Our Summerhouse Beach And Racquet Club condo is a unique vacation destination located on beautiful Crescent Beach, near Matanzas Inlet. Summerhouse is just minutes from St. Augustine’s old city and the many exciting and informative attractions found there.
Just 15 miles from downtown St. Augustine and half way between Jacksonville and Daytona Beach, Summerhouse is located on the southern end of Crescent Beach just north of Matanzas Inlet. Besides the many historical and cultural offerings found in nearby St. Augustine, there are several well known, family-oriented attractions found within a two hour's drive of Summerhouse.
50 miles North of St. Augustine is Jacksonville, home of the Jaquars NFL team, Mayport NAS, Jacksonville NAS Cecil Field Commerce Center with Equestrian facilities, beautiful St. Johns River.
Heading south to Daytona Beach on scenic A1A or interstate 95 is the Daytona International Speedway, home of the Daytona 500, Pepsi 400, and other NASCAR events throughout the year. Traveling further south to Cape Canaveral, visit Kennedy Space Center and experience NASA's launch facilities, massive rockets, interactive simulators, and live shows.
Heading southwest on route 40 is Ocala, home to numerous high-profile horse farms and one of the major venues of the Winter - Southern Circuit - Grand Prix events. Ocala is also home to Silver Springs where the original "Tarzan" movies were filmed back in the 1930's and 1940's. This 350 acre natural theme park also hosted the filming of "Sea Hunt" in the 1960's.
Further south, on route I-4 just outside of Orlando you'll find Disney World and its 4 theme parks; The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. Also located just off I-4 is Sea World with its rides, animal attractions, adventure camps, and aquatic shows, and Universal Studios with its 3-D interactive shows and rides.

Why the Owner Chose St. Augustine
As young parents, we chose St. Augustine as our place to vacation because of the family oriented activities, beaching, walking, fishing, surfing, swimming. Restaurants are plenty and offer a variety of styles to choose from. Walking in the "old city" is always relaxing and pleasant to the eyes. Now that we are grandparents, we still love the beach, the walks, visiting the "old city" and the many fine restaurants with great entertainment...and there is always the beauty of God's awesome creation, the ocean. We never get enough of the clean surroundings here, the flowers, birds,wildlife... just beautiful.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Summerhouse if very family oriented, with 4 heated pools, 6 tennis courts, basketball courts, shuffle board, racquetball, play yard, grill area. Surfing (board rentals nearby at Sunrise Surf Shop), surf fishing, canoeing, etc. is enjoyed. Boat storage available onsite. Old city, St. Augustine, is only 20 minutes away and is a wonderful place to spend an evening or daytrip. Marineland is 10 minutes away, Orlando Disney World can be done in a day trip from our condo! Or do as we do....spend the whole week at the beach, planning an evening dinner date at one of the great restaurants in St. Augustine, near the Fort.

Joe ( retired Jacksonville Fire Chief over 34 years) and wife, Sally (homemaker/childbearer of 5), have been spending summer vacations with our children at Summerhouse for over 25 years. We purchased our first Summerhouse condo in 1998, sold it in 2008 and bought our current unit 165 a month later. We love Summerhouse! The location is on one of the most beautiful white sandy beaches, surrounded by history, private homes, bird sanctuary. Our children are now bringing their children and claim it as their favorite beach vacation.
