My husband I were just looking at some photos from our stay, at Water’s Edge and realized that I’d never posted the review that I’d promised my husband I would do. He had such a wonderful time as did I. It came at the end of a very hectic summer and we so needed to find a place to wind down and recharge. And find it we did. Our waterfront living space was open, tastefully decorated and included a screened porch with slider off our bedroom. But nothing rivaled the views. Early morning walks along the winding roads, discovering water birds while kayaking or just dozing at the water’s edge restored the soul. Day trips into nearby Plymouth, Cape Cod and Boston rounded out our week. Most memorable and highly recommended!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The pictures, as beautiful as they are, only provide a glimpse of how beautiful this location really is. Every morning, we woke up to the sounds of the birds, the still water, and the amazing sunrise. The small town of Cedarville (5 minute drive) provides everything anyone would need, and I don't think anyone would blame you for laying out on the dock or lounging around all day, never leaving the property. Kayaking, or swimming, or dining on the dock allows the full peace of the area to settle in. But when you do venture out, you quickly realize that you are right in the middle of everything you would want to see. Plymouth is only 20 minutes away, Boston, no more than an hour, and Cape Cod is at your fingertips. We enjoyed learning about our history in Plymouth (especially the living museum Plimoth Plantation), walking the Freedom Trail in Boston (eating Italian food in the North End), and driving the 6A through the most beautiful country on the Cape. We thoroughly enjoyed the great food, the wonderful people, and the amazingly relaxing lodging while on our first trip to New England. It simply wouldn't have been as good if we had stayed anywhere else. One last note. Jack and Denise are wonderful hosts, providing places to go, places to eat, and wonderful company. They even offered to baby sit our 1 year old son who thoroughly enjoyed the sand and shallow waters near the dock. Thank you Jack and Denise!Did you find this review helpful? We had the most relaxing, enjoyable stay at Jack and Denise’s charming house “At Waters Edge.” The rooms are a perfect mix of comfy and elegant, from the king-size bedroom with porch access, to the living room where you can watch the water for hours (or the 55” TV if you prefer), to the fully equipped kitchen. The huge, airy screened porch had plenty of room for pond-view dining, and was the perfect place to stretch out with a book. In fact, there were so many perfect places to sit and read I couldn’t decide which I liked best—dockside, sprawled in an Adirondack chair under the trees beside the pond, on the porch, on the living room couch, or in bed! I tried them all. We kayaked on the pond, exploring many nooks and coves, including Mass Maritime’s camp with its model ships—truly an interesting sight. Our hosts, who have lived in the area for decades, gave us great tips on area restaurants and attractions—they knew where to go for everything! The location is great for visiting historic sites, the Cape, and the islands, and even Boston since it’s so close to Rte. 3, but when you’re there you feel you’re in a private bit of heaven miles from the crowd.Did you find this review helpful? We have just returned from a beautiful stay at “At Waters Edge”. We were across the road from a 375 acre pond. Our living room looked out at a deck on the water with a great gas grill and a dining area for at least six people. Off of this deck was a long dock for fishing, swimming or kayaking. We watched beautiful sunrises from the glass fronted living room and magnificent sunsets over the cranberry bog from the large shaded screen porch. The apartment was perfect, from the huge comfy couch in the living room, to the king size bed in the bedroom, and the very well appointed kitchen. We even found champagne flutes and beer mugs in the cabinet!! Eating dinner on the dock and snuggling up on the screened porch with a good book and a glass of wine are two of the many memories etched in my mind. The location, five minutes off the highway was ideal for day trips to Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and even Boston. Our hosts, Jack and Denise, long time Plymouth residents were able to give us great dining suggestions and easy direction on back roads to visit the many towns and beaches on the Cape. We are already planning a trip back for next year!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We spent a week at this wonderful get-a-way and was in "awe" from day one! Peaceful and quiet with all the amenities of home. Jack and Denise are wonderful hosts, offering much needed advise on places to go and to eat. It was like having our own personal tour guides at arms length. There's nothing not to like here .... warm and cozy interior, wonderful screened porch which was much enjoyed and the pond which was complete with everything needed for a fun day on the water or a quiet morning/evening on the dock. We not only highly recommend this wonderful home, but plan on returning the next time our plans take us to the Cape. The convenience of all "sight-seeing" adventures was great. We can't thank Jack & Denise enough for making our stay so pleasant and for going out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed and wanted. We even forgot a windbreaker and wonderful Denise called the night we arrived home to let us know she was mailing it to us. How nice is that?!! If you're looking for the best, look no further!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

At Water's Edge is a wonderful getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Denise and Jack are great hosts and there are so many things to do! While staying there, we especially liked kayaking on the large pond (It's 3 mi across) and proximity to the cape, which literally was a 5 minute drive over the sagamore bridge. That gave great access to touring and driving to the rail trail, which was a lot of fun! Relaxing on the patio over the water was great too, where ducks and swans routinely stopped by to say hello. With the occasional boat trolling by or person on horseback walking by, it is very peaceful there. The rental itself is perfect for a couple. The main room is great and the picture windows in the front overlooking the lake were a nice bonus. On rainy days, the screened in porch and the patio on the lake were also great places to relax. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay at "At Water's Edge," We will definitely plan another stay there in the future!Owner response: Wonderful Guests, a delight to meet PD & WV seemed very happy with our waterfront location, and being just a stone's throw from Cape Cod. It's lovely to know that they enjoyed their stay as much as we enjoyed hosting them. Even a couple of rainy days could not dampen their spirits. They found beautiful places to go and interesting things to do, rain or shine. We look forward to welcoming them back anytime. P.S. The swans and ducks send their best. They really love being appreciated.

My husband and I spent a vacation at A Beach House at Waters Edge, in Plymouth Massachusetts. I have always lived by the water, but this is the first time I have stayed right next to a 375 acre pond. Great Herring Pond is enormous, and full of lively wildlife. We immediately went kayaking in one of the tandem kayaks parked at the beach for the guest’s use. There were hawks, ospreys, geese, ducks, swans, and really large fish that jumped and splashed around. The pond is beautiful, and I think we could spend a week or a year kayaking there and not see everything! There as a very long dock and a water deck with chairs at the end of it. When you sit there, you feel like you are in the middle of the pond. The photography possibilities are fabulous. There is also a paddleboat to play with. The beach is white and sandy, and perfect for swimming. Once you tear yourself away from the beach and pond, there is a wonderful shady fully furnished screened deck overlooking the pond. The bedroom has sliding doors overlooking to the waterview deck, and a giant fluffy bed all in white. After a little nap, we ate dinner on the dock, where there is a big fancy grill and comfy tables and chairs! The living room has a big TV, a comfy couch where you can relax while you watch the water view or the TV, a dining table for 2 and a complete kitchen and bath. Everything was perfect and clean beautifully decorated. I stayed at Denise and Jack's previous bed and breakfast, which was spectacular. A Beach House at Waters Edge took my breath away. I can’t believe how big the fish were, and I can’t wait to come back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

"at waters edge" really is a lovely place. We stayed 12 days in the middle of a 3 week trip to the US and wished we had stayed longer. We have been to various vacation rentals during the last years and this one was by far the best kept. We felt like we were staying with old friends although we did not even know Jack and Denise before. The apartment is set up and furnished like you would do with your very own home. It is a cozy place and perfect for two. The kitchen has everything you can think of, the bathroom is rather small but perfectly clean and again has everything you need - like a personal bathroom you would expect on a yacht. Which actually fits since the whole setting is a bit maritime. We enjoyed our breakfeast and dinner looking at the pond (that is a lake actually) trough the big window-front facing the water or - which was even better - sitting on the water deck. We spent a couple of hours sitting on the beach, reading and just looking at the water, the ducks, the geese went swimming and started over :) . If you never had romantic feelings there is a chance you will get them there. As kayaking fans we liked that they actually have kayaks right at the beach that you can use for free - anytime including life vests and all you need. Although this was the place to relax, sit on the waterdeck and read all the books you always wanted to read, we went to the nearby redbox station, got DVDs and watched them on the big screen in the living room. Again - and this is no ad even if it may sound like one - everything was just there and this is a cool thing if you are far away from home and realize what else you should have brought just the moment you need it. Not here: it was there - always (even quite a selection of books). The house itself is in a quite and friendly neighborhood - the type of where you don't lock your car in the parking lot. Boston downtown is about an hours drive, Plymouth about 20 mins (musts: Plymouth plantation, Mayflower and - believe it or not - Whale watching). In about 5 minutes drive there is a small town Cedarville which has a supermarket, liquor-store - the mentioned red box and a couple of small restaurants (The British Beer Company has great pizza!) Cape Cod also is not far away (about 1,5 hours all the way up to the end). If the owners are around: ask them they give great tips where to go and what to do. We'll come again and we will stay a couple of weeks and write a novel - thats for sure. pricelessDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/3
