Thanks to all our summer renters who made our first summer a big success! Book now for summer 2013. JULY and AUGUST RENTALS BY THE WEEK ONLY. I am already getting inquiries. We've upgraded to a bottom freezer fridge, flat cooktop/oven, ultra quiet dishwasher and 3 flatscreen TV'S!
The beach home you've dreamed about is right here. Come enjoy the 'most beautiful place in America'! Walk 150 STEPS right onto the sugar sand, private beach from the back porch of this 1100 sq. ft. condo. It is tastefully decorated with 2 comfortable sized bedrooms and 2 baths situated right on SLEEPING BEAR BAY AT THE HOMESTEAD.
Being on the GROUND LEVEL offers alot more comfort and ease. Watch your young children play right outside the back porch. Come and go to the beach much more easily from the back porch. The beach will be much more inviting if getting there isn't such a chore.
The beach area at SOUTH BEACH is premium. Unlike some other areas, it is wide and the sand is smooth. It is private so you will feel you have the place to yourself!
Take in THE VIEW through 25 ft wall of windows in the common area overlooking Sleeping Bear Bay and South Manitou Island. This is one of the best views because there are few trees to block it. Or enjoy the Lake Michigan breezes on the porch while you watch the amazing sunsets. Make a cozy fire in the fireplace and roast marshmallows. Or visit Leelanau Observatory, a 5 min walk up the beach, to gaze at the stars.
The enclosed master bedroom boasts a KING SIZED BED and an en-suite OVERSIZED MASTER BATHROOM with jacuzzi/shower tub. You won't be tripping over each other. In addition, there is a large dresser and two mirrored closets. A bay window of 3 separate windows gives lots of light.
The other bedroom has TWO TWIN BEDS, a mirrored closet, a dresser, a desk and a large window. All rooms contain a high powered ceiling fan, a Tv with cable and wi-fi. Strong breezes off the lake keep you cool on warmer days. The 2nd separate full bathroom contains a sink, toilet and shower.
If you're cooking don't worry. You wont be left out. The kitchen is 'COOK AND LOOK'', which means you will be able to enjoy the fantastic view too. This is one of our favorite aspects of the condo. The full kitchen is stocked with any basic utensil or appliance you need, including an stainless steel upgraded fridge with bottom freezer, ultra quiet stainless dishwasher, ice maker, blender and baking pans. A grocery store, Anderson's, in town is minutes away. If you're not into cooking there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance or a short car ride to the quaint town of Glen Arbor. Our favorite restaurant is La Becasse in Burdickville. French food to die for!
The main living room has a QUEEN PULL-OUT COUCH, a love seat and a cozy chair that you will find difficult to leave. For your entertainment there is a cabled tv, stereo, cd player, wi-fi, wood burning fireplace and a 2 MIRRORED WALLS that will reflect the light and great view.
The town of GLEN ARBOR is the Mayberry of Michigan. Lots of shop owners are willing to get to know you. There are restaurants to suit any taste and budget. The kids can play in the park and mom can shop to her heart's content. Dad can hang out at Art's Tavern to watch the game. When you're all done stop at The Cherry Republic for a BoomChukkaLukka and post your pic on their wall!
After you've feasted enjoy the many trails on the SLEEPING BEAR NATIONAL LAKESHORE. Pierce Stocking Drive will take your breath away. Hike, kayak, canoe, tube or bike. Kayak/canoe/bike rentals right in town. Tennis courts, too! Or visit some of the neighboring towns like Empire, Cedar or Leeland. You will not run out of things to do!
Why this condo? Well the view is unmatched, it's spacious, well appointed, ground level, professionally cleaned and worth the trip. I look forward to responsible renters that will also appreciate what this condo and the area has to offer.
SATURDAY TO SATURDAY RENTALS ONLY IN JULY AND AUG. In these two months you must rent a whole week. Otherwise you can rent by the day. No Homestead beach club privileges. You must be at least 21 years old to rent.

We stayed at the condo with our children and grandchildren and had the most wonderful time. The condo was clean and roomy enough for all of us. We never felt like we were crowded. Having two bathrooms, two bedrooms a full living room, kitchen and dining area makes it plenty roomy. Even though it was winter the views were magnificent and walking on the beach was very enjoyable. Definitely will be coming back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This was our second stay at this wonderful condo, the first being last October. This time there was lots of snow and we could enjoy the coziness of a crackling, warm fire. We were again impressed with the amenities, cleanliness, comfortable king size bed, living area and the well stocked kitchen. Because we were only there for 3 nights, we cooked breakfast and then ate our lunch and dinner meals out. We love Glen Arbor and were able to walk into town and back to the condo. There are still quite a few choices for delicious food at this quiet time of the season and we enjoyed eating in Leland and Suttons Bay as well. The owners are very prompt, helpful and made our stay very enjoyable! What we love about this condo is it's year around appeal. It's beautiful all four seasons, has a wonderful view and is steps from a gorgeous beach.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Dear Happy Grandparents, So glad you enjoyed your second stay at our condo. We are so glad to have satisfied renters. We do strive to make our condo a safe home away from home. We love it there also in the winter. Glen Arbor sure does have an appeal year round. Looking forward to having you again!

We just got back from the Homestead...stayed at the Swets' beachront condo. The scenery there is breath-taking! A total winter wonderland...absolutely beautiful! The scene of the lake from the condo was so awesome....took lots and lots of pictures! The condo was warm and cozy and so very well supplied with everything we could possibly need...we just brought groceries and clothes and our personal stuff. The staff there was very helpful, anticipating our needs! Thanks for a lovely stay!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This condo is FABULOUS. Let me start with the inside. The pictures of the unit are accurate. However, there are a lot of "extras" that aren't mentioned. There's a cabinet with games in it (monopoly, sorry, dominos, boggle, and others). The kitchen was well stocked with lots of pots, pans, and cooking utensils. There are enough plates, glasses, etc that you don't have to run the dishwasher after every meal. There were even things like plastic wrap, aluminum foil, tea, coffee, etc there (possibly left behind by previous renters?). Even though the kitchen is small, there's plenty of counter space to work, and the opening to dining room lets cook pass through dishes readily and also feel part of the crowd. The bathrooms had lots of big, soft and fluffy towels. In the laundry room, there were lots of beach related things for kids (life vest, sand tools, and little beach folding chairs). It was great being able to use the dryer to dry the kids' mittens between morning and afternoon outings. The living room had plenty of seating areas and a table perfect for playing board games on. The view from the unit is AWESOME. It was nice to sit on the sofa knitting while looking out the huge windows. It was super convenient to take a walk along the lake. This condo has a great location. You're about 5 minutes from Homestead's ski hill/main resort, 5 minutes from Glen Arbor center, and 10-15 min away from the dune climb (aka best sledding hill ever). There's enough for anyone to do, regardless of age, and regardless of time of year. My teenager loved snowboarding and my young kids had a blast sledding. All of us loved coming back afterwards and drinking hot cocoa by the lighted fireplace!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I have spent many wonderful getaways at The Homestead and were especially pleased with this lovely condo. We spent three nights here and enjoyed some unseasonably warm weather so really enjoyed the hiking, shops (last weekend they were all open), Glen Arbor restaurants and walking the beach. We were amazed that there was so much color left up here to enjoy! The water view and sunsets are wonderful and the condo is very nicely furnished with new kitchen appliances and comfortable beds. We would love to come back in the summer when we can enjoy our favorite pastime....reading on the beach!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We have great memories of our time spent at this beautiful condo a few weeks ago. The location on the shore of Lake Michigan is glorious in the Fall! The colors of the maples on the drive on M22 were breathtaking. We really enjoyed biking on the new Heritage Trail from Glen Arbor to the base of the dune climb of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. It was so much fun with beauty all around. The condo is comfortable and cozy and the sun sets are hard to beat. It is a great destination for a time of relaxation and renewal! We highly recommend it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Last week my husband and I spent two nights at this beautiful condo and enjoyed a wonderful time together. The colors were brilliant, and the condo was comfortable and just right. Brand new dish washer and refrigerator, with a stunning view to Lake Michigan. Cold outside, cozy inside with a ready to use fireplace. Everything was so nice! We can't wait for our next opportunity!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks, Naomi! So glad you two loved the condo. We are striving to provide an updated experience with new stainless appliances including a refrigerator, dishwasher and now a flat top stove. We hope to change all the flooring out for tile and comfy area rugs. Can't wait to have you back!

What a beautiful four days at your condo. The condo was clean and well equipped. The view of Lake Michigan was outstanding. A wonderful place to kick back and relax. The area is full of fun things to do including a trip to the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes to the south and dinner at The Cove in Leland to the North. About the owner: We are a Christian, Michigan family who has fallen in love with Leelanau County and Lake Michigan. We have been traveling to the area for 13 years and finally decided it was time to put down stakes. We have 3 children, 2 of which have special needs and we welcome inquiries about how we can accommodate your loved one with special needs.
Why the Owner Chose Glen Arbor:
We decided to buy this condo in this area because we just love it here. The Homestead is a great established resort with the best campus feel. You almost feel you are at camp. Glen Arbor is the friendliest little town where the local artists are happy to tell you about their creations. One week in the town and you'll know why this place is special. In addition, we have always found Leelanau County to be the most beautiful place ever and not just because it was voted so by Good Morning America, although we're not complaining. The views from the condo, the beach, Pierce Stocking Drive will make you drunk with the beauty of this creation. You will leave feeling refreshed and wanting to come back year after year. We did!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
While staying at our property you'll enjoy a spacious, well appointed home away from home. Although we are just a phone call away we also have a team of people ready to help should you get locked out or experience any emergency related to your stay. But the best benefit is having a beautiful place to relax, unwind and get away from day to day worries and let the beauty of Lake Michigan and its sweet water and waves refresh your soul and ready you for your real world responsibilities.
