We have vacationed on Hilton Head Island during the months of February and March for the past ten years, always in a Plantation Villa. This year we decided to rent a unit within walking distance of the beach, shopping and dining locations. Our stay in this unit was perfect. The Coligny area has small one screen movie theater with art and foriegn movies, a variety of stores and socially inviting coffee houses and bakeries. The newly created walkway to the beach is terrific with bench swings, rocking chairs and plenty of opportunity for watching people in all ages and shapes. Very clean restrooms and outdoor showers are notable. Our unit was all that was promised on the website. Yes, the photos are just as we found them to be with our own eyes. One small glitch with the Wi-Fi was quickly worked out between Tammy, the server and us. (We recommended it be secured, however). The Building Super and many of the owners we met were helpful and very interested in where we were from, etc. without being nosy. There is ample room for a family of four to six. We entertained a dinner party with six adults with room to spare. The cooking utensils and dinnerware were adequate for a vacation rental. All appliances worked fine with one exception. The toaster is on its last legs. All three TV's were flat screens and worked fine. The underground parking area was very clean. We parked at the very end of it, close to the stairs which lead almost to our front door. We also had easy access to two elevators. We'd come to this place again and highly recommend it. And,no we haven't been payed to say all of this. It was simply a good find and we want to pass that along.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The condo was immaculate with new flooring and very private. The furnishings were in excellent condition. It was about a block to the beach. The owner was VERY helpful and always available to answer any question and rectify any problem immediately. I would be happy to recommend this place to our friends. We found a restaurant at Coligny Beach area that had exceptionally good pizza-The Flarbread Grill.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Unit was pretty much as advertised. (Tho, initially, I wasn't excited about the rug stains on the MB rug. But as my wife reminded me, "this is a rental unit & not every treats it as their own, as we do".) The F.B. Villas basically seems to have two "views"--the parking area or the lagoon/tennis courts/pool area. This unit is at the extreme left end (West?) of the building and the view through the patio windows & balcony overlooked the lagoon and trees/bushes and was totally private! Meaning if there's just the two of you, you can meander throughout the condo in your "altogethers" and not be concerned about anyone seeing you. :-)) The owner was extremely helpful w/explicit directions getting to the unit with our rental car from Savannah, Airport, as well as offering some suggestions re bike rentals ("Pedals"--owner Chuck Jaffe was great to deal with) and quick to respond to other things. I should mention, though, that there is only one telephone in the unit (land-line) and someone previously had turned off the "ringer" option, so that for the first 3 days of our stay no one could reach us (Sr's). At 4 in the morning (4th day) it suddenly dawned on me that perhaps that there might be an off/on switch on the phone and that it could be turned to "off." That solved that problem, quickly. While biking to the nearest post office on our 4th day at HH, we discovered "The Red Fish" restaurant, which someone had just mentioned to us while in a clothing store. And while we certainly didn't get to eat at every restaurant in HH, I'd have to say that their early bird menu ($14.95)--ALL of THE FOOD--was excellent! Including a FREE glass of house wine! We ate there every other night for 3 nights & I'd have gone back one more time before leaving HH, but the "boss" wanted to try another venue for the experience. One last suggestion. Because of the location so near to the beach--(and the 'light' attraction to turtles, apparently)--there are no street lights. At least in September, when we stayed there. Consequently, when we ventured out (walking) during daylight hours & returned after dark, we were having to "grope" our way back in the dark, save for a little help from the occasional car headlights or other folks out with their flashlights. We later discovered a flashlight in our unit but the batteries were dead, so a reminder, just in case. Overall a delightful first trip ever to Hilton Head in a very comfortable/quiet condo, which we are quite happy to recommend.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: All carpet has just been replaced, October 2012!!

The Good - Good price for a 3 bedroom and a good amount of space. The kitchen was fine and having a washer and dryer was very convenient. The pool and tennis courts were not crowded and were well maintained. The elevators and underground parking made the loading and unloading easy. Beach was a short walk across the street - it was a busy area of the beach (which could be good or bad). The Bad - The condo was not clean - outwardly yes but under the beds and couch were piles of garbage. It came to our attention when a roach darted across the floor of the twin bed room. Chasing it we came to find food and other stuff under the bed. Under the master bed had an empty water bottle and an unused diaper. Under the couch there was a full dust pan - it took us about a half an hour to clean up the place. We didn't see but one other roach and it's obvious the condo gets treated but they need to find a better cleaning service. The bed linens could also stand some updating. Conclusion - I would stay here again but would do an inspection and call the cleaning service if not happy at check in.Owner response: My regular villa cleaning person was in a car accident and had to quickly find a substitute to fill in for her that Saturday. Unfortunately, the villa did not get its regular thorough cleaning. This was an isolated instance.

The condo is very nice and the gounds are well kept. The late October daytime temperatures ranged from between 65 and 80 degrees, with low humidity. The only minor negative was that the beach entrance is more than 500 feet, perhaps in the 1500 foot range. However, regardless of the actual distance, it is still an easy walk to the beautiful beach. This was our 10th or more trip to Hilton Head. The golf was great and there are all kinds of restaurants. We enjoy Reilly's pubs. They are moderately priced and have diverse menus. We will return to Hilton Head.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

The description of the villa was very accurate. There was ample room for 8ppl. The cleanliness of the condo was acceptable, but did not exceed our expectations. However, the owner appeared to take great interest in our feedback. The owner was extremely helpful and attentive adressing all of our questions and concerns. We would definitely recommend this property to our family and friends. We enjoyed Caligny Plaza very much and the local feel of the entire area. This was our first trip to Hilton Head, but certainly not our last!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here for a week. The villa is even nicer than the pictures and all furnishings are in good condition. Everything worked perfectly and the internet was very high speed. The mattress in the master bedroom was extremely comfortable. There is plenty of storage space. The view from the living room and master bedroom windows was of a lagoon with lush foliage and offered total privacy.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

If you are looking for a clean, inviting, relaxing place to stay, THIS is it! With two toddlers, this condo was in the perfect location. You are SO close to Coligny (not even a 5 minute walk), close to the beach (just walk to the new sprinkler area/public beach and you have easy stroller access). The condo was perfect. I usually clean ANY place that we rent for vacation and this condo needed NOTHING! It was perfect. It was clean, smelled wonderful and really allowed us to relax and know that our two children (17 months and 3 years) could roam and play without worrying about the place being dirty or dangerous. EVERYTHING you need is here! The master bedroom and bathroom are to die for. The linens are top knotch....The decorating is something out of a magazine! Then there is the balcony. We ate almost every meal there (when we weren't eating out!) You can watch the turtles float around and the occasional alligator! Totally awesome. The pool is really kid friendly and very nice. We will 100% rent this place again the next time we stay in Hilton Head. Tammy was diligent in answering any questions we had and corrected a simple issue we had with the washing machine immediately! With all sincerety, we recommend this condo for the PERFECT vacation rental! We hope you have as much fun as we had! :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The apartment was the perfect location for our first ever week on Hilton Head. It had everything we needed, linen, towels, comfortable beds and everything so clean and well-maintained. The location was excellent too, as the restaurants, shops and beach were a 5 minute walk away. We took the Jepsons advice and rented some bikes to tour the area. We also spent time lazing by the pool and met other families. Any queries were answered promplty. All in all a very relaxing holiday, and we felt very comfortable. We would thoroughly recommend this apartment!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: My husband, four kids, and I have always lived in the Midwest and love to vacation. No matter where we have vacationed, Hilton Head Island remains a family favorite. Hilton Head offers something for everyone in the family. The beach, endless beach activities, bike trails, golf, tennis, swimming pool, shops, restaurants and nature preserves appeal to us all.
Why the Owner Chose Forest Beach Villas:
We chose to buy a vacation rental in South Forest Beach near Coligny Plaza because of its great location. We are just a short walk to the beach and the new Coligny Beach facilities which include "jumping water, restrooms, changing rooms, swings, benches and chairs." We are also just a short walk to several shops and restaurants, a grocery store, miniature golf, movie theater, coffee shop and ice cream. The bike path which contains over 50 miles of trails crosses right in front of the entrance to the villa giving you freedom to bike to other areas of the island.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
Our property location enables the vacation to be as active or relaxing as the vacationer wants. You can go to the beach, bike ride, shop, and dine out. . . or simply relax by the villa's pool, play tennis on the villa's tennis courts, or just relax in the newly remodeled, three bedroom, air conditioned villa that has all the amenities of home. The unit has 4 flat screen TVs, HDTV, WiFi, a fully stocked kitchen and comfortable seating and dining for up to 8 people. The balcony overlooks a lagoon full of wildlife. The kids especially enjoy the turtles and various birds. Because the villa is cement, it is very quiet and you won't even realize you have neighbors.
