Carved plaques with antlers from Austria decorate the high walls and antlered chandeliers hang from the ceilings. Newly-constructed Yosemite Copper Bear Lodge has cathedral-like windows for views of the forest and distant mountains. A small mountain creek meanders by the outside deck. Teak rockers line the deck for resting your feet after a long day of hiking in the high country or leisurely wandering around the valley floor. The great room has a large stone fireplace. A 42-inch flat screen television and blu-ray are available for watching a movie. The kitchen is fully equipped. The dining table can seat approximately ten to twelve. Phone for unlimited local calls. The home is surrounded by dogwoods, maples, large white firs, pine, and cedar. The home has two queen beds, two twin beds, and two bunk beds (one with trundle). There is a pool table and board games in the loft. The loft has leather high-back chairs for reading.

We were born and raised in California and have treasured going to Yosemite with our families and friends. The annual trip to Yosemite was the high point of each year. Our fondest memories are of our trips to Yosemite. Because of our strong love for Yosemite, we built a home in the park.
Why Steve chose Yosemite West
We have been vacationing at Yosemite for over thirty-seven years. Generations of our family love the park and all the available activities that Yosemite offers. The park's beauty is unmatched. This new, charming house has much to offer to you and your family.
What makes this House unique
Close to the valley floor and Glacier Point. The home is within the park's gates. Badger Pass Ski Resort is close by. Relax in wooden rockers on the front deck after hiking or sightseeing all day. Play pool, arcade, or board games in the loft. Large selections of DVDs. Fully equipped kitchen for cooking and baking. Home decor gives you the full mountain experience.
Great family rental in excellent location!
We stayed at the lodge in July 2018. The house is decked out with everything you need for a great stay, especially for families. The kids loved the arcade game machine and the pool table, and also enjoyed rummaging through the DVD collection. No cable TV but the kids got over that pretty quickly, along with the limited internet connectivity. Steve had stocked the place with absolutely everything we needed, from toiletries and pantry items, to kitchen utensils, etc. The grill was great, and absolutely spotless. One of the best things about the location is it's proximity to exploring the valley - only 25 mins or so to the valley floor and 20 mins to Glacier Point. Fantastic place to stay and I would highly recommend it. We look forward to staying there again on a future trips to Ypsemite.
This was an epic trip. Our first time to Yosemite. Valley Floor tour, biked around the valley, lower Yosemite Falls, hiked Sentinel Dome, Glacier Point, Star-gazing tour, Mist trail to Vernal Falls and up to Lower Nevada, back out the John Muir trail. Life-changing experience for me, my wife, 11 year old son and 8 year old daughter. This was all equally matched by the splendor of your amazing home. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. Incredible location, and your attention to detail is beyond compare. We appreciated all the little touches you all created. Wish we had a down day to hang at your cabin. Maybe next time!
Again—we want to express our sincere thanks for the opportunity to spend some time in your amazing home.
All the best,
stunning mountain getaway
Our family stayed in this charming lodge for 5 nights at the end of April 2018. It far surpassed our expectations. Not only was the decor charming, the house was stocked to the brim with every possible amenity. The kitchen area was large, permitting several people to share in the cooking duties. The "kids" (our 30-somethings and their significant others) enjoyed the pool table and game arcade in the loft. We felt far away from our hectic lives in the city and looked forward to the end of the day when we could gather in the living room and share our days' experiences. Steve was extremely solicitous and responded to our inquiries promptly. Being close to Glacier Point Rd. was a plus as it was opened for the first time this spring on the Saturday we were there. All in all, a very perfect vacation!
This house was absolutely stunning. The location was perfect... there was plenty of room for all the extended members of the family. From grandparents to grandkids... this place had it all. My kids were in heaven when they saw an old school arcade game and pool table.
The owner was responsive and helpful. The house was well organized. There were many stairs up... which gave way to a beautiful view!
We loved it! The kids cannot wait to go back. I agree it is important to get groceries before entering the park which we did on the owner’s suggestion.
It’s perfect! I wish I could give it more stars!!!
Just perfect for our extended family of 8
Comfortable and easy access to everything! Thank you.
We stayed in August for 4 nights. The lodge is fantastic. Tucked away inside Yosemite Park less than 30 minutes from the Yosemite Valley and very close to the road up to Glacier Point. Yosemite is breathtaking and it was a real pleasure to come back to this lodge at the end of each day. It's designed and furnished to a very high standard. Lots of space and stunning vaulted ceilings. The only thing that would make it even better would be access to a washing machine - otherwise perfect.
Thank you for the 5-star review. I am so pleased that you had a wonderful time in Yosemite and enjoyed our lodge. We are so blessed to own such a large house centrally located inside Yosemite National Park. Many of the furnishing on the walls came from Austrian mountain lodges and are one of a kind. The home is large and spacious but also exudes a sense of coziness in the rooms, especially the great room with its large, stone fireplace. As mentioned in the HomeAway/Vrbo website, we and most other vacation rentals in the park do not provide guests access to the laundry so we can control water usage during California's critical 5-year drought. There is a coin op laundry nearby that guests may use and one in the valley at Housekeeping. Thank you. Looking forward to your return.
The beautiful Yosemite Valley is 20 minutes away. Glacier Point is approximately 25 minutes away. The Giant Sequoia Trees of the Mariposa Grove is approximately 35 minutes away. Skiing and snowboarding at Badger Pass in the winter. Hiking trails near the home.
