I fell in love with the place as soon as I walked in. I needed a quiet weekend to myself and this was the place. The view is great and the beach is two blocks away. The bed was comfortable and the bedding cozy. The micorwave/oven worked well. I made all my meals at the Retreat. I definately plan to return.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

My husband and I were looking for a weekend away. It had been a while since we'd taken time for ourselves, as all our vacations and weekends away for the past 4+ years have been taken with extended family. What a perfect little place this was! It was fresh, new, and comfortable. The location ended up being perfect! We were right across the road from the beach and could hear the pounding of the surf (a sound that I love). The star-gazing from the deck at night was incredible. We were within an easy driving distance to Manzanita, Cannon Beach, and Seaside. We were even close enough to enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting at the northern tip of the Willamette Valley. The bed was one of the most comfortable (with the exception of my own) that I have ever slept in. The only thing I would say, is that had we not decided ahead of time to eat all of our meals out, it may have been a very slight challenge. The fridge and freezer is very small; and the cooking options are a two burner stove top and microwave. However, that would have been a minor challenge, and wouldn't have taken away from our enjoyment of the place. Overall, we loved this cottage! You cannot beat it for the price. I'll also say that Kate was warm, friendly, and very easy to work with. Thanks!! xoxoxRecommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Simply, SPLENDID. Clean and accessible. We were greeted by a lovely basket containing 4 apples, 4 tangerines, and one lonesome, delicious Kiwi. If you want comfortable simplicity, this is the place for you. The floor heating is exceptional (my wife has been nagging me about installing floor heating in our abode). The kitchen is great. The view from the deck is great. We walked to the beach which is a stone throw from this nice place. The owners are thoughtful and generous. Coffee beans were provided along with a grinder. The silver ware and china are very nice. The place is QUIET. We slept soundly. The bed is comfortable. The Internet and phone reception were excellent. Finally, the drive to town and to the various parks is short....everything is accessible. We enjoyed our three nights and would return when time allows.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

For anyone who is thinking of staying in the Cannon Beach coastal area, this is the perfect place. First and foremost it is impeccably clean and the place is beautiful. It is a stand alone structure, so it is perfectly quiet. There is a lovely view of castle rock from the deck, and you are surrounded, even with the windows closed with the calming sounds of the ocean. The kitchen drawers are stocked with utensils and cooking pans/ pots. There are also plenty of extra towels and bedding. The sitting area in the living room turns easily into an extra bed, which is fun to use while watching a late movie. The owner is also very attentive to your needs and will quickly respond to any query. All in all this is by far the best place to stay in this area.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Pin clean, mouse quiet, heating system needs improvement, clothes rod in closet? Stairs should be mentioned as some would find them unmanageable. Have yet to receive return deposit after being told that my credit card had been credited.Recommended for: Age 55+.
Owner response: We are sorry the guest hasn't recieved their refunded, we refunded the damage deposit via PayPal the same day of check out. The heating system is radiant and within the floors - it's not instantanous but guests find it very comfortable and luxurious (warm floors).

This is an excellent location on the north coast, and has everything you would need for a nice retreat. The description is accurate and this place is very well maintained. My wife and I were there for 4 days and could not have been more pleased as the beach is a short walk away and the resort areas are within a very short drive.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

What a beautiful home, not to mention spotless. The photos accurately reflect the rental. Very Comfortable, easy to access, close to Cannon Beach and Manzanita and other beautiful beaches. In fact, I arrived just before sunset and it was an easy walk to the beach to watch it. At night I sat on the deck to take in the stars (I was fortunate in that I had very clear weather while on the coast). Kate was helpful and responded quickly from the start. The wireless connection was good, important for me as I was making plans as I traveled. The only disappointment, and it was slight as I was not "home" much, is that it is situated very close to Hwy 101. But, once the traffic dies down you are able to hear the ocean's waves coming ashore. If I had the time, I would have liked to have stayed longer.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 6 night stay! The location is ideal; a short drive to several quaint little towns on the coast. The property was just "as advertised" - new, immaculate, airy, bright and extremely comfortable. Kate and her husband were very helpful; they even brought over a BBQ to use for our stay. We loved our dinners at The Irish Table and Wine Bar in Cannon Beach. We drove to wine country for a day and found this to be a great and easy day trip. We also loved our late night fire on the beach! The only negative comment we can make was the weather; we would've loved some more hot days to sit on the beach but it was very chilly for late July! Instead, we ended up running on the beach, which in the end, was better for us anyway! All in all, a great trip and a great place to stay. We highly recommend it!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Can’t say enough how great this place is. Nice view, easy access to a beautiful beach, nicely appointed and close to both Manzanita and Cannon Beach. (10 minutes either way). The place is very new and was in spotless condition upon arrival. As a bonus, owner quite friendly and willing to answer any question before arrival and check-in went smoothly. My Wife and I look forward to staying there again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.
