Never renting a place sight unseen I was more then apprehensive to take the leap of faith and rent a property in Belize. From start to finish renting this property could not have gone any better. Carmen the owner gave me a good feeling from my first phone conversation and never let me down once. I was almost skeptical after reading the reviews about this place because I thought it sounded too good to be true. Well folks I now can tell you from experience every single detail is true. This was the location of my wife's dream wedding and we couldn't have picked a better place. All the photos on this site can not show just how beautiful this house actually is. The details to making this your best vacation possible is unsurpassed. Because this was our wedding we thought this would be a once in a lifetime rental for us, we'll that went out the window two days after we got there. We are already making plans to return again soon. We were a party of six Canadians who are all well travelled, but always stayed at resorts. This by far was a better way to go. My wife and I and our four guest came home understanding what a stress free vacation is all about. Like myself if you're reading this I'm sure you have read hundreds of reviews everting you read about this place is true. If your a first time renter this is the place for you. The ease of opening this house up and getting everything ready for your week in paradise could not have been better thought out. Carmen has thought of every detail and made it idiot proof. The cost of this rental is unbelievable for what your getting. I felt like a millionaire for the week of my wedding. Thank you Carmen, we look forward to renting your little piece of perfection again. I am prejudiced - have been to this property twice in the past year and think I will visit again this September. A great property. Fishing is great with use of the boat. My son and I fished last October and caught plenty. The main house is comfortable and the detached one room place is great. Would highly reccomend plus the owner is very attentive to his guests comforts. Usually he calls when you arrive and has people on or near site to help you. He is accessible if you call. Can not think of anything bad to say about this place. Then there is the city of Placencia. It is still growing but still rustic. The people are wonderful and it is amazingly safe. The locals mostly walk and ride bikes and the POLICE have batons only in public. The restaurants are more than affordable - they are cheap. My son and I ate in town a Wendy's daily with the cost for the pair of us being $30 each night. Also if you wish there are many other things to do. About 15 miles from the place is the world's only Jaguar Preserve - Within a few hours drive any direction you can find Mayan Ruins. There is also the Monkey River Tour where they take you on a boat ride to Monkey River and then you walk thru the forest and if lucky you see and here monkees. Then if you are a party animal - they do that too every weekend. Anyway if you go to Placencia think about staying at this place - If you go once you will go again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We have stayed in several vacation rentals before, this was right up there with the best. Loved the quiet location with the ocean right "out the door". The house is very well built, "at home feel" and has the best appliances I have seen in vacation homes. We didn't plan on going to town everyday but it was an adventure to go and meet the people of Belize. We tried all the grocery stores and found Nang Kee's in Placencia the best. Found fishing on the pier very entertaining, fresh shimp for fishing can be found at the Mayan Market, very nice people. Sea kayaks were something I never thought we would use, loved them, lots of fun. We go on vacation to decompress, this is the ultimate place to do that.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

A perfect vacation! This was our third and best experience ever in renting a home for our vacation get-away. Our days were packed with a visit to Monkey River, snorkeling with guide, the Mayan Ruins, and fishing - again with the perfect guide. The extremely well-equipped kitchen and great BBQ made dining in so easy but we also managed to enjoy some fabulous dinners at nearby resturants. Our three university-aged "children" loved the local nightlife- when they had enough energy left from our busy days enjoying the tropical sun and beautiful waters. Carmen has done everything possible to ensure that guests staying in this gorgeous house have everything they need - detailed directions, best shopping tips, the best fishing and snorkeling guide in the area, a well-equipped kitchen, the best of amenities, and even wireless connections for the young people to keep in touch. The furnishings were comfortable and quite lovely, and the chairs and lounges on the palapa were great. I don?t know how but he also arranged perfect weather, gentle evening breezes and sparkling warm waters that kept us fascinated - if were not in the water, we were watching the occasional sailboat and interesting sea-life. Carmen was extremely helpful both as we were planning our trip, and after we arrived with answers and suggestions. Snorkeling equipment, kayaks, fishing equipment, and the availability of the Boston Whaler all ensured that even our lazy days were full of fun. We will most definitely be coming back to visit this paradise again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

My friends and I had a great time in Belize and staying at Carmen’s beautiful and immaculate beach house and guest house. The property was indeed built with the best in materials, appliances, and furniture which made it very relaxing, comfortable, and spacious. We were all very happy with the accommodations and the private/quiet location this property had to offer. Also, having the Caribbean Ocean right out the back door with a private pier/palapa and beach made this an extraordinary great value. We were very surprised to get so much for the price we paid! All the amenities in the house were excellent from the kitchen appliances/chef’s cook ware, utility room with washer/dryer, computer table/TV, covered verandas on first and second floor, a great BBQ, and the sports equipment (kayaks, fishing gear, and snorkel equipment) just made everything convenient and wonderful. When we decided not to cook, we simply went to the restaurants within 2 miles of the beach house or to the places in the village. Carmen helped with providing information about Belize and places to go which saved us lots of time and money. The dive/fishing master who services Carmen’s guests picked us up right at the pier and we had amazing day trips diving and fishing to the local offshore cayes and fishing spots. In addition to this, we used the Boston Whaler boat to do some great SCUBA diving and fishing on a coral reef just off the beach. The boat was just a fantastic deal! We had the best of times, and this property is truly a place in paradise, and one that we will visit again. A dream vacation in a dream home! My husband and I stayed 12 glorious days in this beautiful home with all the amenities one could want. The home was also very comfortable. We did not have a car so went fishing the second day with Jr., who was wonderful. We caught 8 fish and 16 lobster. We then had Greg come by with his food truck and purchased all the fresh vegetables, fruits, eggs, and meats that we needed. The following morning, Luz came in and cooked entrees for our stay that I could refrigerate and freeze. All I had to do was make a salad and vegetable. Perfect! The palapa was fantastic. We watched the sunrise every morning while drinking our coffee. I planned this trip for 6 months and Carmen was very accommodating to answer all my questions and make suggestions. The perfect host even though we never met him! I would highly recommend this property for just about anyone. Placencia was a fun half-day trip to shop and eat. The little markets close to the home had all the necessities, ie: soda, canned goods, crackers, frozen meats, etc.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

This is truly a luxury beach home at a great price! This home was obviously custom built with all the finest materials and furniture. The privacy this home offered and all the high end amenities far exceeded what we expected. We enjoyed the peace and quiet along with the exotic birds and palm tree surroundings. Relaxing under a beautiful palapa and pier over looking the Caribbean Ocean just doesn’t get any better than that. We enjoyed all the home amenities which are too many to mention, and the kayaks, fishing gear, snorkeling, and diving gear. We also enjoyed the services provided by the diving/fishing guide who picked us up at the pier and took us to some of the best fishing and SCUBA diving experience we ever had. We even found the kayak fishing and diving on a coral reef near the pier was quite unexpected. The beach house is conveniently located near some very nice restaurants and grocery stores, and located close enough to the village without being effected by the late night activities. Thank you Carmen for the great experience and time, and all the help you provided to make our stay the best we ever had. We will highly recommend your beautiful home to all our friends. We are already planning our next trip back with much anticipation.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

The house is wonderful, modern and all in working order. We were very comfortable, and were able to completely relax. We absolutely loved the pier and palapa. The fishing and snorkeling opportunities seemed endless, and Junior (divemaster) was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun too! There were so many things to do and see in the area, it would take several trips to sample all of it. Definitely save one evening for the Maya Bistro, the food was excellent. We highly recommend this property and Carmen made us feel like we were old friends. Great Vacation.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

"My fiance and I stayed at the Beach House, and we had a wonderful time. The main house is a top notch home that we found very comfortably furnished, very clean, and aesthetically beautiful. We did not spend much time in the guest house but it appeared to be well built, and perfectly comfortable and furnished. The pier is everything it appears to be in the pictures, fantastic! The beach house location is another big plus as we felt completely safe the whole time. Carmen was accessible by phone and email, and accommodating with any questions. I liked being close to Placencia Village but not actually in it. There are numerous good places to eat near by (we liked BJ's and the Mayan Bistro) and Carmen's fishing/diving guide is great. All the included amenities are new and quality brands. The included WIFI Internet access is a huge benefit as is the central AC, which ran like a champ. We will be going back next year, and with the lay of the land figured out, we hope to have an even better time than this year. A great bargain, and money well spent."Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
