We welcome you to your ideal Marin retreat. Nestled in the trees of Cascade Canyon, this home is warm, bright, and comfortable. The heart of the house is its huge, sunny, gourmet kitchen with large marble island and wine fridge. Snuggle up in front of the wood-burning fireplace in the high-ceilinged greatroom. Windows and French doors are everywhere, filling the interior with sunlight and providing views of the oaks, bays, madrones, and redwoods of the canyon.
The large master bedroom has a king bed and high wood-beamed ceiling, with a charming window bench and walk-in closet. The second bedroom features a queen bed under a bank of bright windows, ceiling fan, and an adjoining bath with a serene, spa-like feel. The adorable child’s bedroom sleeps two in its trundle bed, and has an en-suite full bath.
The outdoor spaces rival the indoor. Enjoy your morning coffee at the bistro table on the kitchen balcony, and dine al-fresco at the teak patio dining table. Read the Sunday paper in the comfy outdoor living room under the apple tree. Cool off in the large in-ground swimming pool, or warm up under the stars in the hot-tub. The very private, south-facing yard is sunny all day long, but there is plenty of shade under the trees, as well. There are abundant poolside chairs, lounges, steamers, and cushions for your whole party to sunbathe, or find some extra shade under the large market umbrellas.
There’s lots to do just outside your door, too. Walk up the street to explore the Elliott Nature Preserve with it’s creeks and famous waterfall. Walk down the street to Downtown Fairfax to window shop and get an espresso, or catch a movie at the Fairfax Theater. Don’t let the small-town feel fool you - Fairfax is famous for its many (12+!) restaurants, including a hip new wine bar, and its thriving live music scene. This town is also renowned for it’s world-class mountain biking and hiking, so bring your gear!
This is also the perfect jumping-off spot for your Bay Area exploration. Just 30 minutes south, and you’ll cross the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco. Heading north the same distance brings you to the Sonoma and Napa Valleys for wine tasting and exploring Sonoma Square or Healdsburg. Go west a half hour, and you’ll find some of the world’s most beautiful and unspoiled coastal areas and beaches - Stinson, Bolinas, Point Reyes, and Tomales Bay are highlights. The majestic redwoods of Samuel P. Taylor State Park and Muir Woods are minutes away, as well.
You’ll love your stay at this beautiful home, and the adventures you’ll have nearby. We welcome you to our little slice of paradise. Please contact us for more information, and click the link below for more pictures of the house.

We stayed at this family's house for over 3 weeks during Summer 2012 and enjoyed it so much. The house stays cool at night for resting and peacefull nights, it's beautifully furnished and has personnal pieces of arts and pictures throughout that makes you feel very comfortable and at home. It's very bright with skylights and a lot of windows facing the pool, the yard and the "terrace". It's got plenty of space for a family of 4 to 5, the pool area is great to take a nap under the apple trees, to play around, to have friends over for dinner. It's got a fully equiped kitchen, a BBQ, several umbrellas, benches, chairs to stay by the pool. Great internet connexion. We enjoyed the tomatoes from the garden and a lot of apples to bake crumbles. We felt love, kindness and respect from the family, just by staying at their house. They were helpfull from the day we contacted them and even being out of the country, they answered our questions. It was very special for us to stay in this beautifull house, it was more than a vacation rental, it was like staying at a friend'shouse. I'll highly recomend it to anyone, it's the best VRBO that we have ever rented. Fairfax is the coolest little town of Marin county, away from chain stores and fast foods, it's the heart of organic movement, substainability and mindfull living, plenty of little restaurants of all kind, the best organic ice cream shop, cool cafés and the only independant organic market in the county!! and I have to mention the farmers market happening every Wednesday afternoon to fill up with plenty of organic produce, breads, eggs, food to go, listen to music and socialize with the locals. Being a French family, Fairfax is the best town to stay!! Thanks to the owners, we had a great experience and are hoping to find a house to rent to settle here!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We stayed in this beautifull house for over 3 weeks in Summer 2012 and loved it!! Sunny, very bright, high end amenities and finishes, very comfy beds for all of us, fully equiped kitchen, large floor to ceiling windows overlooking the pool, modern all throughout yet charming. Plenty of space, our 2 kids had their own bathroom, super swimming pool and hottub, it was our best ever VRBO! We enjoyed the shade of apple trees, the flowers, the wisteria, the grapes, ate outside everytime we could, enjoyed the different resting chairs around the pool, the 3 umbrellas, the wooden deck and the ice cream man that came on the street!! There were also apples and veggies to harvest right to the kitchen! Jeff and Theresa were very helpfull when needed, even being far away...I would highly recomend this beautifull, loving, kind house and family. Fairfax is a eclectic little town, super cool, heart of counter culture, no chainstore, lots of restaurants,a famous organic icecreamshop, great cafes, yogaschool, a theater with the latest movies,a super bakery and a unique independant organic market with food to go plus a cafe, a ecominded community like nowhere else. We love Fairfax, being French, it's the closest of a little town it could be to our "villages" I want to thank Jeff and Theresa to have trusted us and had faith in our family, I highly recommend renting this beautifull nest. we had our deposit back within a week, it was great. Stayed here for a week with my husband, son, daughter-in-law and 2 1/2 year old granddaughter and it was terrific. The house was spacious, well furnished and equipped with a beautiful and large backyard, especially by CA standards with an inviting pool. The owner, Jeff, was exceedingly accommodating with lots of information on stuff to do, nearby restaurants, playgrounds, hiking and biking trails. He even put up a safety fence around the pool so we could all feel more secure with our toddler. There are a ton of nearby sights to see and short hops to Sausalito, Muir Woods, the ocean etc. The house is close enough to town, a little less than a mile which our family loved. Fairfax has a real downtown with lots of restaurants, bike shops, yoga studios and has the best coffee shop and ice cream shop i have experienced in a long time. The one and only issue was parking. There is adequate space for one car to parallel park in the driveway but we needed to park our other car down the street a bit. This turned out to be no problem for us. Would recommend to a friend or relative.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our extended family of 6 stayed in this lovely home for the holidays. It is spacious (bigger than it appears in the photos), light-filled, and very comfortable. It is located halfway between downtown Fairfax and a nature reserve at the top of a canyon, in a quiet hillside neighborhood. It's a great place to just hangout, with a gourmet kitchen that accommodates more than 1 cook, and a huge island to work at or just sit around. The living room and dining area easily fit our group. There is also a nice private yard with pool and hot tub. Fairfax is a fun small town, with shops, restaurants, and a night life. It is within easy driving distance of Napa-Sonoma, Mount Tam, the Coast and San Francisco. The owners were very friendly, welcoming, and easy to contact to make arrangements.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
