Check out our convenient, accessible, two bedroom cabin in Silver Gate, Montana. It’s located right on Soda Butte Creek, just one mile drive from Yellowstone Park’s NE entrance. We rent it from June through September.
The cabin boasts a beautiful view of the mountains, a stream, and numerous wildlife from our deck. Frequent 4-legged visitors include bear, deer, moose, bison, fox and wolves. There are many opportunities for hiking, fishing, and photography excursions. Horse back trips and rafting can also be arranged with local guides.
The region is so rich in history (natural and human). You can experience it all within a short hike and/or drive. Silver Gate is a perfect place to base your exploration of Yellowstone Park, the Beartooth and Absaroka Wilderness areas, and the large number of mountain lakes and trails in Montana and Wyoming.
For those craving a more familiar touch of civilization, Silver Gate and nearby Cooke City provide many dining, shopping and entertainment venues.

Our family had the pleasure of staying in this cabin and it was just what we hoped for and more! It was ideally situated for our Yellowstone explorations and adventures. Each morning we awoke to the peace and serenity of the surrounding forest and mountains. We experienced nature at it's best, right from the front deck of the cabin! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well-stocked, and we enjoyed watching movies from the collection there at the cabin. The family that owns the cabin is descended from one of the original homesteaders of the community--what an interesting history! Should we ever return to the area, we would certainly love to stay again. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Year Purchased: 1970
About the owner: Arlene and Bruce, and Gary and Terri share their love of Silver Gate. Our families, old and young, have spent many years enjoying the cabin as a get-away during the summers. Though a number of us live quite far away, we all look forward to spending time again in beautiful Silver Gate.
Why the Owner Chose Cooke City:
It was passed on to us by our parents. When our father was young he spent several years living in the original cabin year round. It has been like a second home for our family.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The best thing about our home in the hills has been the ability to just get away from the demands of daily life and recharge our batteries. Many wonderful family memories have been stored up during our stays in Silver Gate over the years.
