  We had a wonderful time and this home really accomodated our multi-generational family vacation. The grandkids loved the pool and offered a wonderful alternative when the grandparents wanted to relax and just watch them splash around. The proximity to the beach and playground was great. The street is quiet and so evenings on the porch were great. Meals were easily accomplished with all the seating options and it was great having a bed for everyone, even had a couple left over. Looking forward to our stay in 2013. The extra refrig. was terrific and there is so much provided we brought stuff like chairs and beach toys we didn't even need.

  This impeccably clean six bedroom and three bathroom cottage was perfect for our family reunion as its layout allowed for the family to gather as well as space for those who needed their private time. Once we parked the car there was little need to do anything but walk to Lake Michigan, the park, or into town for shopping or dining. It's so relaxing we were able kick back and enjoy each other's company over a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening while sitting on one of the two porches. Without hesitation, we would unequivocably recommend this cottage to our family and friends. The owners take pride in the hygiene and maintenance of this property.

  Have vacationed in this home numerous times, and have always loved it. Large enough to accomodate more than one family without feeling crowded. Even with the house full of people, there are places where you can get some quiet time. The porches in particular are one of my favorite places to spend a morning. Very comfortable and clean without being "fussy". Nicely equipped kitchen, functional grill if you want to eat in, central location if you want to go out. Walking distance to the public beach and park and a pool if you don't want to walk. Great golf around Southhaven if that's your thing (Hawkshead for "serious" golfers - plus lots of other really reasonably priced places for the less serious). Just a perfect place to kick back and have fun with your family. Highly recommended.

  We loved staying in this vacation home. The accommodations are lovely, comfortable and immaculate. The neighborhood is peaceful and beautiful. And the porches are the best place in the world to relax! It is an easy walk to the beach and a 2 minute drive to the best blueberry farm in Michigan. The listing description is accurate and the owners are extremely attentive. This is a fabulous find!

  We just wrapped up a week at this spot and enjoyed every minute. The house was just as described - it was clean and conveniently located 3 blocks from both the beach and town. It would be possible to vacation here without EVER getting in a car. We had 4 generations on vacation together and from the oldest (88) to the youngest (7) all had a fabulous time. Another nice feature is the separate TV rooms - 1 upstairs and 1 down. That way the kids have their own space. We grilled out often and the kids used the pool for late night dips. Don't miss the fudge at Kilwin's - a short walk to downtown South Haven. Have fun!

  We had a great time in South Haven in this lovely home. Plenty of space for our big bunch of family. Bedrooms are all decorated so nicely! Too bad the weather wasn't as beautiful as this home. Thanks Carolyn! Hope to get another chance at better weather in the future.

  Sunny Side Retreat is everything the name suggests and more! The two story house was great for accomodating a large number of people of all ages. It's walking distance from the beach, playground, and the delightful downtown South Haven.It's also close to the various maritime museums and other attractions such as water sports. The property itself was impeccably clean and maintained, and signs throughout the house remind you to keep it that way. The owner is helpful and honest. Overall, my family was very satisfied with our visits two years in a row!

  We had such a nice time at this beautiful cottage. Plenty of room to stretch out and relax with all the comforts of home. Spacious kitchen with a cute table make it easy to chat with family while cooking. Washer and dryer came in handy. The enclosed porch is a great place for meals outside. Short walk to the beach and into town.

  This house is fantastic! It was true-to-the-pictures and neat-as–a-pin, in a great walk-to-everything location. The décor is a charming combination of beach cottage and vintage chic. We had a large group of people stay at the house, who were a variety of ages. The house is so roomy that I never felt crowded. The gracious owner provided outstanding customer service and patiently answered all our questions about the house and surrounding area. There’s something for everyone to do in South Haven, whether it’s going to the beach, touring the local maritime museums, or hitting the trails for biking and hiking. In the morning, it was wonderful to have breakfast on the screen porch and say “Hi” to the people on their way to the beach. We loved the downtown area which includes a first run (but very inexpensive) movie theatre. I wholeheartedly recommend this rental and can’t wait to go back.
