My husband and I had a quiet Christmas getaway in this lovely home in Borrego Springs. The views from this home are phenomenal - 360 degrees of mountains. We woke to the amazing colors at sunrise seen from the bedroom. The home is spacious and comfortable. Thank you, Richard, for sharing your home and for the simple renting process.

This was really just right for us. We enjoyed our stay very much. Comfortable and relaxed the whole time. We found everything we needed there, didn't have to eat out once and didn't want to leave. Hope to visit here again. Thank you for letting us bring our little ones! Anne

My husband and I and our two kids stayed at Richard Heim's Windgodbird property for 5 days last week. We have been to Anza Borrego before and we have fallen in love with this beautiful desert area, the small town and the friendly people. Richard is definitely one of those people. He is kind, helpful and extremely easy to work with! His house is welcoming, warm and relaxing. We would go on hikes and loved coming back to a beautiful, modern kitchen where meals were easily prepared. The house has great views from every room! Walk out the front door and you have wide open spaces and desert and hills as far as the eye can see! We especially enjoyed the walk to the dinosaur sculptures that can be seen from the kitchen and living room windows. The house and the area around the house is very kid friendly. Our kids would explore the desert environment right around the house and they enjoyed biking and riding their scooters in the neighborhood and up and down the spacious driveway and into the garage. Very few rental places let you use a garage. There is also a bike in the garage and it was perfect for us, because we could only fit 3 bikes in our van and, SURPRISE, an extra bike in the garage, so we could all ride together! Another favorite past time was playing UNO on the patio while enjoying a drawn out breakfast in the sun. In the evening we would watch movies or check out the fantastic star studded desert sky. My only complaint is that the bed in the master bedroom was so comfortable that my husband and I had a hard time getting up in the morning!! ;0) THANK YOU Richard. We will definitely be back. :0)
Owner response:Thanks.

This immaculately clean, quality home was exactly as described by the owner. It's in a quiet area, with desert views out every window and from each of the three patios. We appreciated the game room as a computer area, where we set up our laptop and used a printer that the owner kindly provided. We loved cooking in the well-equipped kitchen. The owner was most responsive to any questions we had during our two weeks stay. We highly recommend this rental to anyone who wants to enjoy the many activities that Borrego Springs provides its visitors.
Owner response:Thank you so much for this kind review. Hope to see you again next year.

We took our friends from Japan to the desert and stayed at your place. We were surprised by how beautiful it was. The house was tastefully decorated and so comfortable. We loved the kitchen and the big living room. The house was close enough to town to be convenient but far enough to be surrounded by the desert. The view from the living room is spectacular. The house is also within walking distances to many of the metal statue sprinkled throughout the area. One note of caution for those not familiar with the desert, you should never go barefoot, even in the house. We found a scorpion in the bathroom. Otherwise, the house is perfect...clean and very comfortable. You will not regret renting this place. Richard was great, very easy to work with.
Owner response:Our guests always seem to have a very good time at this house. However, we do caution our guests about desert critters and especially cactus avoidance. Coyotes, road runners, scorpions, rattle snakes are common to the area and if you see one in the wild, it's a special treat. But most people will never see one, instead they will almost always only hear the coyotes at night. When in the desert, were proper clothing to protect yourself and leash your pets to avoid contact with the cactus and other desert animals.

My family had the opportunity to stay in WindGodBird for a recent stay in Borrego Springs and it simply does not get better than this. I recommend it for families staying in the Borrego area, especially if they need a longer term place filled with all the amenities to make it feel like "home." It is located at the edge of town (but still only 5 minutes from Christmas Circle), and perfect for enjoying beautiful Borrego nights under the stars. The house has everything one needs to enjoy a desert getaway! Thanks again for everything, and we look forward to another stay soon.

Richard, We LOVED our stay at Windgodbird. Borrego Springs is a wonderful place and your home only adds to the stay. It is polished, comfortable, and lovely. The stars at night are amazing. And my daughter (3 years old) loved marching through the desert and nearby paths to see the amazing sculptures. What a great vacation!
