Beautiful house

Our group of 4 adults really enjoyed this house. High ceilings and nice appointments...at the end of a quiet street next to the beautiful national park forest. The rooms were spacious, a comfy downstairs seating and eating area, with a cozy loft for watching DVDs (no tv reception). Lots of extras in the kitchen -- tea, spices, and lots of dishes...even a plate of cookies awaiting us on arrival. It's the kind of place where you could sit on the deck or by the window and be content forever (we saw a coyote trot by!). The owner was in the owner's suite downstairs and was delightful and helpful...recommended the lovely sunset at Glacier Point. The 11-mile drive to the valley is a 30-minute scenic view...in high season you want to plan to beat the crowds. Cell phone service may be an issue, but we were permitted to use the house phone at no charge if needed (we used it to make reservations for dinner in the valley and gave the number to family in case of emergency) and there's no internet access...but lots of great books, magazines and games. One note: there are no laundry facilities in the house...you go down the street to nearby condos.

I've stayed at the cabin a few times now and there is no place like it. First- the location is unbeatable if you're looking to rent a house. It is very close to Glacier point and not far from the valley floor. Pretty much all of Yosemite is at your finger tips. And it's surrounded by beautiful forest. There is actually a great little one-mile hike right there that goes to the peak of the hill and has fantastic views. Secondly- this house is brand new. A lot of the cabins in Yosemite are pretty outdated- and while that offers some old time charm- I prefer this house for having brand new appliances, clean and comfortable rooms, and new bathrooms, towels, kitchen utensils, bedding, etc. Not to mention, we had ten people so we were worried about space, bathrooms, etc. but we were all totally comfortable and happy! I definitely recommend staying there and I cannot wait to go back again myself!

Our family had the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Oso Lodge in Yosemite West June 15th through June 18th. This newly built custom home is well equipped, very spacious and easily accommodated our group of six adults and 6 small children. We especially appreciated the quiet, secluded, end of the road location of the home that borders the National Forest. The home is centrally located and is within 30 minutes of the Valley, Glacier Point or Mariposa Grove. It was a pleasure working with owners Barbara and Michael; they were both very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Oso Lodge is highly recommended for your next stay in Yosemite. We can't wait to return!

Our family gathered in Yosemite to hike Half Dome and we rented Oso Lodge for our trip. The home was more spacious than the pictures allow. It is situated at the end of a street and so lots of privacy. The kitchen was well equipped, and the house was spotless. The living area had comfortable and cozy couches and chairs placed in front of the fireplace. Perfect for relaxing after a hard day hiking. It was great to sit around the picnic table style kitchen table and play games. Barbara has supplied her home with the amenities that out of town folks would need: towels, shampoo, games and books, extra spices and condiments came in handy. Also, Barbara is extremely easy to work with. I had sent her numerous emails to ask further questions, she always responded promptly and thoroughly. Would I recommend this rental to others? Absolutely! Thank you for sharing your home...

Presidents day in the snow

Property appears to be recently built, in excellent shape, and well equipped. It snowed heavily the day before and the evening after we arrived. Snow removal occurred shortly after we arrived and was well done. Snow removal the next day was not done well at all. We used the snow shovel that was available. Other than this minor complaint (the reason for not getting an "excellent" rating), it was a great place to stay. Owner was applogetic. I would stay there again and would recommend it highly. There is no TV reception but there is a DVD player.
Owner response:Yosemite received over 5 ft of new snow over the 72 hours over the Presidents weekend , I was happy our quests were able to get to the house with all that new snow! I am glad as well that they enjoyed our home.
