Casa Verde is a unique Mexican hacienda style home, located in a small gated community on the sandy shores of the Sea of Cortez. This beautiful home was built in 2000 and has all the modern conveniences, a fully equipped kitchen, all linens, towels and beach towels. It has spectacular 16 foot palapa (palm leaf) ceilings, local stone walls, a courtyard with a fountain, lushly landscaped grounds, and mature palm trees. Casa Verde has been described as 'Mexican Sophistication'. There are miles of uncrowded beach, swimming, world class fishing & golf, snorkeling, kayaking, diving, hiking, ATV riding, shopping, great local restaurants and hours of wonderful relaxation. You will love it. Casa Verde consists two houses that can accommodate up to eight people. The Main House sleeps 6 people. The Guest House sleeps 2. The houses can be rented together or separately. Casa Verde is about one hour north of the Los Cabos International Airport, and ten miles south of the town of Los Barriles.
Casa Verde Bed & Bath Rooms: The spacious master suite bedroom has a king-size bed with locally hand-made headboard and table lamps, a 16-foot palapa ceiling, a breath taking sea view, sliding glass doors to the beach porch and a custom cedar walk-through closet. The over-sized master suite bathroom has a large Mexican-tiled shower, a Mexican-tiled vanity with a beautiful talavera sink. The relaxing whirlpool bath looks into a garden. A door in the bathroom opens directly into the same enclosed secret garden... a private hideaway. In the Main House, in the true Hacienda style, both guest rooms have their own keyed entry that open to the fountain courtyard. Both rooms, and the over-sized bathroom, have 16 foot palapa ceilings, Mexican decorations, and unique window coverings. One room has a king-size bed, the other guest bedroom has two twin beds.

The house is amazing, right on the beach in a private bay. It's far enough away from the hustle of Cabo but still has nice amenities near by. A fun way to spend St. Patty's Day! The owners are great and a pleasure to plan a trip with. We look forward to going back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We had a truly wonderful week at Casa Verde. It is more beautiful than the photos, perfectly off the beaten path, and the most relaxing and restorative week for us. The owners take great care of the property and add all the little touches you'll appreciate. Our daughter (7 yrs) loved playing in the gentle bay, riding on the ATV we rented (a must), and we couldn't get enough fresh fish tacos and sunshine. We will be back ... with friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We have been coming down to Baja for many years and Casa Verde is now, by far our favorite place! First, the hosts, Fred and Marsha, are the most gracious, kind and generous hosts you are likely to meet. The house itself has everything you will need in a vacation home, yet feels as relaxed and down to earth as Fred, Marsha and the Baja people you will meet if you take the time. The beach is great with only a few locals here and there and the water is calm and beautiful. There is always something to catch in the East Cape and near Casa Verde if fishing is your thing. If you are looking to ride ATV's or find some other adventure, Fred will hook you up with the right people. If you are looking to relax, get a massage and get some good Baja cooking in house, again, Fred will hook you up. We did all of that and everyone that Fred and Marsha introduced us to were great! If you are looking for a vacation in the the East Cape, don't miss Casa Verde and the opportunity to spend some time at a unique and relaxing place with some wonderful people as your hosts!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a great time at Casa Verde. We would definitely stay here again and would whole heartedly recommend Casa Verde to friends. The location is so unique. Completely isolated but close to town. The house has and EXCELLENT beach that is virtually private. We saw 4 or 5 other people on the beach in the 10 days we stayed there. There is a nice reef just off shore immediately in front of the house and the snorkling is very good. when the winds and surf are clam the visibility under water is the best I have ever experienced. The house itself is comfortable clean and well maintianed. We traveled the entire length of beach by ATV from the northern end of Los Barrilles all the way to La Ribera. Along the way we saw all the different areas of town and many of the houses that we looked at on line before we came. We didn't find a single location or house that we would have prefered to have stayed in.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My wife and I (and friends) have been down to Casa Verde around a half dozen times.The last time was July 9th 2010.We have never had a bad experience and can not imagine ever having one.Casa verde is everything and more in what is described by Fred and Marsha (the owners).The house is always imaculate when you arrive.Everything in it's place.The house is airy and spacious, not a problem for three couples like we had this time.If you have not seen or been to the sea of cortez you owe it to yourself to get down there.The fishing this year was fantastic for us. Most of our fish were caught on the fly.This is a place you can go and forget about everything and drift away into a state of mind that is rarley possible. Just writing this makes me want to leave for Casa Verde tomorrow.I cannot imagine a year with out a week or more to Casa Verde. Probably the best part of the experience is dealing with the owners Fred and Marsha. This is a first class opperation all the way through start to finish.By far and away the best and most economical rental in the area. Give it a try,you will never be disapointed. Wade in Chico Ca.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: We started going to Baja over 40 years ago. We loved the area, the fishing, the many activities and the people, so much, In 2000 we build our home, Casa Verde. We designed the house, oversaw it's building, designed and furnished the interior, designed and did most planting of the lush garden that now exists. It was a labor of love. We hope you like it a much as we do. We love to share the 'Baja Feeling'. We are a couple who believe, 'The quality of life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away' (Author unknown)
Why the Owner Chose Los Barriles:
It is very easy to explain why we bought and them built our vacation home on the East Cape of Baja. The property is on the beautiful shores of the magnificent Sea of Cortez. It is sunny more than 300 days of the year. The fishing is some of the best in the world. It is away for the crowds, some what like Cabo was 30 years ago. And the local people are warn, friendly and the true spirit of Baja. It's also a great place to wiggle your toes in the sand. The choice was easy, it makes us feel good. We hope it does the same for you.
