstairs. They loved the game table, fireplace and being near the hot tub. The wood burning fireplace on the main level was my favorite. The kitchen was fully stocked. Furniture and beds very comfortable. The pics don't do it enough justice. Lots of room for all. Liz was very accomodating. She answered all my questions and sent a lot of great information. We look forward to going back in the future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Five minutes from Hawksnest for snow tubing, etc. Comfy, cozy, decorated with lots of loving touches, with a great layout for privacy. The owners couldn't be nicer to deal with. The cabin was as described, clean and ready, even better than expected! If you go in winter, heed the advice for chains and four wheel drive, as the hills are steep . Everything is there to make your visit a fun weekend. Highly recommend!!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful time at the Crazy Moose cabin! It was the perfect place to spend Christmas with my family! We found the owner very accommodating and easy to work with. She answered my many questions promptly and thoroughly, which I appreciated. The cabin was very comfortable and clean, and the owner's attention to detail was top notch- from the fun Moose decor, to the extremely well stocked kitchen, to the beautiful Xmas decorations, and the very comfy beds! We even had snow, which gave us the opportunity to make a couple of fires in the beautiful stone fireplace! My brave children also enjoyed the hot tub in those freezing temps, while I sat in front of the warm fire sipping hot chocolate, enjoying the quiet of the evening. The cabin is located in an area that offers a wide variety of family activities. We chose to go ice skating and had a great time! Overall, our experience was excellent and I would definitely recommend a visit to the Crazy Moose Cabin! We hope to go back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I just spent 4 nights at the adorable cozy cabin. Working around my job, we timed the trip to catch the end of leaf viewing, but got a bonus when it snowed for 3 days. Since our car is not 4 wheel drive, we decided to consider ourselves snowed in for one day, and crazy moose is the perfect place for that. We kept a fire going (easy since the wood was waiting on the porch for us)whenever we were not out walking in the snowy neighborhood, and the kitchen had everything needed to cook up the comfort food we bought at the grocery in Boone. Wild turkeys came through the edge of the yard, and we had more turkey sightings and multiple deer and pileated woodpecker sightings while out walking. Crazy Moose's decor is as cute as the name implies and every detail for a perfect stay has been thought of. We can' wait to return!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had such an amazing time staying at The Crazy Moose! The weather was perfect! We enjoyed going to Sugar Mountain for Octoberfest and coming back to the home to especially enjoy the warm and cozy fireplace! Our family, including 2 teenagers, a 5 year old and 3 year old, had plenty to do from roasting s'mores over the fire, enjoying the hot tub or just relaxing downstairs playing fooseball and watching football, it was an amazing time!! We are ready to book our winter vacation and stay here again...if their is availability!!! Liz: thank you so much for supplying everything that one could think of! I left some extra cooking/baking items in case the next visitors need a pinch of this or a little of that. The beds were so comfortable and the decor is wonderful!! We can't wait to come back!! Thanks so much again for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Recently stayed at Crazy Moose cabin with my husband ,3 daughters and their husbands. What a wonderful place. The cabin was everything the listing said it was and more. Clean and beautiful. The owners should be proud of their cabin. Tastefully decorated which gave it a truly homey feel. Everything we could possibly need as there all first class and in A-1 condition. Beautiful decorating touches everywhere. We especially enjoyed the hot tub at the end of the day after our many hikes. Plenty of nearby activities for everyone. We even went trout fishing, caught trout and cooked it that evening on the giant grill. Once off the mountain everything was a close distance. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Can"t say enough good things.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Our family had a blast! The cabin easily slept 8, was very clean and is centrally situated near mountains (Beech & Sugar), is close to great attractions (gem mining, swimming holes, Mast General Store, local towns, etc.). It was nice and relaxing having coffee on the back deck in the morning. The hot tub was fun, the kitchen held our entire crew, the bedroom loft is very nice and the high main room with top to bottom fireplace was great. The owner was very good to deal with. Great place to stay! P.S. We took a ride one day (2 hours each way, but so worth it) down to the U.S. National White Water Center down toward Charlotte for a day of adventure. It was one of the best days that our family has ever had.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

It was a wonderful week to refresh, relax, regroup with family in this clean, well decorated,& comfortable home. A terrific porch (beautifully landscaped entry) to sit in a rocker and listen to the breeze in the trees and the wind chimes. Catch up on reading while sipping a cup of choice while my 4mon. old granddaughter and I became very content. It had a great grill and picnic table to dine outside. The kitchen is well supplied. The hot tub was perfect to help ease sore muscles after our hikes and a fun game table for evenings of fun. I look forward to our next time in this lovely home.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We so enjoyed our 12 days at Crazy Moose...the home was exactly as pictured on the website. It was immaculate, well stocked and fun to live in. We especially like that there was a master bedroom suite on each floor. Liz was responsive to all our requests which made for an easy stay. Be warned that Seven Devils is on the side of a mountain and there are quite a few hairpin turns to get to the cabin.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: Andy and I live in sunny Florida so we love to spend time in the mountains. We have 3 kids and between high school and college breaks we still manage to spend several long family weekends in the mountains.
Why the Owner Chose Boone:
The area between Boone and Banner Elk is beautiful. In the summer there is lots to do, hiking, biking, rafting and zip lining. Fall season brings the beautiful autumn colors on the Blue Ridge Parkway. In the winter there is snow tubing, skiing and ice skating. The picture of Andy and I was taken before a hike around Sims Pond.
