This home was designed and built by the owners. It is a traditional home with a modern design with extensive moulding and detail throughout. Including the 'glass wall' in the main living area, there are plenty of windows and skylights throughout this home to allow for the natural sunlight to shine through. Many of the home’s furnishings are custom made and are accompanied by original art throughout.
Upon entering the home, there is a slate entranceway featuring an alabaster statue at the end of the hallway. The dining room features a bay window, a large pearl blue granite table which comfortably seats 8 people and is decorated with black and white photographs and a large Salvador Dali lithograph. The cross hall living room has a wood burning fireplace, comfortable seating, a bay window, piano window and skylight. Around the corner is a powder room finished with a slate floor and maple wood panelling. The den/study is located just past the powder room and has a gas burning fireplace, two large windows and a skylight. Other than the slate areas, the main floor has maple hardwood floors throughout.
The back half of the house is a great room with a spacious family room with another gas fireplace and a basic entertainment system including a TV, stereo and CD player. The family room overlooks the backyard through the curved wall of windows. On the other side of the windows is a cedar deck. Adjacent to the family room is an eating area with an antique harvest country style table that comfortably seats 6 people. The gourmet kitchen (which has been featured in Kitchen and Bath Magazine) and the family eating area are divided by a curved pearl blue granite counter/bar. From the kitchen you can keep an eye on everything going on in the family room, the eating area and the entire backyard. The kitchen is spacious, fully equipped with top of the line appliances and modern. The white cupboards and the blue hanging lights which follow a drop ceiling offset the granite counter. There is a 6-burner gas cook top and a double wall oven, a large subzero stainless fridge/freezer, two sinks, both with garburators, and a very quiet dishwasher. For extra counter and cupboard space, there is a pantry between the kitchen and the dining room separated by a glass door.
The large circular staircase to the upper level curves around the alabaster statue. Directly above the curved staircase is a large rotunda featuring a domed skylight, which allows natural sunlight to light the core of the house. The navy carpet on the stairs, bedrooms and hallway on the upper level is a sharp contrast to the white walls. There are three children’s bedrooms on the upper level. Two of the bedrooms have two twin beds each. There is a beautiful children’s bathroom located between these two bedrooms with a toilet, sink and tub. The third children’s bedroom has one twin bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower. The master bedroom is furnished with a queen bed, a large walk in closet and a balcony overlooking the backyard. The master bathroom has marble floors, warm yellow walls set off against white wainscoting, an antique slipper type tub, large separate shower and two sinks.
In the basement, there is a large recreational room, great for kids with a table tennis table, a foosball table and another TV. As well, there is a full bathroom and a large laundry room with a washer and dryer.
The yard is fully fenced and is landscaped with a patio and lots of trees and rose bushes. As well, there is a garage accessed from the back yard which has an automatic door.
The house is approx 4000 sq feet and the property is 50 ft x 130 ft.

About the owner: The owners live in the house with their five children during the school year and rent the house during the summers. They have rented the house for the past 10 summers.
