The beach cottage was exactly what we expected, and worked out perfectly. The price was appropriate, the cottage was clean, and ideally situated for accessing both the north and south shore of oahu. I recommend it to anyone traveling on a budget.

While to the other homes on this property, it was quiet and the perfect size for two. Nice bedding, linens and beach towels. Just across the street from a nice walking beach was a plus, as was it's proximity to other beaches on the windward side. Overall, this is a clean, tidy studio. Although there was a hot plate in the kitchen it did not work, so it would have been better if it wasn't there at all. Also, a place for dining other than the couch/coffee table would be nice. For these two reasons I have deducted one star.

The cottAge was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed being so close to the water, which was just across the road. It worked as a home base to go sight seeing and play at the beach.

While too far from Honolulu to pop over at lunch, the cottage was perfect for a peaceful retreat from the city bustle in the early mornings and evenings. Since we were seeking a little peace and quiet while taking care of business in Honolulu it was perfect. The owner called to check on us during our stay and make sure we had everything we needed. The cottage has the old Hawaiian charm and unpretentious hospitality that we were looking for.

We stayed in this cottage for two nights before and after spending a day at the Polynesian Cultural Center, which is a very short drive away (maybe 7 minutes?). The cottage is just as advertised - it's clean, comfortable, and small, but has everything you need. There isn't a lot of extra luxury, but there are a few unexpected "extras" like hats, beach mats, a bike pump (which came in useful for us), etc. The pictures don't show that there is now a TV in the bedroom, which moves the coffee table, holding the orchids in the picture into the middle of the room, which makes it a little tight to walk from the bed to the kitchen, but it was nice to have a TV. The kitchen has a microwave, hot plate, pots, and dishes - everything you need to make just about anything. The cottage is one of three houses on the same lot that share the same driveway - the other two are occupied by permanent residents (not the owner of this cottage). They greeted us and were friendly, but you have to share the driveway parking with them, and you're close enough you can hear them talking - pull the blinds to keep them from being able to see in. The available laundry is shared with one of these other houses. I recommend closing the windows at night and using the fan and/or AC unit so as to keep out the noise of the road and birds (including an overzealous rooster down the street). As advertised, the beach is literally across the street. Just don't expect Waikiki - it's a relatively narrow beach (or maybe we were only out there at high tide) and it's right against the road, so there's a lot of road noise, but it's pretty and perfect for a morning stroll. You can't come into this place expecting a luxury resort, but it's a great place to stay with the proper expectations.

We rented this cottage for my in-laws for one week so they could have quiet time away from the rest of the family, the cottage was clean, cozy, with a very comfortable bed. We would highly recommend staying here to anyone.

It was our first trip to Hawaii and I need to tell you, It was amazing! Island is perfect: mountains, beaches, palm trees, sand, sunsets and moon walks... I can go on forever. And of course, our experience would not have been this great without a place to stay. Cottage is perfect for a couple. It has everything you can think of and more. Thank you, Sam, for providing all the little things, that are necessary in the household. Greatly appreciated. We enjoyed the area, views, being close to the ocean. Neighbors are friendly, like most of the local people. Grocery store is close too. It is a good thing that we rented a car! Trips to Honolulu, Waikiki, Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor, around the Island, North Sore surfing (I wish we knew how to do it lol, we were only watching).. Just like you said: 'Paradise'. I would recommend everybody to spend a vacation there. Thank you!

I stayed at the cottage for 8 days. Sam was kind to extend my departure checkout with graciousness. The interior of the cottage is as you see in the picture. It is clean and bright and has all the amenities one may need to prepare a meal. What I found very heartfelt is the fact there are shampoos and lotions one may need, waiting for you. I am not sure if it is from that which is left behind every person that visits, I left a suntan lotion behind. But, the cottage feels more like visiting a friend's home. And the beach is directly across the street, which offered a great seat for the sunrises and the sunsets! I enjoyed every day of my stay in Hawaii ! I am sure you will enjoy :)!

About the owner: I am a local real estate agent and school teacher here in Hawaii. I enjoy helping people learn about the Island and sharing all that it has to offer. In my spare time I go surfing, hiking, and swimming in the ocean. It is my pleasure to be able to provide a place for people to come relax and enjoy the beauty of Hawaii. Aloha!

                  Why the Owner Chose Hauula:
I chose to buy this property because of its ideal Windward-North Shore Oahu location. This part of the island is considered the most beautiful by many who visit and reside here. When staying in this area, you are away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. There are an abundance of beautiful Beaches, and verdant Mountians, to explore.
