Beautiful, Accomadating Home
Beautiful, Accomadating Home
This house was perfect for the nine of us who stayed! It was only a drive up the mountain to Seven Springs, which was great. The house was very clean and had everything we needed, the owner even contacted us upon arrival to make sure everything was there that we needed. The owner is very prompt in getting back to answer any questions we had. The living room and kitchen were big enough to allow all of us to sit together, relax and hang out. I would recommend this property to anyone, from famlies to groups of friends! We will definitely be keeping the contact information and returning in the future!

Owner response: Thank you Ashley. It is nice to know that our home is enjoyed. We do try hard to make sure our guests are comfortable. When we travel we always keep in mind what we like and do not like about places, so we try to keep our place 'comfortable.' I do hope you return for another vacation. Roberta and Bernie
We spent President's Day weekend at the chalet and had a great time! The whole experience from start (booking and handling everything with the owners) to finish was wonderful. Roberta and Bernie were wonderful to work with, answering all questions I had quickly and meeting us to show us everything we needed to know. The chalet was equipped with everything we needed from towels, to bedding to all the supplies to make big dinners! This made packing for the trip very easy! The kids loved sledding down the hill and throwing snow balls in to the creek and watching them float down. Sunday we went snow tubing at the resort which was just a short drive and the weather cooperated by dropping a foot of fresh snow! I definitely recommend this location and would stay here again!

Owner response: Thank you so much....I too enjoyed meeting you and your family. I do love the art work the kids left for us! I forget how adorable 'refrigerator art' can be. It will stay there for a long time! :-) Glad the weather co operated with you...I was worried..but 10 inches of perfect snow!!! Wonderful! Please consider a summer visit with us....the kids will love the creek. Keep in touch Roberta
I was very impressed by the location, cleanliness, coziness and hospitality of the owners! By far the best I've rented in this area. The price is very reasonable and the location was just right. The place was very warm and cozy and had everything you needed to make the trip enjoyable. I will definitely recommend and will hope to come again on my next trip to Seven Springs or Ohiopyle. I highly recommend for families and groups! Five Stars in my book!!

Owner response: Thank you ... Thank You Maria. We certainly got off to a hectic night with the bad weather! But it really worked out for you...the skiing was PERFECT! It was fun to finally meet you ....with all the conversations we had via e-mail I thought we had known each other forever! LOL I do hope we get to meet again...Roberta
Enjoyed very much, only about 8 to10 minutes from seven springs, be careful which back roads you pick, some are very rough and 4x4 recomended. Our best way was closed due to birdge being out. We had great weather and plenty of room. An extra roll of paper towels and a bigger baking sheet or 2 of them would have come in handy but found everything else very useful. Only thing i would recomend is some ant killer, kept finding ants by back door and sink. Would deffinitly recomend and stay again!

Owner response: We knew those ants were going to start their march! lol I think the warm weather brought them out. An exterminator is on their way. We will definitely buy a few baking sheets and make sure that we leave another roll of paper towels for our guests too. Thanks Jered...Hopefully that bridge is repaired before your next visit...that was a big surprise to us too!
Great space, great value
Great space, great value
Our group of nine - 2 couples and 5 teenage kids - stayed over the Martin Luther King weekend. There was ample room for all of us - we were able to enjoy a comfortable dinner in the spacious kitchen all seated together, we had plenty of space to stretch out and relax after a long day skiing, and we had beds to spare. The owners met us down the street when we came into town, lead us to the property, and showed us around. They were a very friendly couple, and very interested in making sure we had a good weekend. The kitchen was stocked with everything you'd need - dishes, cooking and eating utensils, pots and pans, toaster, coffee maker, dishwasher, etc. - and the fireplace, TV, wifi internet, and all other amenities were in fine working order. We found almost everything we needed and had a great time. The only thing we couldn't find was a cutting board and we wished there had been more hooks to hang wet clothes on after skiing. We mentioned these in an email to the owners the day after we left, and they sent back pictures of a new cutting board and a hanging rack installed in the cabin the next day! I would definitely recommend this place and would rent it again myself when we go back to the area.

Our weekend at the Chalet
Our weekend at the Chalet
We had a wonderful long weekend up in the Pa mountains. The Chalet was well equipped with everything we needed to make our time up there pleasant. The kitchen was well stocked. There was plenty of room and an extra nice room in the basement to use for games or just for a getaway. My friends and I enjoyed our stay very much and are already planning a return trip.

The BEST most beautiful space to get away!

I wish I had the words to say how much my family and I enjoyed ourselves at the Cottage! Although we had a rough ride up because of the snowstorm, Roberta and Bernie waited for us to make sure we made it to the cabin safely and called us later to make sure we were safe--we really felt as if they treated us like family and we couldn't have appreciated it more! The cabin itself is spacious enough for 10 girls to lounge around comfortably in front of the fireplace or one of the many chairs or sofas, play games in the downstairs playroom, or go and relax in any one of the 4 bedrooms. We prepared large meals easily as the kitchen was well stocked and had a dishwasher for easy clean up afterwards. The bathrooms were stocked with towels and were spacious and clean. We were lucky enough to have snow and had a wonderful time sliding down the hill in the yard. After playing we all took a nap and drifted off to the sound of the creek flowing alongside of and in front of the house. It was so peaceful! My 6 year old daughter kept asking if we could keep the house, I kept saying how much I loved it there, my teenagers had the chance to be away from some of the awful things they deal with in the city and didn't want to leave, my sister and I want to find some property out there one day, and my mom said that Bobbie is absolutely adorable and that she really liked her-- we all agreed! :) Best place, best time we have had EVER. We will be back!

Owner response: What a nice review.....Thank you so much! I do hope you visit us in the summer! (no weather to worry about!) lol AND the kids will love playing in that creek!
My family and I stayed at the chalet for a long weekend this Thanksgiving. The house was perfect, Plenty of room and very homey. The kitchen was well equipped and had all we needed to prepare a perfect Thanksgiving dinner. The setting is quite beautiful and very relaxing. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking to get away from it all and still have all the amenities you need to enjoy yourself in comfort.

Owner response: So nice to have met your Mom and Dad. Hope you visit us again!
I am spending a long weekend here in prime "leaf time," and the property is beautiful. The chalet is very well maintained, well stocked, and roomy. The entire front of the chalet is a deck where we could sit outside and enjoy the fall weather, and the front room stretches the whole way with multiple seating areas and the fire place. The kitchen table held six adults easily. The bedrooms are cozy, and my friends with kids, liked the game room -- either to send the kids down to their own playroom and/or TV -- or to get away themselves. LOL This is just an all-season home. I first planned to come in the summer and enjoy the stream and cooler mountain weather. Fall in the Laurel Highlands can't be beat, and winter... the Seven Springs Resort is only a few miles away. Beautiful and fun all year round! The owners were wonderful, working with me when my plans changed. Having fire wood for the fire pit, a log in the fireplace, cookies and popcorn to get us started... and told me how to find my way around and to the local store so I could stock up. I will be back!

Year Purchased: 1951
About the owner: We have owned this property for 60+ years. We first vacationed in a 100 year old farm house. This home was built in 1976 after the farm house got too much to handle. We once had a 15x30 ft in ground pool!. The pool was fed by the creek water. brrr .lol We hope you find the 17 acres fun to explore.
Why the Owner Chose Champion:
Our family has enjoyed this property for generations. There is a 1+ acre field in the back of house that the whole family can enjoy.
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet:
The creek in the front of the cottage is just amazing. Kids of all ages love it. Catching crayfish was always my favorite and now is my grandson's favorite. Building dams and wading and 'dipping' is so refreshing on a hot summer day.
