Timber Sea Sojourn is the ideal getaway for one to two couples or a small family. Located about two hours north from San Francisco off the stunning Pacific Coast Highway (Highway One) it provides an escape from city life and a way to connect with nature. The property consists of five acres among the redwood forest offering privacy and seclusion. The house is full of windows and french doors along with high vaulted ceilings allowing generous amounts of natural light to flood the interior. Gas powered fireplaces in the main room and master bedroom add ambience as well as warmth. The huge deck off the great room is the perfect place to sit and relax the day away. And at the end of your day, you can take a dip in the wine barrel hot tub while soaking up the sights and sounds that surround you.
There is plenty to do if you choose to venture out. A number of coastal and redwood forest trails are within minutes from Timber Sea Sojourn and beach access via Stillwater Cove is a quick five minutes drive up the highway. The towns of Sea Ranch and Gualala are located north about 30 minutes drive and offer a handful of shops and restaurants to explore. Annapolis Winery is tucked back among the hills and makes for a great half day trip. Kayaking, fishing and other water sports are also available.

Our family enjoyed a beautiful Mothers Day weekend in this Timber Cove home. The entire experience, from making arrangements with the owner to walking through wild flowers on the ocean bluffs was fantastic. The house had plenty of room for the 4 of us (all adults). The kitchen was well supplied with good quality cooking equipment, as well as a Webber bbq on the deck. When you add in the fact the the Timber Cove part of the Sonoma coast is nothing less than stunning, our weekend stay was as perfect as can be.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Tom, we are so glad you and your family enjoyed our home! We loved having you and look forward to having you stay with us again. Thank you for the lovely review!

I almost don't want to write my review, I'm afraid it will make people book the cabin and I won't be able to visit anymore! Four girls, one dog, and three days, and the only problem we had was that we only had three days. The cabin is situated perfectly to be bright and sunny, and has everything you could possibly want to cook with. The windows, of which there are many, look out onto a peaceful view, and the ocean is just visible from the dining table. We walked around the neighborhood a few times a day, and although our calves hurt from the climb, we loved the houses, views, ponies, and fresh air. The sunset from the bluffs is amazing, worth the very short walk across the highway. We had a few problems with the electronics, and got a prompt response on how to work them properly. All four of us agree that we would love to visit Timber Sea again!Owner response: Thank you for the lovely review! We are so pleased that you all enjoyed the house. We hope you come back and visit again soon!

I stayed at Timber Cove for three nights with my family. It is a beautiful property, in the perfect location for anyone who want to mushroom hunt, hike, kayak....Or never leave the house. The only clarifications I would put out there is to advise anyone renting to get your directions written down before you reach the coast . Cell coverage is very spotty/non-existent, and the owners did not provide any directions with the check-in info. It's not right on Hwy 1 (which is part of why the property is so nice!) so you'll need to prepared to make a couple of easy turns. I also noted that the listing still says that there is a sofa bed, but there isn't. Instead there is a queen bed in a very tiny room (think closet). It wasn't a problem for our group, but may be something that others would be surprised by. All in all, I was very impressed at how well stocked and decorated this house is. I will certainly be looking this property up any time we head out Timber Cove way!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This peacefully seren home is just the place for restful rejuvenation! Take a book, a nap, a dip in the spa or a strolle with the kids and family pet. We started the mornings off with fresh ground coffee and a dip in the spa - What a treat! The beautiful forest surrounding the home and a view in the near distance of waves breaking on the shore make this vacation location one for your journal and one to repeat. We drove the a few miles to Napa/Sonoma Wineries on July 4th and enjoyed wine tasting the some of the fresh local flavors. Took some time to go to Gualala River to fish and hike the trails. Thanks also for the great informational books that filled me in on all the local history about Fort Ross and the families who founded this area. I would recommend this property to everyone wanting a truly memorable experience for any occasion - easily sleeps 6 and room for an RV next to the house if your planning a reunion. The deck is huge and that's where we spend most of our time playing games, BBQing, reading and just taking in Gods bounty. If you like the outdoors, but your camping experience requires the comforts of home and then some - you will love this place!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was a beautiful place to stay. There was five of us which included 2 children (5 years old). The adults had a blast with the views and the kids ran around the house. Kept busy looking at flowers and bugs! There is this extra room, the the kids "LOVED" and stayed in, so the adults got the two main rooms to themselves! Tons of beaches to choice from! I am a huge Bodega Bay fan, but the ocean between Jenner and Gualala is so BEAUTIFUL! Bright blue waters. It is so worth the extra 30 minute drive!!! I can't wait to stay again and for longer... Owner was great to work with.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a fantastic time here. Great big deck and huge light filled living/kitchen area. The bedrooms were spread out, each with a little deck outside. The 6 of us had a great weekend, hot tubbing and sipping wine on the deck. Watched a movie on the flat screen tv. Relaxed in the Hammock. The dogs loved it I wish we could have stayed longer in this beautiful comfortable house. The owner was super nice, easy going and flexible. Would definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This vacation home is are very favorite! The home has lots of windows with beautiful views of nature and trees. You could see the ocean perfect from the deck. We love how clean and well kept it is. The owner is a dream to deal with, and he really cares about your stay too. The pictures show how nice it is, but once you arrive you are so happy to find such a wonderful vacation home. Our dogs absolutely loved their stay and had plenty of space to roam and play. The beds are very comfortable and clean. We beachcombed and took amazing hikes all really close by. We feel so sad when it's time to leave, and will choose this property year after year for our vacation. Thanks so much Jim!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

A small group of us stayed at Timber Cove over New Years and there couldn't have been a better way to bring in 2012. We spent our days lounging in the hammock, reading on the deck, throwing a football in the lawn, mushroom hunting, and roaming beaches. We made feasts and drank wine, soaked in the hot tub and played games by the fire. The house is spacious and clean, surrounded by beautiful, tall trees, lots of stars, and sounds of the ocean. Everything worked great (minus some issues with the internet) and we had zero to complain about after our extended weekend. Ahh, I want to stay there every weekend. Thank you, James!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
