The sun sets on the porch side of this comfortable 2 BR 2 bath marsh-side retreat on Tybee’s quiet north end. Sit on your own big private porch and watch snowy egrets and wood storks fly and wade along the creek in this quiet residential neighborhood, about 6 blocks from the beach on the Atlantic Ocean and Tybee Lighthouse side, and about 6 blocks from the beach on the Savannah River side.
You can ride your bike everywhere you need to go! We have low key shopping, bike/golf cart rental, and restaurants on the north end. There's more noise and action on Tybee's south end by the pier, about 2 miles.
We hope we’ve provided all the comforts and none of the cares of home in the Treehugger. Our master bedroom has a queen bed, adjacent full bath, and French doors onto our nice big porch. The second bedroom has a double bed and access to the hall bathroom. All linens are provided. Our living room has a queen sleeper sofa, comfortable chairs and a flat screen TV with DVD and streaming movies. Another set of French doors opens onto our gracious porch from the open LR/DR/kitchen floor plan. The kitchen is supplied with everything you need for dining and cooking. Did we keep saying porch? That's because this porch is our favorite room!
There's something for everybody here, from beach chairs to wi-fi. Entire unit is on one level, up one flight, 14 steps. Park underneath.
Upcoming events on Tybee include SCAD Sand Arts Festival May 10, EVP Pro Beach Volleyball May 11, Beach bum parade May 17, Tybee Floatilla June 2, Tour of Homes Jun 8, Independence Day Fireworks Jul 3, Labor Day Beach Bash Sep 1. But there's always something happening on Tybee: sea turtle actitivites, benefits, and outdoor activities blend with the rhythm of life on Tybee. And we try never to miss sunset/full moon on the ocean. Next full moons are May 25, June 23, July 22, August 20, Sept 19.

My family and I stayed at "Quiet Treehugger's Delight" to celebrate my mother's 62nd birthday. Prior to our arrival we were given very specific directions that helped navigate our arrival. We were greeted with a delightful and personalized welcome notification posted inside a plaque just outside of the property. Although we'd arrived rather late, one of the owners came out to greet us and gave us pleasant and preliminary instructions of the "where/how to's" during our stay. The property was extremely well kept. Surprisingly this mini-resort provided a dishwasher, bar-be-que pit and full washer/dryer accommodations. Though we brought our own supplements, the kitchen was fully stocked with a majority of basic amenities. We'd experienced unseasonably cold weather during our stay, but the resort type of environment made it very pleasant and relaxing. The internet was somewhat sporadic at times and the cable selection was sparse, but that did not deter our stay because we were there to reconnect and bond with each other. The first bedroom was quite comfortable with a beautiful view of the back terrace and march area just beyond our location. The second bedroom is perfect for a family setting with kids, but not necessarily the most comfortable for an adult because the bed is quite firm with minimal support. We had reserved and enjoyed bikes for the duration of our stay which were in pretty good condition. The owners let us know a couple of times in passing what there was to do throughout Tybee during our stay. My family and I would definitely recommend staying at the "Quiet Treehugger's Delight." The pictures posted on line are a pretty accurate depiction of the accommodations provided. The price is very reasonable and lodgings are far beyond adequate. A definite "Must stay there again, thumbs up!"Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks for the kind words. We enjoyed meeting y'all, too! Glad you mentioned the sparse cable selections. We get 5 PBS stations along with the networks and a few others, so we think we're rich! We figure that our guests are not coming to Tybee to get the 200 channel package, and we hope that inspires them to start up a hot game of Monopoly or Dominos that we leave by the TV. It's nice to hear that a family agrees with that!

We found the owner to be extremely helpful in their communication leading up to travels. The property was just as shown and offered so many more amenities that we didn't realize we would be getting. It's a very spacious place with a lot of charm and privacy. The marsh view was so peaceful and the sunsets on Tybee island from the back porch were spectacular! Thank you so much for renting to us, I know our family will remember this trip to Tybee Island, staying in your property for a lifetime. We would definitely return for another stay in the future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: The Treehugger gets our full attention, because it's our only rental property, because we are on site, and because it was our first home together. We are so glad you felt at home in our home!

The Treehugger was perfect for our needs...a quiet, relaxing, comfortable getaway. The house is so bright, cheerful and clean. There's plenty of room, tons of closet space, and very cute inside and out. You have the perfect location with the marsh, and being able to walk or bike to the beach & town. The porch overlooking the marsh was great for just sitting/relaxing and watching the wildlife.....totally loved the porch! You have everything already there....all we had to do was bring our clothes...thank you so much! We felt right at home! Thanks you again for helping to make our stay wonderful. We will see you again I'm sure.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Glad you appreciated Tybee as we do. What a great place to live, and thanks for the kind words!

My sisters and nieces spent four days at the Treehugger's and would absolutely recommend staying here! The condo was very clean and had everything we needed...quiet neighborhood and lots of room to spread out and enjoy our time together. We may never stay in a hotel again after such a great experience with Jane and Allen. Thank you!!Owner response: Y'all were great guests, and you left your recycles in such a neat pile! We'll have to put you in the Treehugger Hall of Fame! : ) Glad you made it back safely. We appreciate the good review!

Very restful setting... I usually have a difficult time sleeping away from home but the wonderful location and the quiet cove made this a very restfull but fun filled time at Tybee Treehugger. Would love to go back for the Mardi Gras celebration. The owners are very concerned that you get to experience all of the Islands aminities.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Just wanted to say Thanks to Jane and Allen for sharing their lovely home with me and allowing Merlin, my fur baby, to share their home as well. We both had a great time and loved waking up to the marsh views and seeing what goes on out there everyday. It's just beautiful. The home had everything we could need and the weather was fantastic. Just hate we had to come back home. :-) Again, many thanks and hope to be able to come back again soon.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: We both grew up in the Carolinas. We met in our teens, reconnected on Facebook in 2010, and married in June of 2011. His retirement career is captain and tour guide of a dolphin boat; she has a day job in Savannah. Pictured above, we did the Polar Plunge on New Year's Day, 2011.
Why the Owner Chose Tybee Island:
We purchased the upstairs unit of our duplex and moved up in July of 2011. We are fortunate to be able to offer the downstairs as a vacation rental and a retreat for our family and friends.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
We love it here! Tybee has a lot to offer in the arts, events, history, recreation, dining, entertainment, and nature. The Treehugger is off the beaten path, but close to a variety of activities. You won't run out of things to do, but beautiful Savannah is only a short drive away.
